to give you a real response though, if you play against a melee bruiser/tank anyways, might as well scale up your health and get some more healing during laning phase in the meantime
I think he explained it in one of his videos, in the early game people are usually good enough to not fight all in against Warwick and with grasp you can scale poke and win trades if you Q poke with grasp repeatedly it is possible to tower dive pre lvl 6. Not sure if that’s the exact reasoning but I play Warwick too and that’s what I’ve seen.

@@18skeltor cool I’ve been struggling just a little with tanks top. like mundo, it’s never really a he out scales me or beats me early it’s more of a no one else in my team is winning a lane and I alone am the only one who can handle him I can’t let him split push but I can’t just let them get drag. It really sucks dominating my lane 8 games in a row just for 3 of those games to have a mundo who most of the time doesn’t even damage an objective win.
People know not to all in a Warwick and Grasp is better at short trades and poke. Conqueror does nothing for him if no enemy will stick long enough to fully stack it compared to chunking them a couple of times with Q+Grasp while last hitting. Late game doesn't matter because he split pushes and you got WW lifesteal to heal anyways.
