Hello everyone thanks for watching the video! I forgot to say how much horsepower the combines have so the NH CX 8.70 has 368hp then our JD T670i has 400 and then the NH CX 8.90 has 482hp. Any other questions stick them in the box below thanks.
Hello Andy, I would like to hear your thoughts on the NH combine. So like pros and cons compared to the JD. Once again nice video. Keep up the good work. PS: We also have a NH combine. It's an CX8080. Greetings from Germany.👍🏻🇩🇪
hope you liked the New Holland, there a great machine, I worked for a JD dealer for several years and the combines are ok but im with a New Holland dealer now and the combines are the next level, top machines and very reliable, id go CX8.90 with 30ft
We run a Claas 770 but had a 6900 straw walker on demo this season and were quite impressed. Before this latest range of straw walker Claas combines New Holland would have out performed on cleanliness of sample and losses.
@@callumfarms889 not sure why. just Combined 120 acres of bring barley and straw was perfect. Lexions are hybrids so you do your threshing in the drum not the rotors if you want straw quality. The output makes my jaw drop.
I live in Northern Ireland and grow fairly substantial crops of winter barley, wheat and oats and I would highly recommend a Case Axial Flow as I can give most straw walker combines a run for their money!
Sorry so late catching up on the latest video buddy. Yer nice i like the John Deere harvester and like the new Holland harvester both look good working in the field mate As always a pleasure to watch always look forward to more from you Andy 👍
We have a new claas lexion 670 combine fantastic machine. But I'd like to see one of the new massey ferguson combines. Fantastic video. Regards to the family
I have been a long standing Claas fan and the new range of Lexions must be looked at especially when fitted with the New Convo flex header they are a game changer who could not be impressed by watching Ollie harvesting in the pouring rain.
@@callumfarms889 what are you popping on about? there are straw walker Lexions available 6700 for example and the Tucano is out of production replaced by a mini Lexion called Trion
No worries 🙂 have a look at the Claas UK website and all will be revealed straw walker Lexions have always been available since their introduction in the mid 1990's👍
I would definitely see if you could get your hands on a new Claas Trion 730/750 Montana (Equivalent to JD's Hillmaster), and see what the smaller twin rotary (750 is twin and 730 being single rotar) combines are like, or maybe even a Lexion 7500. And if you don't like the idea of a rotary, probably a lexion 6800 or 6700, Trion 660, or a Tucano 580 Montana would suit. Maybe even a Fendt/Massey Ideal 7 combine would suit. Would love to see what you think of these, especially if you were to try one of the smaller rotaries (Trion 730/750 and Ideal 7) and see how they stack up as they are kind of new to the market, as the trion sort of being a smaller brother to the lexion series. And also would love to see what you think of the Convio Claas headers with them having the belt and auger feeding system
If your going down the straw walker route a Lexion 6700 and see if you could try get the flex header its a real game changer. we have one on our new combine and its been unreal. Love the vids keep up the good work
I would very highly recommend trying a new Fendt Ideal. Supposed to be a great machine and from what I've seen they are extremely precise and extremely good at maintaining the least amount of grain loss out the back. Very good grain samples as well.
Thank you for another great video! Will you ever consider a rotary combine? We have a Jd S680i, its a brilliant combine a covers the acres, and even though it is rotary as long as the settings are set right the straw is perfect.
Great video, I'm curious though if you have the shorter headers on your combine because of a denser crop. Then wouldn't it be more economical to get a class 9 or 10 in order to use the 40 foot header and increase your speed and productivity? We do have places in the United States that are producing well over 200 bushels per acre and still have 40 to 45 foot header and running upwards of 5 mph. That is in winter wheat, but I was just curious
That wouldnt be increase in working speed because of the roads in england, they have really small lanes where they have to fit their equipment, there is probably other reasons too. Maybe they just dont need bigger combine? Maybe they get harvest done in the time they want with what they currently have.
I think it also has a lot to do with the size of English roads and country lanes, as well the physical size of a combine that can handle those high loads. A bigger combine would be more economical, however, think about the bridge the combine crossed a video or two ago it could barely get across. A bigger combine just couldn't do it, while it might be possible for a farmer to upgrade there own pathways in places. The public roads just aren't practicable to upgrade its just cheaper to use more smaller combines than upgrade roads to handle a big combine. The size of most UK roads are unchanged since the days of horse and cart with hedgerows to mark boundaries.
Always remember my boss telling me to get out and clean wheat of the trailer wheels and the back of the trailer, right before he hopped back into his 100k range rover! 🙄🤣🤣
you should test a fendt 6335 c combine or a model with some more horsepower. This one has 360 horsepower. the combine drives as smoothly and comfortably as the fendt tractors. as good as a john deere combine. I think it would be a good demo for you're farm.
Hey Andy!! Thanks for answering my question, using Welker farms, or Mitchell, is not a fair comparison, their land and weather conditions are poor, a 40 b/ac crop to them is a bumper crop, perhaps a better way of figuring this out is class of combine and % of working horsepower, you have great crops over there!!
@@grantwahl5596 Yes, and it explained why he is driving slow with smaller header than those fellas in america with bigger headers and highers speeds. Did you even listen the question that was asked?
US average wheat yield is 47bu/acre (1.3t/acre) compared to U.K. Average wheat yield at 110bu/acre (3t/acre) so I'd say the comparison was fairly accurate. Crop yield has the biggest effect on combine performance. Bigger combines will go faster obviously but will always be slower in a thick crop vs a thin crop.

nice video andy new holland have always made great combines.
Nice to see you in a proper Combine! We’ve got a CR 10.90 Twin rota with a 35 foot header and she runs like a dream 💨
“Proper combine” 😂. A claas or a Deere would blow a new Holland out of the water any day
sounds smooth as glass sounds like they fitted with an x box probabley part of the autosteer option
Definitely try a claas lexion most combines I see use claas
100% switched from New Holland to Lexion last year and loving it

Too big
We got a brand new cx8.90 of oakes this year and it is a weapon
Any header will work good in standing crop like your in. Test it in a laid crop that’s regrowing then make an assessment
agree
Great video Andy, thanks
They are good combines andy
Enjoying your videos on your channel good work ✅
In ontario, canada we will run 100 to 120 bushels an acre wheat. The western parts of Canada have the lower wheat yeilds.
Great video!! When will you be swapping ur combine in.

Hi Andy,
Can the chute on the end of the Auger be angled in tight enough to get the corn cart straddling the straw?
Great it's a farming Life for me Video, thanks for sharing
Great video. Could try a class lexion with a flex header
Claas Lexion try one of them may be the 7700
Certainly use less fuel than green. Always found conventional new Holland very clean combines. Not much if at all out the back.
Was that a Heli going over as the trailer backed in the shed?
I'm glad somebody else noticed that. Lol! Sounded like a Chinook... \m/ (:o)

Looking back on global wheat yields, the UK has always been high. Is there a special reason for this, like soil, weather etc?
Its all down to our regular rainfall and temperate climate which is the right conditions to grow the best quality wheat.
