- Real estate agent and designer duo Darren and Kate Mancuso take on impossible projects no other flippers would touch in Cleveland Ohio. Facing crumbling foundations and dripping sewage, they gut homes and build them up again into highly coveted properties.
Only 1 episode?!?! HGTV should have ordered a ton of seasons!
Stunning and tasteful transformation ...equally surprised there wasn't a bidding war or at the very least a full price offer!
Kate: "No!! They painted my brick!"
Also Kate: *Paints every inch of the exterior brick*
yea painting the brick on the outside was a mistake in my opinion in regards to making it the best house it could be but whatever it sold so I guess it worked out for them. Maybe the new owners will consider removing that paint.
@@candidavis1061 Once you paint brick you're stuck with all of the upkeep. It will get pretty expensive because it'll have to be repainted regularly so it stays neat and fresh.
Yeah. Bad choice. Until you see all white front.
Do not like the entry hall table. For kids to bteak.
i know i was so sad to see the brick painted and the beautiful shrubbery and ivy on the house gone:/
@@judyfenske1429 I agree, and it was not appropriate for effective home staging.
During the depression, some jurisdictions allow a person to build a garage first to keep the cost down and allow the family a place to live till they can afford to build their home on the front of the lot, thus turning the temporary living quarters into its original purpose a garage. Kenosha Wisconsin was such a jurisdiction.
I wish this was allowed now. WoW Wisconsin in the winter in a garage 🥶!
Beautiful renovation... Anymore episodes? This is higly interesting. And Darren and Kate are very friendly and dedicated...
Please pick up these two and do a TV show on Gut job!!! LOVE THEM and their interactions. They did a beautiful job. Would love to see them go back and do the other house!!!
Love love this house, the transformation is unbelievable. Their ability to integrate the old with the new so tastefully is beyond words. I'm inspired!!
That’s one of the most amazing houses I have seen on hgtv, I could not believe it sold for so that price. Definitely worth more
First time viewer here with some feedback:
1. Instead of putting the wide round table in the middle of the entry with the odd rectangular rug underneath, I would have added two comfy chairs next to the fireplace.
2. They literally saved that house. It's always so nice to see some of the original character of the home salvaged and brought back to life, like the wood floors, those corner cabinets and the leaded windows.
3. I love every single room. It all looks so fresh, clean and bright, but also interesting.
4. That young couple who might put an offer in were adorable and their little boy was so stinking cute!!!!!!!! 💙
the outside looks nice, but truthfully I prefer the original brick, it had charm, white made it looks like everyone else.
I thought the same thing. The dark brick goes with the architecture of the house.
She has a breakdown because they painted the fireplace brick and then paints the outside. Once you paint that brick, you don’t go back. Lot’s of people do it, I just find it sad.
The babies and kids in this video are so cute and well behaved. Oh the house is beautiful too!
Great! Another show designed to keep me glued to HGTV. Why am I paying for all these other channels?

Lol, was just saying I can't be watching just this stuff😂
Same! 🤣😂
Beautiful result.
The first house needs your rescue too.
I thought you both did an excellent job. The banter between you did not feel forced. I look forward to the next episode! Great job! Congrats 👏 ❤💯
💯
Yes, not so overly dramatic as most similar shows.
Thank you!!!
STUNNINGLY CHIC outcome plus keeping the antique original details of the era, really was a plus! Congrats gyus 👏👏👏👊💙
OMG, that house is gorgeous, stunning! Nice that they saved a lot of the original features, like the leaded glass windows and corner cabinets.
Not a fan of leaded glass and I wish those corner cabinets had not been 'distressed'. They jumped out of the room and not in a good way.
@@eattherich9215 hate to say it but those windows are not energy efficient. Might look nice but your gonna waste a ton of money on heting/cooling costs and your not gonna be happy about the utility bill
This house is the most beautiful house ever done on hgtv and I love the couple, they work so well together, nothing is forced, you can see the love and care they have for each other, truly a power couple.
Dad and daughter.
@@imho2278, no, pretty sure it's husband and wife. She called him by his name!
Thank you for taking me on that wonderful virtual trip to Iceland. I loved it!!! Thank you so much. What a beautiful location it is.
Absolutely gorgeous remodel! I live about 20 miles from this beautiful home. I hope HGTV picks up your show. Some of the new shows leave a lot to be desired, imho. The designs just don't inspire me. PS. I went to high school in NE Ohio and we had several Mancuso's (Joey). Though I'm guessing that is a pretty popular Italian name.
Thank you so much.
More episodes please!
I loved loved loved watching this. I love her design and style so so so much!!!! 😱
I love this show! When can I see more episodes?

So good !the house full of history and so much character both of them did a great job👍❤
The only thing that didn’t burn 🔥 is the fireplace lol 😂.
They did an incredibly good job.
I love this newest addition to HGTV lineup... I hope it gets a time... because I can't find it...anyone?
I love it! A great transformation!
Wow! Simply amazing what they did.
You guys did an AMAZING job, bring this home to a touch of heaven for a family to enjoy. GREAT JOB! BEST one YET! LOVE from Chicago
Loved this show!
They didn’t even save all the valuable antique wood trim from the baseboards or door and window jambs, what a waste. Ugh
Great job and the tile work is amazing love cabinets and the way you finish it really nice
I work in construction. Please have your demo crew wear respirators. The place looks gorgeous.
Eye protection! Love that you kept many original features like door. Looks great
Love this! Love you guys! I can't wait until the next episode.
Wonderful job! Hope this series continues. Great chemistry and warmth shown throughout! Thumbs up from the U.K.
Are there more episodes? I like it this show
So excited for this!
Awesome transformation. Hats off
Can’t wait to see more! When will new episodes be posted?!
A stunning restoration!
This turned out amazing!
Loving this show! Can totally relate to the clawfoot! We have one that came with the house and inherited one from my father.
Love Love Loved this episode. You guys did Cleveland proud!!! Who does the decor? The master bed is to die for 😍
Next episode now please??.... 😍all the way from outback Broken Hill AUSTRALIA! 🇦🇺
Well done! Beautiful.
Thank you very much!
The painted exterior brick looks so good
i agree with the wife on this one i love those old lead style windows and even if you pull the other 5 out save them and i bet if you sold them as is your looking between 250 and 300 each
So great . ..Live near where you are from + heard you were doing this show. Congratulations I'll be watching your show 🎊
They completely destroyed the exterior of the house!
Ya, totally looked better when it was burned up and crap brown
The neighbors have to fix the melted siding. Walking up to a house like that is a big red flag for a lot of people.
I really enjoyed this episode and would love to see more! It is really nice to see the Cleveland area get highlighted as most of these shows like this are based in the south. Was this show cancelled or does anyone know if there will be more episodes in the future?
This was just a pilot episode. Unfortunately, the show was not picked up for a full season.
@@MancusoHomes Awe...what a disappointment. 😕
That same house would list for over a mill here in Greater Boston
Nice Job!
Absolutely beautiful
when would someone say that it would be harmful to live in this and that the paint will start to let through the fumes. I did a lot of restorations and they were always not happy clients. it was just that the old woman had her eyebrows painted.
On balance, they did a lovely renovation. I love the exterior, but there are things about the inside that I don't like so much. The guest bedroom was obviously too small as was the office and I think there were comprises not shown on camera why they didn't get the top price.
Very impressed
Why is it Americans make mostly board houses that look very weak? Jamaicans build concrete houses. These are much stronger.
I wish they would build them like Jamaicans. Great quality, great workmanship. Unfortunately, many places dont have to deal with scary weather so they go cheap!!
It depends on the home. I saw so many metal-building homes in the USA and love it. I saw some homes in Jamaica and I would never enter. LOL!!!
Well... you get hurricanes. So...
no hurricanes to worry about
Most of Indonesian modern house built by brick.
Myb it is depend on their weather and season.
Living in tropic country has to avoid wood bcause some insect can broke the wood.
Tudor Revival homes have such character, and this one was stripped of most of it. I don't expect a remodel to make an old home look like a museum, but it should at least be sensitive to the style of architecture. This interior could be found in any modern condo. What a waste.
Nicely done
Thanks!
Love seeing these full guts to the studs
The white on white on the outside is so sad. And THEY PAINTED THE BEAUTIFUL BRICK??
The PRIMARY bed and bath suite should've been down on the main.
Nice job although at the beginning she keeps saying that they are the only ones who does this work and then keeps complaining on how difficult everything would be. Anyway, nice to see it all cleaned up.
I think it's about their third house from the way they are acting. He's using a screwdriver as a chisel, safety precautions aren't happening...I think their producer is coaching them along.
what happened to the house next door where the outside was falling off.they should have bought that one too
Enjoy watching twice.🌑❤️
I didn’t realize Mike Pence had gone into home renovation.
linda gracias por compartir, felicidades y bendiciones 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍🥰💐🇲🇽
They're restore our homes all over the world.
Gorgeous
Awesome ❤️🇨🇦
It looks great except the exterior brick is too bland & the fireplaces have lost the detail due to the off-putting bright white paint color :)(
And cheap railings makes the staircase look horrible. Sad
I really wonder on what they could've done with ugly house in Ohio City!? This transformation was good but they had good bones to work with from the start. Ohio city house, shudder!
Just Wow
They should have fired the project manager
Yep, not much communication there.
Lovely
Thanks for litlle heart 🤗.
i just cant with 3 minutes of ads for every 5 minutes of video
Sorry the ads are controlled by UA-cam. 😐
White inside white outside. No style no imagination.
I’m 75 and my mom had stupid corner cabinets just another crappy choice. Take up space and do nothing and let’s cheap out on the windows too sad.
We are excited to announce Relief Properties is now Mancuso Homes! www.mancusohomes.com
Wow wow wow
Quit the excessive doom & gloom!
I'm really disappointed in the shows that this network continue to do i feel they can have some shows that diy so homeowners can be inspired to do some work on there homes. But this show is really good I seen a lot of homes similar in Gary Indiana. And the only thing contractors want to do is demo and rebuild. This show can really be the start of rebuilding in Detroit or similar areas.
There is one for Detroit, it's called bargain block
Demolishing and rebuilding is simply cheaper than fixing what is broken.
Liked it until I saw they painted the exterior brick white... Completely ruined the charm and character of the house.
We get it. Not everyone is a fan of painted brick.
Why wouldn't u build the master around that gorgeous fireplace.
It absolutely beautiful, but there’s no bathroom for the two regular bedrooms to use. U have a half bath downstairs, then the two full bathrooms are only accessible from within the two suites. Seems like a bit of a design flaw.
There are 3 full baths and a powder room.
@@MancusoHomes that would make more sense. I suppose I missed where it was on the drafts. Good job! Y’all do great work.
Oh you poor loves...brick is painted over...how sad! Who was supervising? And have you never heard of paint stripper? Buying the tub...where's your job list and timeline? You should be coordinating daily. Stop being so stressed out and manage your build.
Where can we get to see your reno jobs? We'd love to watch and learn from The Perfect One.
I get tired of white and charcoal. It needs color. Even just a blue accent tile. Oh well...
Which couple bought the house?
modern Victorian
Both houses were bad plays for anyone but you.
The irony of a reality show is that it is all staged
Well... I know these two personally. This is DEFINITELY not staged.
RIGHT!!
That there is staging is not exactly news. 🙄
So if they got what they originally asked they would have not made a profit? Bit confused.
These house prices seem a little high for those neighborhoods. Any place in either Lakewood or Ohio City is only a few blocks away from some pretty scary neighborhoods
Renovated homes in Lakewood have been consistently selling in the $350-$500k range for about 3 years now. We sold several that were $500k+ Supply and demand dictates price.
Did they not make any other gut job after this ? Can’t find any episodes
Just the one pilot episode was created. No more HGTV scheduled, but we will start making more content soon!
$1600 is nothing to spend on a project of this magnitude. Makes old feel cheap sad sad sad
More like $160,000 for the Reno. The exterior brick should not have been painted, it ruins the style of the house.
Nice but needs some designing and Color even the outside is white. There is such a thing as colour
Espectacular la casa, pero los muebles con detalles negros o el piso me deprimen, no me gusta el negro
The design style was good, but the staging was not. I am sorry! Y'all should use professional home stagers.
