You gotta give MCU a lot of credit on the plot. They're pulling in plotlines from Deadpool solo movies, and Wolverine solo movies, X-Men movies, Loki seasons, and merging it into MCU plot. Some plots should've been visible on the screen instead of just told to us, which would've been better. But overall I give them credit. Wasn't masterpiece writing, but it was great and epic!
I didn't feel like a single character phoned in their performances, and that carries a lot of weight. It genuinely felt like they were all doing it because they wanted to, and that they weren't just there to check a box and collect a paycheck, like so many movies have been over the past decade.
It’s been so long that I’ve enjoyed a Marvel movie like this one. I saw it yesterday and loved it. I really ain’t the biggest Deadpool fan, but Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine is the the baddest of bad asses. I can’t see anyone else ever playing him. Hopefully he is playing him until he’s 90. 😂 The opening scene and the end fight scene were magnificent…and both had slo-motion & older songs that just worked so well. Also, where’s my Dogpool spinoff? I’d gladly watch it 50 more times in the theater.
Just to be "That Guy...", I'll point out that Chris Evans' cameo was a kind of a double of a double-swerve. When he first shows up he's dressed as Captain America from Marvel's "Earth X".
Great Video and opinions, I saw the movie in theaters on Sunday, I had a great time would go it again, by the way nice outfit, plus your hairstyle looks amazingly gorgeous and fantastic
Elektra, Blade (my most hyped cameo), Gambit (highlight character/funniest from the cameos) , X23, Human torch, Thor holding Deadpool, Henry cavill’s Wolverine, Hulk, Variant of Wolverine’s and Deadpool’s & The Wolverine Mask - All pops
It took everything for me to not squeal when Elektra and Blade walked in. Everything else was just 🤌 *chefs kiss*. I haven't felt that satisfied after leaving the theater in a long time.
I thought it would have been funny to have daniel radcliffe playing the 5,3 wolverine i didnt expect getting choked up when deapool breaks the 4th wall at the end when he says "ive been waiting a long time for this team up your the best wolverine".
Yeah, that was pretty damn good moment. They did so many things right in this movie, even if it's not some plot masterpiece. Some of the one liners were really well done. Also that "You're the best Wolverine" worked in and out of the universe, pretty well done.
NO BS!… it’s SO incredibly Obvious to me that your reviews (especially) of Movies you are GENUINELY passionate about, are truly SO insightful and spot on and also very well articulated that I just had to take a moment to give you praise and thank you 🙏 for taking the time and simultaneously making it so entertaining and showing us what it is to be a true Fan. 🌹
That is very accurate. I've just seen this film. It was mideocare in terms of plot, but the meta humor was AWSOME! I'm not a comicbook-film fan, I don't know most of the refferences, but I still LOVED most of that.
Loved the cameos. They all brought their characters back. I had a double take moment when Blade showed up. I thought it was CGI at first. Like you said, everyone was represented well and the moments that were serious, were serious. The moments that were funny, were funny.
I felt very similarly to you. It‘s a fantastic rollercoaster of a film with a lot of heartfelt and intense cameos. But the rewatch factor after 1 or 2 times is less appealing. But for just these reasons you meantioned. Thank you for your content. As always snarky and beautiful. Have a great one girl. 😘👉
I saw this movie twice. Took my mom the first time and went with friends the second time. Loved it. The plot was decent enough, not expecting emmy award winning stuff here. The movie was entertaining as hell with lots of fan service, and that's enough for me.
The TVA stuff was the most dull parts and the plot is weak, but the eye candy, cameos and as Jay said, the arcs are top notch. I haven't seen a good buddy cop film like this since..... honestly can't remember.
The Wolverine arc was also one of my favorite things about D&W. For me, it was nice to have something earnest among all the snark and meta. I think that aspect of the script was key to convincing Hugh to come back. He also has good screen chemistry with Dafne, and it was nice to see that reunion. The Patch cameo feels like a teaser for an extended flashback scene that could've worked in one of the earlier Fox films. The Blade: Trinity crack was one of the best one-liners. I do wonder why they weren't able to bring Kevin Nash back as the Russian, and why they weren't able to pull in Thomas Jane or Dolph Lundgren for a Punisher cameo.
Gambit was obviously my favorite part. I thought the super thick Cajun accent was hilarious and cool at the same time and not many actors could pull that off.
Only thing that I didn't like about Gambit was that the didn't get his eyes right. How do you miss that? It's like forgetting that Geordi La Forge has white eyes.
He didn't pull it off. He was meant to be a one shot. That is why they make a subtle joke in the film about him being the only one who wanted him being cast as Gambit to happen.
Nah there was supposed to be a Tatum-Gambit movie 8years ago! It kept having problems like Marvel's Blade and getting pushed to the back burner.@@MarxIsDeadAndRotting
The appearance of Blade me the most -- there's only one Blade -- but Gambit was certainly entertaining. I haven't seen Gambit since the 90's.... I didn't pick up Cowboy Deadpool's voice, but I'm glad you did.
If you enjoyed Deadpool then this is really a must. It's like a love letter to the older movies with these cameos. I watched it today and enjoyed it a lot. Don't miss the post-credit scene. Worth it. ;P
Great review and a great movie. I love the cameos and fan service. I love seeing Blade and Gambit that was probably my favorite part when they walked in. I’ve always been a big gambit fan ever since playing X-Men on super Nintendo. They really really let me down back in 2009 so it was awesome to see him in live action blowing up heads ha ha. I grew up watching blade, so I absolutely love the cameo. It was a lot of fun dressing up and going there in character. Everybody wanted to take photos. Everyone had such a blast. So many claps and so many cheers throughout the movie.
Glad Gambit and Elektra got some screen time. Really enjoyed the Cassandra Nova character. Great fight sequences paired to cool soundtrack. This is a movie that I'd buy just to return to some great moments.
Snarky J.! Wow & Holy Crap! I just had a chance to watch the D & W movie! I have been sooooo waiting for this type of MARVEL moment - Wolverine pulls on his mask! A total brilliant and iconic moment! Totally comparable to Cap and his "AVENGERS ASSEMBLE"! A nice FAN movie treat! Stay "Snarky"! - Scott M., Chicago, IL.
It is definitely a film you see in a theater with other people because the laughter is infectious and the reactions to the cameos and other Easter Eggs can be quite joyous.
Thank you, jay. You didn't even mention Ryan's wife and daughter being in the movie. LOL I agree with your thought on the rewatchability. For me, it's one and done. Certainly enjoyable, but no point seeing it again.
i loved this movie. Plot is def thin, but its still a great and highly entertaining film.I think its the best deadpool movie ever. Wolverine and Deadpool have always made been a great team and rivals. They def have to do another team up with these two, maybe add cable to the mix.
Deadpool 3 is what summer blockbusters use to be. fun, stupid, nonstop action. They should have released it during the fourth of july weekend. I had fun watching it with a movie theater audience. I do agree this is a love letter to fox marvel. When you build your 90s super hero movie collection, Logan and Deadpool 3 are the final acts.
I love that both Ryan and Hugh know how to give their place to the people who work with them. How many other "superstars" would have left Channing and Wesley be at the forefront of that badass formation and flanked by Jennifer and Dafne? Any other would have tried to be front and center the whole time (Looking at you RDJ).
I agree with you. I think the plot was very loose and didn't really tie DP into the MCU at all. Sure we saw variants of some MCU characters but they were just that, variants and at the end of the day, DP is back in his own universe, with no change to the 616. DP may have saved Marvel at the box office, but he didn't really save the MCU at all.
i was able to watch it on the 6th of august, and no word of a lie, when wolverine put the cowl on and they started ripping apart the deadpool corps, i was on the verge of a psychotic laughter. loved that scene
I loved this movie I'm not a fan of gross, dirty humor but I give Deadpool a pass because he's always able to make that not the point of his movies the movies are much more than that, they actually have good drama and so on I also am always amazed with Ryan as an actor and his good taste in music he's also not bad on the eyes either(lol) and as a lifelong fan of Superheroes in general, seeing Hugh as Wolverine again was just chef's kiss 10/10 if you ask me also loved the Deadpool Variants and the Wolverine Variants and Elektra's bad-ass band of heroes best movie of the year if you ask me also, if you ask me Snark Snark, martin scorscese isn't as great as he thinks he is and as everyone says he is his movies tend to be straight up trash whereas comic books films tend to be cinematic masterpieces when they're done right, he calls comics book movies "fast food", I call his movies "mafia porn" I prefer stories that make me feel hopeful, I don't like depressing trash
I never thought C Tates could pull off Gambit when I first heard the rumors, but holy sh- he was AMAZING. I was super stoked as a huge Blade fanboy, but dude. Gimmee more C Tates Gambit movies.
I respect your opinion but I don't get some and other critics saying this is plotless, the story is clear and simple to me and I love this movie. The best deadpool movie from the first two and probably the best Marvel fox film just behind DaysFuturePast
I think the meta is so meta that the film is made like a comic book. Cool mega 5-page spreads for fights, and for info dumps. Than a panel of just background. Made in to a 5-min sequence.
Thats an extremly accurate depiction of the movie, and freaking loved it (movie and review) But there is one thing, i actually wanna watch it a couple more times, because i KNOW there are a lot of easter eggs am missing. Thats the rewatch value for me
Well said indeed. As a pallet cleanser this movie was excellent. I don't think it'll have any lasting impact, but it was a lot of fun and that's what counts.
Cavill was my favorite cameo! Would love for him to be the next Wolverine! I was very impressed with Channing Tatum as Gambit.. thought the accent was hilarious.. I’d totally watch a Gambit movie with him in it! Blade was definitely the cameo I appreciated the most because I’ve been a huge fan of his for freaking ever!!! One of the fastest Martial Artists back in the day… Fastest and Cleanest too!! Meaning his technique was pretty much flawless.. but he can be funny as hell too! I liked the Daredevil joke… I loved this movie and I’d definitely go see it again in the theater… and I don’t like going to theaters anymore… Jackman will always be Wolverine to me no matter who plays him next
Great video! Love your attitude! I can get behind comparing the movie to fast food. It was a crazy wacky time but it also had a surprising amount of heart and let its serious moments be serious. I was so happy to see every single member of the "cameo crew." This movie was definitely a homage to Fox's superhero projects of the past. The intro was amazing, the fights were amazing. It wasn't an untouchable masterpiece, but it was damn fun, which I think is all I ask from Deadpool.
The QR code from the trailer disclaimer from a couple months back by Ryan Reynolds’s helped me enjoy the movie more for the second watch through. By his own admission he said the story is paper thin. The self awareness was pretty refreshing so I was able to enjoy the movie for what it was

I agree with most of what you said in this video, and I appreciated listening to your take on things. I am also a germophobe. The scene where Ryan Reynolds let that dog lick his face and lips made me gag. Also, I will be 50 this October. I include that to make it clear where I am coming from. The other thing that I appreciate, is that you are keeping it real. Your point of view, your critique, and your opinions make this video worth watching because it is like sitting with someone who respects a good story. I watched the negative comment video that you also did, and your responses to those comments works for me. Again, thank you. Look forward to seeing more of your videos and hope that you continue to keep it real. I didn't know that you did Cosplay until it was stated in your videos.
Great Video Sexy Jay in Black!! My favorite cameos was Chris Evans as Johnny Storm and Dafne Keen as X-23/Laura!!
The Age of Apocalypse Wolverine was my "punch my friend's arm" moment. Loved it.
I loved it! And sine of those cameos brought tears to my eyes with joy
Just to be "That Guy...", I'll point out that Chris Evans' cameo was a kind of a double of a double-swerve. When he first shows up he's dressed as Captain America from Marvel's "Earth X".
His sleeves.. which..yes..gave ya the impression he CLD be Cap.
Man, if Disney has someday the balls to make an Earth X movie, I'd be totally down for it !
Someone has to be "that guy" thanks for stepping up to the plate
Another brilliant video Snarkyjay ❤❤😁😁.
Great Video and opinions, I saw the movie in theaters on Sunday, I had a great time would go it again, by the way nice outfit, plus your hairstyle looks amazingly gorgeous and fantastic
This movie really was a meta spoof on Marvel, using real Marvel characters, and it was great.
Comic accurate 5'3 Wolverine 😂😅
@@TheMaskGamer2007 had me dying also missed opportunity for not having Danny devito as a wolverine variant
It would have been the perfect opportunity to have Danny Devito cameo as Wolverine.
@@sleepinggorilla Haha! That would be off the charts! ...well just because they'd be very small charts.
I always thought Danny DeVito would be fun as a Wolverine cameo. But certainly too old now.
The only other cameo I would have loved to see was a flying superpowered ROGUE
Yes with Cpt Marvel completely subsumed by her.
I was the only one in my theater screaming "IT'S GAMBIT". I loved we finally get Gambit and in Comic accuracy. He's my second favorite X-Men member
Great movie! I needed movie theater fix for a long time. Very entertaining 🙂
I saw this movie twice. Took my mom the first time and went with friends the second time. Loved it. The plot was decent enough, not expecting emmy award winning stuff here. The movie was entertaining as hell with lots of fan service, and that's enough for me.
You took your mom to see this movie 😂😂
@hoze1235 I sure did. She LOVES action movies and superhero movies. She likes Hugh Jackman also.
Your humor does it for me. Keep doing your thang. And yea, I agree with almost everything
Hey, Snarky Jay! Movie Junk food is comfort food! I can see myself coming back to this many times!
Wow. I might love this movie more. Wolverine got to smile at the end.
Snarky Jay, Brett Cooper n Melonie Mac are my top 3 favs Channels!
Good review Snarky! I loved this one too! Going to watch it again next Tues!
Went to see this with my brother during vacation and we had a blast! Great memories!
I kept waiting for some zydeco.
Only thing that I didn't like about Gambit was that the didn't get his eyes right.
How do you miss that? It's like forgetting that Geordi La Forge has white eyes.
Probably the closest thing we'd ever get to a a movie with him. But to his credit Tatum made every bit of his scenes worth it.
You Really Do Explain this very well... I still haven't even seen this, I'm... Hmmm Kind of excited
This review is pretty much accurate of what experiencing the movie feels like👏🏻
Glad Gambit and Elektra got some screen time. Really enjoyed the Cassandra Nova character. Great fight sequences paired to cool soundtrack. This is a movie that I'd buy just to return to some great moments.
Made for fans. Crazy how that is something that doesn't automatically happen in the minds of creators. Loved it!
LOL
I agree with your thought on the rewatchability.
I totally agree Sunshine. Great review 👍
Love finding this channel. Very spiff. Loved Jennifer Garner in Alias; Electra is a guilty pleasure of mine.
I was definitely one of those, "Tatum as Gambit? No thanks!" guys. After this, I'm eating my words! A Tatum lead Gambit movie would have kicked ass!
i was able to watch it on the 6th of august,
and no word of a lie, when wolverine put the cowl on and they started ripping apart the deadpool corps, i was on the verge of a psychotic laughter. loved that scene
Only here for the twins.. love to watch these videos while listening to some tunes
I loved this movie
I'm not a fan of gross, dirty humor but I give Deadpool a pass because he's always able to make that not the point of his movies
the movies are much more than that, they actually have good drama and so on
I also am always amazed with Ryan as an actor and his good taste in music
he's also not bad on the eyes either(lol)
and as a lifelong fan of Superheroes in general, seeing Hugh as Wolverine again was just chef's kiss
10/10 if you ask me
also loved the Deadpool Variants and the Wolverine Variants
and Elektra's bad-ass band of heroes
best movie of the year if you ask me
also, if you ask me Snark Snark,
martin scorscese isn't as great as he thinks he is and as everyone says he is
his movies tend to be straight up trash whereas comic books films tend to be cinematic masterpieces when they're done right, he calls comics book movies "fast food", I call his movies "mafia porn"
I prefer stories that make me feel hopeful, I don't like depressing trash
Let's talk about the plot........
Good talk
All the new cosplays from this film should be fun to see down the road.
I love the midnight sons light reynolds brought us
You do cosplay, and movie reviews. Honestly it's a miracle UA-cam didn't recommend you sooner to me?!
"Fatal" track by RZA was playing in my head when daywalker showed up 🕶⚔
It's not supposed to be a deep plot thinker movie. It's just straight murdering fun.
The QR code from the trailer disclaimer from a couple months back by Ryan Reynolds’s helped me enjoy the movie more for the second watch through. By his own admission he said the story is paper thin. The self awareness was pretty refreshing so I was able to enjoy the movie for what it was
Omg I love your videos there awesome and your gorgeous keep the videos coming
In 1997 my favourite X-Men was wolverine and Mystique. I collected X-Men cards too. Ah, those were the days😎
Thor cried because he found out Deadpool was Noobmaster69
Seen this yesterday and it was amazing
This is the third video you created that I watched. I just now subscribed. I clicked like. Why? Because you are an intelligent individual who has something to say that I feel is worth saying. I agree with most of what you said in this video, and I appreciated listening to your take on things. I am also a germophobe. The scene where Ryan Reynolds let that dog lick his face and lips made me gag. Also, I will be 50 this October. I include that to make it clear where I am coming from. A lot of your viewpoints are almost the same as mine. This, I find to be refreshing. Thank you. And thank you for doing these videos. Way to go, keep the fandom alive, and keep doing what you do. I think that many people, including myself, could learn a lot from what you are doing in your videos. Mine admittedly suck. But I also do not know how to crop, edit, etc. The videos that I do. Though I am a professional illustrator, I am not a UA-cam ninja.
Hope to see you on FNT soon!
I’m with you on the movie review
I had heard the dvd might have 4 extra hours? or would be 4 hrs long?? Idk, but I thought the whole web slinging thingy in the car ride was certainly related to something we missed. Wouldn't see it again, Ms Jay, hmmpf! That might well be a clear falsehood. That said, Right on! Right on! Great show!
It's like a theme park gets plans for an amazing world shattering roller coaster plan, and they say let's slap some theme to make it fit, and get that line filled for the ride. I can't wait to see again
One of the best time I ever had at the movies ever! And Yeah, I realize the plot ws a bit thin on my first showinfg, but it was so outrageously entertaining that i didn't care but just enjoyed myself.
I loved blades line and im not going to get it right but "There's only one blade, and there's always only going to be one blade" or so such a great line considering all the drama going on with the "remake"
I think it was Chato who called this movie "stupid fun" and that describes this movie perfectly
Great observation and insight about the way the cameos were handled: respectfully, joking with them instead of at them -- and the probably why. This is the kind of thing that makes @Nerdwriter1 and @TheCriticalDrinker great/interesting/informative versus the empty bashing of @Nerdrotic . Keep it up.
