NGL this is actually my headcanon for what Remus is _supposed_ to be doing for Thomas, at least when in concert with Logan: Logan doesn't even realize going along with Remus's ideas "for the Lulz" is actually _helping_ Thomas on the outside, by coming up with various hypothetical questions (however odd or inane some may be,) and working through them to find an answer in Thomas's own head so _he_ doesn't attempt anything too dangerous or irreparable in real life.
