#1: For 120hz, just get an external battery headstrap. You should already have replaced the headstrap by this point, might as well spend a little more on a battery one. #2: Hand Tracking does not decrease battery life a notable amount. It is extremely negligible the difference it makes. #3: Almost none of these are actually battery life concerns other than 120hz. The only thing I would recommend not having on is the voice commands for the aforementioned (in the video) privacy reasons.
The 120hz does not require much more power than the 60 it runs at normally. The table and couch thing: "Turn that off for the sake of everybody else" What are you even talking about? Who are you effecting by having that on? Certainly not me. Bluetooth off: Yeah it helps quite a bit to turn it off. Not because it uses lots of cpu, more because its periodically looking for devices to connect to. Hand Tracking off: Yeah, its kinda neat but everyone i know doesn't use it. To be fair when the controllers are on, it doesn't use any extra energy if the feature is turned on. The only difference is it turns off the even that when you set your controllers down it tried to look for your hands. Not a big battery saver by turning it off, so definitely not a MUST. Voice control: It's dog doo, turn it off. Facebook is evil, though in their policy they are not listening to you all the time only when you invoke the command and search/ask for something. With that being said, anything you can turn off that you are not actively using in the settings can potentially save battery life.
Honestly I think people would be less frustrated or downvote less if you just phrased these videos differently and didn't make the titles as clickbaity. Like all the settings you mention in these videos are useful to somebody, people like them and use them regularly. To your credit you do acknowledge that some people have use cases for each, like the productivity users and bluetooth keyboards, and acknowledge that bluetooth tends to be fairly low power anyway. Like it is nonetheless a good idea to remind people that these settings exist and could affect battery life, and to let them make an informed decision on whether or not to leave them on, but saying "You MUST Turn Off NOW!" implies that they're a bad choice for everyone. The only one I really agreed with was the voice control audio storage option for privacy; that is probably a good choice for everybody. I get that it feels like you have to grab people's attention UA-cam these days for views but honestly I feel like your videos otherwise have a quality that could speak for itself, if you were just willing to give a little more nuance in the way you present your information. Also, if a game doesn't support 120Hz, does leaving 120Hz on actually still drain the battery? Or does the game just default to it's highest supported framerate, like 90Hz? Same with hand tracking. Like if the game isn't using it, isn't that basically no different from having it off in the settings? Like it only takes battery for the CPU as you say (or more likely the GPU) if the processor has to actually render those extra frames, AFAIK.
this is the best comment on this video, totally agree, wish he wasn't so You must do this about almost all of it, soany things won't effect battery life or processing power to a noticeable degree or at all, like the desk/couch options, I have that on all the time so I can get a drink from my desk or play a flat PC game with Virtual desktop on my couch, also Bluetooth, I mean how can you really turn that off? Im assuming the Quest 2 controllers are Bluetooth anyways good day.
if you really want to save battery life the the number 1 thing you NEED to turn off 100% of the time is the power button. when you quest 2 is on it drains your battery so to fix that just turn it off. This extends your battery life indefinitely so that it never runs out again. just turn it off. Your welcome.
I played vrchat and someone used an avatar so messed up that it crashed and glitched everyone's headsets making it unable to use. Luckily i got it working again
these all seem like personal preference and not things that would appeal to a wider audience. Sure, saving *some* battery is useful but at the end of the day you're really only gonna notice it in Pavlov 😂 along with that, the mic isn't ever really off. Take ads on your phone. If you talk about one thing, that exact item will be on Instagram or somewhere else. The mic is always on and I doubt the companies will let you remove it 😂
Thanks for the video I just got one of these. Is there a way to disable the People thing? Who are these people that meta thinks should be my friends? I don't want it....Thanks for the tips..
Nice tip buddy but slow down a bit. You are jaming a lot of good info that should have some time to digest. But thanks for the info. (Yeah I can set the playback speed but not the same)
GenZ will never beat the tech illiterate allegations it seems. No, games will not push for 120FPS just because you have the screen refresh rate at 120Hz, the screen will refresh at 120Hz even if the game runs at 60FPS. And even then, the difference in battery drain between 72 and 120Hz is negligible. GPU and CPU level, or "texture" size (it's render resolution, no idea why it's called texture size in the settings), are settings that _will_ drain the battery faster.
He's talking all kind junk not battery life to fix it, I've no issue before since like I noticed my battery dying much faster than before, I don't why can anybody explain this Thanks!!

That's just games trying to load or crashing, so don't worry about it. There's no setting to turn it off.
It’s called Vignette. Most games have a setting to turn it off.
