Hi! you have a good stuff going there. I know it is hard to live by art itself because some succeed and others no at all. How long have you been doing comics and if this is your only source of income, its "enough " to live by? I have been drawing since I was a kid, of course there is still plenty to learn, but I always am very concerned to dig in and learn more and don't pay off. I would appreciate your feed back. thanks .
To answer your first question : I've been doing this comics for a little under a year at this point. I had a previous comic 2 years ago but only worked on it for about 2 months. No i make no income from my comic work as of now, I am a fulltime freelance artist / designer / sometimes animator the comic is my personal project. As far as digging in and trying something new. Do it. Every time you can. There is no reason to hold yourself back from something that you may love. Even if you find that comics are not for you, your brain will still grow and learn from the act of trying new things and breaking the mold. I'm not saying drop everything or quit your job to make comics, I've been working on the first issue of Wytchborne for months because I'm still drawing it when and if I have the time between my job and life stuff. But that doesn't mean I'm not giving 100% to when i do work on my comic. So take your time. Even if it's an hour or two a day, just try that thing you wanna try. You'll suck at it at first (unless your an annoying prodigy lol) But you will eventually see the pay off. maybe the pay off isn't what you expect but I think that you will be more satisfied that you tried rather than wondering what if ? Life's to short to be concerned with "failure" there is no failure in trying because you beat the version of you and 80% of the planet that never did the thing that they wanted to try but were to scared to. ok sorry for ranting. TLDR Get out there and make something awesome !
I really appreciate you take your time to answer my question. I remember when I was a kid a used draw day in day out. Now I’m neglected it I gotta get back to it. Thank you so much for your inspiring words, I wish you great success on your endeavors.
'It couldn't be any other city because it's a marvel comic' had me howling 😂 Great advice and thoughts on flow! I have subbed!
