Great video Dillon. I really enjoy watching and listening to your videos. I also enjoy the back and forth on the comments. Hope all is going well with the family and your new adventure. 🤙
Thank you very much Kevin! I always enjoy hearing from you as well sir. I had no idea you were a trucker. I think you mentioned in a previous comment that you drive trucks. Is that correct?
Yes indeed Roadhog! That has always been something that has made me happy. Knowing that the wood is some of these peoples main source of heat and even their only source of heat. It’s a very rewarding labor. Thank you for all of you kind words so much 🤝 I’m always happy to hear from you sir.
Hard work Dillon. This year alone you have split a huge pile of wood. I wish you continued success and fun with your work. Greetings from Germany Peter.😊
Thank you very much Peter 🙏 it’s always good to hear from you sir. I enjoy hand splitting a lot and now I will be traveling around the United States more often, so I hope to split wood in many other states as well. I hope you have a blessed winter and health as well 🤝
Thank you very much Daniel! I always enjoy watching you hand split as well. I have taken things from others as well. That’s how I learned to hand split. And then I picked up some things over the years as well. Keep up the great work with your videos and firewood Daniel! It’s good to hear from you and God bless 🤝
Thank you Kevin! At around 0.32 is the 100 round challenge. I intend to give that one another go, Lord willing. I hope you are blessed sir and it’s always good to hear from you 🤝
Great video, and what a great feeling to put the hard work in and knowing that you're providing warmth for people to enjoy snd appreciate. What kind of axe are you using?
The Thing with Maple, Grow strong and twist. Don't need a log splitter, but it takes quite a number. On some of these bigger maples I got its a challenge to get Consistency
I love my splitting maul. The weight of it alone just blows through most cuts. Only time I struggle is on a knot or wet piece of wood. The dry ones literally explode 😂
Mauls work very well indeed. I prefer a good splitting axe myself. I have an 18 pound maul and I’d take my 6 pound splitting axe over it any day. But it comes down to preference with that 👍
@@bluegrassoutdoors I have only tried the maul. I like that it doesn’t need a sharp point to get through the wood. Your axe takes more force to swing but mine is heavier to lift. So yeah they’re just preference lol I never tried an axe
@JohnnyButtercuts I definitely like a maul over a traditional axe as well. At least in most woods. But a splitting axe has a head like a maul, without the weight. If you ever get a chance, I highly recommend trying the fiskars. They are great splitting axes and the heads are very similar to mauls. I like more of a blunt edge as well myself. I’d love to see some of your hand splitting footage if you decide you’d like to share 👍 I enjoy seeing others hand split a lot.
All that work is worth it in the end🙂,the pleasure of a warm home and sitting beside a roaring fire in the winter is a sight to behold and think of the hard work that is done to enjoy this moment by the fire 🪓😄❤🔥
I agree entirely sir! There’s something extremely relaxing about seeing, hearing, feeling and even smelling a good fire. Campfires and fire places/wood stoves alike. I love hand splitting as well. It’s something I find very unique, as far as physical labor goes. Thank you for the kind words sir and I hope you and your loved ones have a blessed winter to come. god bless 🤝
Good video
Thank you very much Jasper! Your videos are really good too. Keep up the great work 👍

Thank you very much! It is a very rewarding labor indeed, as you mentioned. I use a fiskars super splitting axe. They are fantastic splitters 👍

Where do you go to church?
London Kentucky is where we usually go but I haven’t been there for awhile now.
Holiness?

I don’t know how long it will take me to split a face cord of firewood 😂
I would enjoy seeing a video of you hand splitting a face cord! I think a lot of it has to do with the type of wood that it is as well.
@@bluegrassoutdoors wishful thinking. LOL. Too many knots in these parts.
