Everyone's introduction to Nazareth should be "Hair of the Dog"! ~ "Now your Messin with a Son-of-a-Bitch".
✌️💜🎶
My fave song of all time!!!
Now you're messing with a...a son-of-a-bitch! Now you're messing with a son-of-a-bitch (son-of-a-bitch)
Absolutely!!!
One of my all time favorites. Even at 10 yrs. old understood the message & was so moved by the passion & pain in his voice. Beautiful song.
I heard the is when I was around 10 too, I was born in 96 and I was obsessed with this song listening to it and my friends were listening to Justin Bieber 😂
Love this song! Now you should listen to Hair of the Dog by them, lol, talk about a sharp right turn music-wise from this song..y`all will definitely like it!
Same album but his vocals on hair of the dog much more defiant and angry
Hair of the dog one of the great songs by Nazareth😅😎🤠
Another great Scots band , and on the eve of St Andrew’s day too… 🏴
This was first recorded in 1960 by the Everly Brothers. It was written by legendary songwriter Boudleaux Bryant.
That's right! How could I have forgotten. I think we had most of the Everly Brothers albums when I was a kid.😊
Dan "The Man" McCafferty. RIP.
A childhood favorite, still have the LP.
Your next Nazareth song should be "Hair of the Dog" which has great usage of the voice box during the song. Sadly, their lead singer, Dan McCafferty, died in November 2022 at the age of 76 years old.
hair of the dog record is great start to finish.miss misery n whiskey drinking woman are fire....saw them live they were great
So good! “This Flight Tonight.” It is awesome! ❤
A Joni Mitchell cover of all things.
I felt every note. ❤️🔥
This sing brings back memories and all good ones
Man this is one of the greatest albums of the 70's IMO Dan could sing his ass off!
I grew up on Nazareth because of my mom and dad, they were in their teens when this came out.
Love this song so much. Nazareth is so awesome! Love your reactions!
I've been listening to Nazareth for 50 years and I actually have even more respect for the band now. This is one of their biggest hits if not their biggest. They have so many great tunes. You've got to react to the cheeky, gritty rocker Hair of the Dog, the massive radio hit This Flight Tonight as well as my personal favourites, Woke Up This Morning and Turn On Your Receiver, plus Shanghai'd In Shanghai, Bad Bad Boy, Broken Down Angel, Razamanaz, My White Bicycle and Holy Roller. The lead singer, Dan McCafferty, and lead guitarist Manny Charlton (both RIP) are criminally underrated in my opinion.
This is one of the all time greatest songs from the 70s...amazing, beautiful song
I was little in the 70s, but 80s when I was going thru first major break up, first real boyfriend, this song was still very relevant and to many throughout the years. This song stands the test of time for sure.
LOVE ❤ THIS SONG
They were from Scotland….I saw them for the first time in 1975 here in Canada. Got to meet the singer Dan McCafferty and he was an absolute sweetheart.
Love this song! One of my favorite ballads.
Classic, I've never heard someone sing so amazingly sad. Awesome
Nazareth - Hair of the Dog and This Flight Tonight.
When I was a teen in the 80's in Canada, everybody had this on cassette. Everyone. I later bought it on CD, too. Check out 'Hair of the Dog' and 'This Flight Tonight"
A GREAT song from them is "Please Don't Judas Me". That one blew me away. Most people just listen to their big hits - Love Hurts, Hair of the Dog, but if you want something deeper and fantastic, try Please Don't Judas Me.
Had this album, whole thing is great! I agree with everyone else that your next song should be Hair of the Dog!!
OMG the lead singer does look like Willem Defoe!!! 😮😮😮. I recommend Hair of the Dog my Nazareth too!!! A different take on them!! This band takes me back to my teen years! ❤❤❤❤
He reminded me of Eddie Van Hallen, but when they said Willem I said, YES!
Hair of the dog top 10 albums of all time.....drop the needle and let it spin....not one bad song.
Have to agree with the others,
"Hair Of The Dog" needs your approval!
And even Ollie's who's missing out today!!
THANX GUYS!!
Sunshine! It’s in the same vein as love hurts. Very nice song you will love it.🇨🇦👍🏻🇨🇦
What a voice!!! My top 5 singer for sure. Plenty of hits to discover!
No truer words.😢 I've loved Nazareth, and this song since day one ..Danielle McCafferty was the singer iThank you for the great reactions.Just FIRE 🔥 in my opinion.🎸🎶🎵❤️
Happy belated Thanksgiving to you both
Same to you! much love!
Loved it!!! Brings me back to roller skating!!!
I love this song
Oh word wow!❤ My Dad introduced me to this band at 7yrs old. I'm ageing myself❤
That guitar solo gets me in my feelings
I still get goosebumps to this
Miss misery, hair of the dog ! Love your reactions
Whiskey Drinkin Woman.
Same album.
Classic.
Great reaction! Try their songs "Turn On Your Receiver" and "Woke Up This Morning"!
❤absolutely 💯 fire
High school dance huge hit!
Great song. used in the movie Dazed and Confused too.
You have to remember that there was so much great music coming out in the seventies. I loved this song! But I'm not surprised it didn't rate.
Love this song thank you❤😊
My cousin Boudleaux Bryant, and his wife Felice wrote this song.
Awesome song! They played this song a lot on the radio when I was little.😎
You need to hear Nazareth - This Flight Tonight!
I agree with a lot of comments about "Hair Of The Dog" as it's one of my favorite songs too. If you want another absolute banger crank up "Woke Up This Morning". And I mean crank it up!!
This is an end-of-dance song
OMG! I remember going through a rough time eith my husband in my early 30d and playing this over and over! We eorked it out and lasted 43 years.❤
This is actually a cover of an Everly Brothers song. Both are great.
You can smooch to your hearts content with this one ... fabulous !
“Hair of the Dog”is next!!
Really enjoy you both and love your reactions. Fenom, shout out to your hat and hoodie-Maryland lady here and haven't been this happy with the team since the 90's. HTTR
HTTR!!!
Used to walk around high school smoking area with a boom box usually playing this sone OR some aerosmith. LOVE it.
"Hair of the Dog" is Nazareth's sound, but this song is stellar, also. You can see where the likes of AC/DC got their sound.
A great 70s band
As you did "Love Hurts", you need to listen to "Dream On", too. It's epic! But my very fav is "This Flight Tonight" (< not a ballad, though). Cheers form Germany.
The theme song of “The Wonder Years” was sung by Joe Cocker covering the Beatles song “ A little help from my friends”
"It burns you when it's hot" Oh yes. Yes sir.
I bet you've heard Hair of the Dog!
One of my all time favs!❤
met dan in 1980, iwas working for the local council ,we saw a roller pulling up in street and out pops dan, he saw us and came over for a chat and said he was visiting his mother and thanked us for recognising him and then he whipped out two £50 notes for us and told us to get crazy at the weekend!. absolute gentleman!
You fellas need to do some Thin Lizzy
I was in jr high!!! The drama. Hahaha. This song was made for jr high drama. I could sing it in my sleep. With feeling. 💙
This tune is fire 🔥 also hair of the dog is great ❤
My favorite song thanks
He still sings awesome
To me, Dan McCafferty had the ultimate rock n roll voice❤Rest in peace❤
Its a great song, it brings me back many years. I'm glad you got to hear it and liked it ! 😎🤟
Beautiful and true!!♥️😪
Now you have to listen to “Hair of the dog”
well gentlemen you have opened a Box thats very deep and filled with Classic rock and roll and although folks have noted the radio songs from Nazareth, ther are a few more no one talks about, so Here you go..
Broken Down Angel, Razamanaz, Bad Bad Boy, Shanghai'd In Shanghai, Holy Roller and last but Not least Woke Up This Morning
enjoy, keep the reviews coming :)
Finally someone recommending some of their songs that they don't only know because they watched someone else reacting to it. Even though all the songs other people are recommending are great, they've got so many songs that are even better.
I go down to rabbit hole is that brother can sing and they rock out and they got a lot of good songs try whiskey drinking woman by Nazareth or this flight tonight by Nazareth they got a whole bucket list
Woke up this morning
I got introduced to this song by Rob Zombies Halloween when I was a kid, became obsessed with the song then found out later that the band is Scottish like me 😂 blew my mind
Greetings from Canada. "Hair of the Dog": "Now you're messin' with a son-of-a-bitch". Peace, love and bellbottoms.
Listen to the full album. I ❤️ Hair Of The Dog ❤!!
He reminds me of the Juan Epstein character from the old tv show Welcome Back Kotter🖖🏻🇨🇦
Can see that!
lol had my sweat hogs shirt back in the day....
Love this song. For years I thought it was Dusty Springfield though. Great voice and delivery.❤
Great song 👍🏻
Peace and good Vibes your way! I had a lot of hot kisses at the back of the skating ring to this song...
Nazareth was awesome. Check out some of their other songs.
Hair Of The Dog
Gone Dead Train
Miss Misery
Changing Times
Teenage Nervous Breakdown
Expect No Mercy
This Flight Tonight
Razamanaz
Whiskey Drinking Woman
"Hair of the Dog" is my favorite but this is a good selection and excellent song. Love Dan McCafferty, very popular in the 70's. Hey guys, Dan McCafferty is the male version of Jennifer Jason Leigh.
I always loved this song. Got a Request Steve Perry (solo) I Stand Alone💞💞💞💞
Saw them at the Texas jam Dallas cotton bowl 1978
Scottish people got soul. ✊
Another great reaction video - This is probably the best version of this song but followed closely by Roy Oribson which is also excellent. I quite like Joan Jetts cover of this too.
Written by Boudleaux Bryant, it was first recorded by the Everly Brothers in 1960, then by Roy Orbison in 1961.
The problem with the 70's is that there were so many excellent songs and only so many #1 spots.... but just because they didn't hit the #1 spot doesn't mean that they weren't played over and over and very much a part of the fabric of the 70's and beyond.
Check out their "Vigilante Man" for some really gritty Blues.
It's a great one.🩵✨️🩵
Good thing O missed this slow one
He would have to give props to the vocals.....maybe????....but it is Olli we're talking about 🤔
This is one of my favorite songs when I'm feeling love cuz it hurts lol okay that was stupid but so am I so who cares
My throat hurts when I try to sing it 😂 love the commanders cap! DC boy here
HTTR!
The Everly Brothers and Roy Orbison also did versions of this song. But this is the best, IMO.
Also, Gram Parsons covered it in 1974. I find the Nazareth version to be the worst of the lot and maybe one of the worst covers ever; the vocals grate on my nerves.
@@chopa2less Really? I love them.
checkin in...
"Hair of the Dog" and "This Flight Tonight" (but if you do, please also do the original by Joni Mitchell to see how much different they sound and yet how awesome both versions are.)
