hi! I've been trying the tool, is great but don't know how to make a proper fill in the letters i'm trying to engrave. It always left a lined pattern. Have any advice?
Great video. I wish to cut out an image on recycled soda can aluminum and I thought maybe I could use the engraving tool. Have you done anything like this? Do you thinkit could work for me? Thankyou for your thoughts.
I haven't done this myself, but I feel it could work. But without testing it myself I can't give you a definitive answer. The material needs to lay flat on the mat. You would need to use double sided tape to hold it in place. You can also contact the company direct as they have tested their product on a wide variety of materials. Here is the link www.zoomprecision.com/
Great info... thank you. Do you think this tool would work on the Brother DESIGN N CUT machine? I know i can feed the thicker gauge material into my machine since I can't adjust the bed BUT my interest in this tool would be limited to very light gauge material. I am mainly curious to know that buy this tool would met my neds on my machine. Thanks for your thoughts.
I think it should work BUT I don't have a Design n Cut so don't want to give you incorrect information. You might be best contacting the maker of this tool and ask them as I know that they did test it on different machines. Here's a link to their Contact form: www.zoomprecision.com/contact
How well does the machine handle having numerous blanks on the mat to engrave? Does it need to cool down or "rest" every so often? Are there any tell tale signs to look out for that the machine has done too much engraving? I didn't want to stress my machine. But at the same time I wanted to make the process of etching/engraving materials faster.
Engraving is not the sort of thing we do very often which means we haven't tested it with bulk engraving. So I can't really provide a solid answer to your question. May I suggest you contact the company direct as I am sure they will have tested it thoroughly and be able to give you a definitive answer.
We haven't tested this on the SDX. I would try it on auto first and see how it goes, but I would also suggest contacting the company and get their advice.
Hello, i'm also planning on buying this machine instead of cricut coz i think it's easier to use. Hehe. If i may ask, are the blades used for engraving is also from Brothers or is it other brand? Thank you! 🙂🙂
@@alandacraft thanks for your reply and tutorials.. 💕💕 Just got my machine and I'm loving it.. I think i have made the wise decision to buy Scan n Cut instead of cricut/silhouette.. Just print my stickers and let the machine do the rest. Best purchase so far.. 🙂🙂
The link is on the website Robyn. www.alandacraft.com/2021/01/20/zoom-precision-engraving-tool-review/ We haven't tried the Chomas creations one so I am unable to comment on that.
Thank you Janet, and I hope 2021 is bright and beautiful for you. We have lots in store for this year, and will be sending out an update newsletter shortly.
I'm not sure as I haven't tried to engrave on plastic or PET. Here is a link to the company, I am sure they will be able to help you with your enquiry www.zoomprecision.com/
Does anyone have any experience or know how to get the enhanced image tracing for the scan n cut? I can't get any of my scans to complete well. There's always something missing... from uploading also.
I recently purchased the ZOOM laser tool. I have tried to import little designs (like monograms, etc) onto the aluminum that came with the tool. My scan n cut give me the message that the image is removed because it is too small. I tried the larger rectangular piece, with an I (heart) you message (from the canvas workspace) and the same thing happened. How do I get my designs to print on smaller areas?
Usually when you get that message, it means only the very small parts of the image have been removed and not the whole image. Is that what is happening to you or is the whole image being removed?
@@alandacraft The whole image was removed, but I was trying to make the design in canvas workspace. After I messaged you, I tried making the design directly on my scan and cut and it worked. Thank you for your help and your helpful videos.

Thank you Gilly :) We do love our ScanNCut.

First time seeing a machine like that. So many new gadgets to use.
We love our ScanNcut, it's great.
Fabulous! Thanks for the demonstration 🙏
Thank you for sharing this engraving tool.
You are most welcome 😊
Great....something else that I didn't know that I needed to have. Haha
😁 I know just how you feel, Leticia.
ROFL🤣🤣🤣

Absolutely fantastic video thank you! Can't wait for mine to arrive :)
I'm pretty sure you will have fun creating some lovely bracelets Jana 😊

Does the metal etching create metal fragments/trash? If so, does it scatter it on the mat or is there a chance it could damage the ScanNCut?
I haven't found that it creates a lot of metal trash, Karen. The filings are minimal and seem to stay within the etching range.

Wondering if you have tried acrylic sheet to engrave on yet?
We haven't tried it as yet. Just check with the company for more information. Here is a link to their website www.zoomprecision.com/
Thank you so much for this - i am hoping i can get the zoom in the uk, i'm using sdx 1200 so do i need to alter pressure or leave it on auto

@@alandacraft Thank you.
Looks great. Where can this tool be bought in Europa, or is it only in USA?
I suggest you contact the company to check their policy. Here is a link to their contact page www.zoomprecision.com/contact
Does it work with new sdx 1200?
I tried this out and i am failing to get gwt a deep engraving. how many times should i go over my engraved design to get a deeper etch like you did?
I cannot get mine to fill in on the lettering I use. Just makes lines on the letters.

The zoom used in the video is from Zoom Precision. However, Brother do have an engraving tool as well.

We used Sellotape Double Sided tape in this video.
Do you have to have a special mat to use this tool?
No Betty, we just used the Standard Mat.

What pressure and speed settings do you use?
Here is a link to the information on the website Beata, www.alandacraft.com/2021/01/20/zoom-precision-engraving-tool-review/
What mat would l need to use
You can use any of your mats for this including a mat that has completely lost all of its stickiness as the two-sided adhesive will hold it in place.
Where do you purchase your blanks?
We used blanks from Zoom precison (www.zoomprecision.com/) and also from our local Spotlight store here in Australia.
@@alandacraft what is the maximum thickness for the metal tags?
Which ScanNCut are you using?
We used the engraving tool on the ScanNCut 2
