    I am using just 1 plate from a 10 gallon kit, because I have an odd 'tall' tank. It fits perfectly.

    To get those clips on the bottom off, you can just fold the longer sections down with some force. They bend back and forth and then pop off. They don’t pop off clean but I way able to get the owners clean with some stainless steel scissors

    You should do a setup on how to use the Penn-Plax Under gravel Aquarium Filter tray in Reverse flow and how to set it up.

    I love undergravel filters! I don't think the shop vac thing is necessary unless you are really overfeeding your fish. Just a light gravel vac when doing water changes. Too much gravel cleaning will ruin the filter because it works off of beneficial bacteria growing on the gravel. Some people will vac half the gravel one week and half the next.

    What would happen if you do not join the two blue filter plates together? That's what I did to my 29 gallon aquarium because I can't connect the two. Does it make any difference? What are the repercussions? Please respond because I am so concerned. Thank you.

      Just make sure to fill the gap with gravel. Your good to go. If you have e algae eaters they will take care the stuff in that gap

      Sir, what I am trying to say is that I was not able to detach or snap the sides of the plates and join them together with plate locking clips. So the filters function as two small separate entities each occupying half of the aquarium. There is no flow between the two. Will this make a difference? Will the filters function less efficiently? Thank you for your patience and response.

      @@leonuy3944 As long as you have a lift tube connected to the individual plate and are running an air stone in each tube, the plates will work fine independantly.

    Can i use any gravel like sand or other material

    • @ThomasReviews
      @ThomasReviews Рік тому +1

      i have used the regular gravel. Sand will probably go thru the holes and defeat the purpose of having the gap space
