One only has to remove units to match supply is when the Westeros card tells you to (though you can never muster past your supply) so there are times when your armies are more than supply
at 18:40 you're saying the siege engine has a strength of 4. Thats true only when attacking zones with castles and fortresses. And searoad marches has none of those :D
@@RulebreakerBoardgames if I caught your attention, mind helping me out? Let's say im in Winterfell with 3 knights. Can I use only ONE march order to conquer 3 neighbouring zones? (castle black/the stoney shore, moat calin) considering there are no enemies in there of course. Is conquering a zone that is not mine considered a battle and thus ending the march order? Thanks for the video btw
Isnt there a rule on pg. 9 that also states "if an area containing a Castle or Stronghold is unable to muster or upgrade a unit (or its owner decides not to muster or upgrade in this area) its mustering points are lost (i.e., they do not contribute to future musterings here). Is thats saying if you dont muster its lost or burnt out for the duration of game? Great video! Very informative.
Lol. 7 months ago, but I was perusing and saw your question. Those muster points you mentioned would only be lost for that mustering round. The next time a “muster” happens you then get to make new choices about how to allocate those mustering points per your castles and strongholds, always staying within your restrictions of army size based on your supply counter.
Wow! Weve been playing it wrong this whole time! If somebody would lose a muster point wed strip it for the rest of the game. Example if somebody took a home castle and a muster round took place afterwards we wouldnt let them muster the beginning. Mind you it made strategy different. Taking care of home keeps and we thought of it like they burned the keep down or salted the fields. Good to know! Great vid by the way.
Interesting. Well, if everyone is playing with the same rules there certainly a level of fairness there. But, yes, if you cannot muster for one round it does not last for the entire game if your circumstances change and you have the supply and plastic pieces to muster when the game tells you to (or you use your special consolidate power token). Back in the day we used to play this game all the time and almost EVERY game we would realize we were doing something wrong. Haha Also, the video is good, but it’s not mine! I was perusing around watching “how to play” videos because I haven’t played in a while and am wanting to get back in there after this pandemic subsides.
You mentioned that you need at least one footman in order to have the siege engine's combat strength be valid. Where does it say that in the rules? Thank you so much for this video!
Just came to play this for the first time since December 2019.
This is much better than the other two 20min vids!
Thanks for all the effort!!! :D
Thanks a lot. Glad it was useful!
@@RulebreakerBoardgames We had one late out so we played with 5... predictably Baratheon smoked us losing no battles
Nicely done! This is a complex game to explain.
Great for refreshing our memories for playing tonight, thank you.
You're welcome! Enjoy the game!
Thanks for doing this from the very start of an unboxing, most people skip the first third of this video.
Glad you got some use from the video :)
I just bought this game! This is a great video… thank you :)
Explanation was fantastic
I wish you could make a playthrough for more than 3p
Maybe I'll do a playthrough of the digital version someday as that would be easier to film.
So happy this video is here!
Cool :)
Very nicely explained 👌
Enjoy the game

I took this to the rule book and it's actually incorrect!
at 18:40 you're saying the siege engine has a strength of 4. Thats true only when attacking zones with castles and fortresses. And searoad marches has none of those :D
That is completely true, you are correct!

Sorry I missed this question. Yes, you can!

Yes its a game that definitely keeps surprising our board game group. We still play often.

Bit late but did you find an explanation ? Can u or can u not ?
Any chance you'd go over any of the expansions?
Hi!
I don't have the Mother of Dragons expansion, but if I get a copy of it somewhere I would happily do a vid on it.
@@RulebreakerBoardgames Ahhhh fair. It goes on sale for pretty cheap here in the states, fingers crossed you can snag a copy!
first edition?:(
No, this is for Second Edition. Most of the rules are the same, but there are some exceptions.
@@RulebreakerBoardgames I have the first edition and i dont know how to play it.. can i learn from this video?
Thanks for the detailed explanation!
