BEAUTIFUL, VINTAGE Otis Lexan Traction Elevators at The North Shore Hotel, Myrtle Beach, SC

First and foremost, I want to wish you all a VERY HAPPY EASTER!!!! I hope the Easter Bunny was good to everyone!!! To Celebrate, we of course have to celebrate with something AWESOME!!!! And that, is this BEAUTIFUL Pair of VINTAGE Otis Traction Elevators, complete with their ORIGINAL First Generation Lexan Fixtures with Surface Mounted Lexan Call Stations!!! Installed around 1969-1971 when the hotel was built, these remain COMPLETELY ORIGINAL with their Original Motors, Controllers, Lexan Fixtures, Indicators, etc.!!! The only things that have been updated were they cab, which was redone with a BEAUTIFUL Beach Theme, and the New EPCO Chimes, and the New Stainless Steel!!! This place used to be the Ocean Dunes Resort, for those who are wondering, but it recently changed ownership and became The North Shore Hotel and is being totally renovated. The previous ownership didn't take very good care of these, and as a result, the controllers are VERY SCREWED up as you can see on the video!!! You push 8 in the elevator but it won't do anything for a few minutes till finally activating!!! I'm not sure if 8 is supposed be locked or not, but this issue needs to be fixed!!! However, THANKFULLY, these otherwise work and run FLAWLESSLY, and the owner plans to keep this elevator system original and fix it up, as physically, they are an EXCELLENT Shape, and the New Cab is BEAUTIFUL and the New Stainless Steel Doors and Paneling is VERY NICE!!!! THIS is how you make an elevator look more modern!!! Restore the fixtures and equipment to it's original glory and condition and mostly keep it original but give the elevator a new cab and stainless steel paneling, and BOOM!!! You have a very modern and attractive looking elevator, but you haven't ripped out any piece of history or anything worth keeping!!!! And despite the controller issues, these RUN VERY SMOOTHLY, the fixtures and call stations are in MINT Condition, and the Motor Generator sets are LOUD and EPIC!!! And the indicators almost fully work too!!!! You almost NEVER see that anymore these days!!!
HUGE PROPS go to the owners and staff of this Hotel for keeping this AMAZING Elevator System Original while making it look more modern to blend in with the New Hotel Renovations, but without destroying its originality!!!! This AMAZING Elevator System is absolutely BEAUTIFUL with it's ORIGINAL First Generation Lexan Fixtures, EPIC MOTOR GENERATORS & RELAYS, BEAUTIFUL New Cabs, Nice Lanterns and RETRO Curved Door Frames, etc... and I hope it remains this way for MANY years to come, and I hope this system NEVER gets modernized, EVER!!!!!

In my opinon the chimes on this elevator dont bother me as long as everything else is original i dont get bothered by the mod

Nice system. I don't get it. Is 8 locked or not? I also love the blue/green walls in the elevator. Kinda wanna paint that in my bedroom.

Glitched. If you hit the close door button in that elevator enough times it would activate the 8th floor button
