I have a feeling that Kendrick’s response will be unconventional topic wise. What I mean is there’s the 8 Mile “dis myself” angle that has been done, there’s the Adidon exposure type of angle that has been done, then there’s the run of the mill solid bars and flows angle (basically what Drake did on Push Ups) solid but not groundbreaking. Given K-Dot’s history and considering this is probably the biggest beef he will ever have, he should go the innovative route. Make something new to the diss game. Like really get into a TPAB level of detail of how they are different and why that is bad for Drake’s future. Essentially, make him feel like all of his choices in life have been terrible. I dunno. Just a thought.
I gotta disagree with the “steroid” analogy. Nobody considers Barry Bonds one of the greats after that steroid use was uncovered, Lance Armstrong got his medals stripped when they found out he was using steroids, in the lifting community they have separate competitions for people juicing, because it isn’t comparable to put a steroid user vs an all natural lifter. Even if Drake gives the credits for people writing, he didn’t write it, so he can’t complain to be the best in a field where your writing ability is the main component to judge your abilities, especially when Drake’s main claim to being the greatest is his hit making abilities, when he isn’t writing all of the hits. Now Drake CAN make a claim as one of the all time hit making artists, but not as an emcee. He’s just in a different category.
I understand your perspective on Drake but saying NOBODY considers Bonds a great is just false. The hall of fame voters might not put him in Cooperstown but I don’t know anyone who would say he isn’t one of the greats.

He was a gold glove outfielder with a cannon, stole bases, and hit for a high average. He was going into the hall either way. Steroids is the only reason he’s isn’t in there. Take away the late run of homers and he still strolls in easily.
