I love to watch Debbie rewire a boat. She's an artist.

That wiring job was a “birds nest”. It’s what happens when someone knows just enough to be dangerous! I had a 43” fiberglass house boat. The previous owner needed a taller terminal than the “house battery” could provide. So he made remote terminal with a piece of plywood and two carriage bolts sticking out of it. Here’s the real kicker, no fuses or breakers to all the accessories he wired in. Most of the wires had stiff cracked covering, loose connections or solid conductor house wiring. Several signs of overheating. Pure luck this thing didn’t go up in flames. That man and wife team did the right thing, rip it out and start over fresh. I love to repower boats. It’s great when you get to run a new harness. New gages are a must or a glass cockpit. I actually like both analog gages + a display. Easier to get a quick status of everything in bright light.

That black steering wheel won’t be fun in a Florida sunny day! Not sure who the genius was on that decision!

That wiring looks like the boat I bought. Needless to say I’m in the process of rewiring it. I decided that when I bought it

No way the 200 Yamaha SHO was included in the 10k in upgrades.

When you post the prices of total rebuild, that doesn't include the price of the motor does it? I mean, those are $10k-$20k alone aren't they?

Depends on the motors. For the Contender the motors are probably close to 40k for the pair if they’re 200s.

In this case the boat already had the engine included in the original price of $15k. He did $10k in mods so $25k total in the boat. Some projects don’t have an engine so when they show the cost of mods that includes the engine.
