Keep Her!!! The stars aligned like you pointed out and brought her into your life. We have 2 dogs and 1 cat. They all found their way into our life. We never went looking. We had 3 but Lost our oldest dog "Bear" last week after 12 years. I am a 44 year old man and don't remember the last time I cried so much. But they are innocent souls full of love. Anyways I vote keep her. She has a lot of love to give.
Anyone who could leave an animal behind like that is a horrible person. Thanks for saving the pup.

I like the name Fate. Roe having a protector is a good idea. Surrendering her is so hard because you don’t know who will take her. I love the brindle coat. Sweetie can teach her a lot, too! So, you asked, and I say keep her!

What a sweet puppy!! It's been 50+ years since I've had rabbits, but I do have 2 dogs and 2 cats, so I know that since your non-canine pets are used to another dog, they will adjust to the puppy. It will just take time...often even as long as it takes for her to lose her "puppy enthusiasm"...and the puppy will learn to co-exist with them if you train her to.
You make excellent points re: pros and cons...and all are very valid. A couple of things you didn't mention (and may not have thought of) are, first, having a well-trained older dog makes training a puppy SOOOO much easier. I have female labrador retrievers, and when the older dog gets to approximately 7 years old, I get a puppy. I've done this twice over the last 20 years and can tell you that it shortens the training time remarkably. The second point is related, and probably not something you want to focus on, but the life span of dogs is inversely related to their size...i.e. the larger the dog, the shorter their lifespan. Mid-sized dogs like Sweety (and my labradors) only live 10-12 years on average (sometimes longer, but they're typically pretty slow and immobile if they do). So if Sweety is 10, this puppy will be fully developed at 2 years old or so around the time Sweety moves on to the Farm in the Sky. Hard to think about, but a reality of life. And having a younger dog when that time comes makes the loss much easier to deal with. This puppy may be God's way of helping you with that transition.
There are so many sweet-hearted followers of this channel. I bet some of these folks would step up and adopt the pup.
Talk about Fate Unbound. So weird that two people totally capable of healing and raising her would find her before the predators and all the things that had to line up for you both to be there at the exact time including the holiday weekend and closed shelters to make you fall in love with her. Obviously, it's your decision to make, (no judgements) but it feels like the universe is giving you this opportunity for a reason. Maybe your RV videos, will now include puppy raising.
Thank you for rescuing her! the universe absolutely brought her to you. I hope for her sake you keep her; it's meant to be. All of my dogs are and were rescues and everyone was meant to be with me. I think she may be mixed with a Border Collie. Thank you both again for you big hearts!

We decided if we don't keep her we're going to find her a home with experienced pit owners, no shelter. But it's looking like she's staying with us haha.

We too are traveling in a Motorhome and came upon an 8 week old puppy that came out of the Mesquite off Fort Grant Road North of Wilcox. Her name is Chaco, we found her on Saturday Dec 2nd , no shelters open so we decided to foster her for the weekend, that was two months ago😀
Please keep her and save her from a life of who knows what I have a pitbull myself and I know what happens to them out there. God bless you.

Two of my greatest dogs were pit bulls with lab in them, both females and both rescues! They know when they have been saved! She will protect that motor home! Keep her 😇

If you only had one RV, I’d definitely say get her to the pound. But you do have 2, so I say keep her. You obviously are great pet owners, and I can’t imagine she could find a better home.

There’s a saying that if you need something done, give it to a person who is already super busy. I think the same could be said of a lost pet…you guys are already super qualified! Oh…and maybe “Lucky” would be an apt name for her.

So glad you found her. 🩷 how cruel some people are. Just to leave a puppy or any pet out there anywhere. If you’re going to drive out to dump them out in the middle of nowhere, why not take them to a shelter? Makes me so sad. 😞
The only one who can say if it’s right for you guys is you. But I can tell you most people won’t put the time in that you would and it’s hard to say how her life would turn out. You are in a unique situation in that you do have two campers so there is some built in space that most other full timers don’t have.
My husband and I were full time for 3 years with our 4 dogs and 6 cats. Then we bought a house and 2 1/2 years later are trying to get back into the RV full time. We still have 4 dogs and 6 cats. We make it work by having two trailers as well. We and the dogs live in one and the cats have the other. They have had a camper longer than we have due to landlords not allowing cats. But I totally get the feeling of having too many and not being ready to commit to another one. Good luck! Seems like a total sweetie!
Hopefully with time Sweetie and the cats will grow to be more comfortable and maybe even like her, and as she grows up she and the rabbits should get used to each other as well. She truly seems like the sweetest little thing! And with Sweetie getting older, it may be nice to have a little pup around.. Good luck to you guys with whichever choice you make and know you are supported either way! I know ultimately you guys will choose whatever is best for all involved.
If you do keep her, you could name her something like Honey (to go with Sweetie) or Arizona (since that's where she was found!) Side note: Pitties really are just the best!

Keep her. She loves you and you know how to raise her properly. I think you would always wonder what happened to her if you surrendered her. She has learned to trust you and by getting rid of her will make her lose more trust in humans.

One last comment: every dog I’ve had has trained not to bite me or furniture very quickly by me, catching them immediately, whimpering, like a hurt puppy, and when they stop and look at me, confused, giving them a chew toy and praising them when they chew it. I’ve never had to take very long for them to catch on.

Keep her, sweetie is a large breed and into the double digits and I know you know what that means. She is a great addition, she will be there for you for a long time. She will give Roe a protector, she will learn that cats are not toys. And you two will be the best parents she can get, and you will regret and be anxious for her if you surrender her. And Bindie.

Plus, if you ever want to stay in an RV park, most won't allow pits. I am not a huge fan of pit bulls (been bitten), but I would never wish them ill or not be sweet to them. My brother has 2 and has tried to rent place after place and was turned down because of his pits. You did a wonderful thing by picking her up though. Thank you for that. David, you guys are so good to her. No one would give her a better home than y'all would.
You’re the latest recipient of the puppy distribution system. It was meant to be. Sweetie can teach her how to be a good normal well mentally stable dog. I say keep her but definitely work on the separation anxiety.
It's amazing how much this puppy looks to Sweetie for behavioral cues. Sweetie is a very calm dog and it's rubbing off on the puppy.

PACC shelter in Tucson is good with those breeds. My uncle was a volunteer pit breed walker for them.

I feel your dilemma. I do wanna point out, if you should decide to keep her, your 10 year old dog will absolutely train her in behavior. And the cats will basically get used to her to. The two valid worries are the cost of vet, bills, and the well-being of the rabbits. I have to believe you will find other nomads in need of a sweetheart like this where you are. Whatever you decide, best of luck.

You're such a good daddy, David. What a sweet, sweet story. What do I think? Well, I think that only you can decide if this puppy is a great fit, and only time with her will tell you that. On our side, I think you all look like a match made in heaven. I think from my perspective, having a pitbull in Roe's RV would definitely be a wonderful thing both for company and safety. But I'm not the one staying up at night, training her, feeding her, and working to get her to integrate well with the kitties, bunnies, and of course, Sweetie. I think that no matter what the outcome will be, you need to give it a shot until that moment you both decide 100% that she is or is not the right fit for you. Be patient with the process; that's the only way to never have regrets about whatever choice YOU decide to make. As for a name... I dunno... a lover... a beauty... I see her and the name Shania (Twain) strikes me. I wish I could take her if you decided not to keep her. Something to consider, maybe. Thank you for filming this. I know it's a lot of work, and we really missed you when you were gone. Oh... and sorry this is so long, but I wonder: I want to take better care of my bunnies, and we do live in an RV. I'd love to see some videos on how to take care of and keep rabbits in an RV... nail trimmings, toys, housing, etc. I seriously can't figure-out the toys they'd like. According to the bunnies, I'm clueless and always get it wrong. I don't feel like I'm doing my bunnies justice, and when I look at them, I think, "Roe would know what to do." Gosh, so so many words. Poor pup! I found three pups by side of road, I kept one and gave two away. The pup I kept turned out to be the best dog I have ever had! Similar timing situation as you, strange how things seem to work out. Somehow it was meant to be, aww she is so cute!!!
She's not going to find a more loving home and owners. She is so sweet and good natured❤❤❤ Sweetie will eventually adjust to her she may just be a little too rambunctious for her right now and Sweetie will need extra love. She will learn from Sweetie. I have 3 dogs and they always copy eachother in different ways.
