That ain't the biggest speaker. The company "Ascendo Immersive Audio" which developed this 50 Inch Subwoofer, also developed on with 80 Inch in Diameter, the so called: "The 80 Sub" which is 204 centremeters
you're dead wrong about the 1985 part, plus the RMS of this is probably somewhere around 10-20KW depending on the gauge of the coil and how many windings there are, but I'd say 2 high power DJ amps running in bridge mono could power this thing no issue
@@realchronalNah you don't need that much. It's about the speaker impedance. That speaker is probably pretty efficient too, having such a large cone so you need less power to bring the house down. Don't be surprised if it blows you into the next county with 20W. I'd be interested to see it's frequency response curve and SPL DB ratings
I think it is Bass music or Phonk. It is sort used for like cars when drifting along. There's some decent songs out there. I'm surprised I like one or two.
A lot of electronic music production involves something called psychoacoustics, so in this case, techniques aimed at giving the impression that the speaker is being damaged by the music. The Haas effect, for example. Producers might apply a 2 - 5 millisecond delay on either the left or right side of the stereo field of a bassline to create the impression that the sound is so low that you can't hear it, similar to the feeling you get when the hairs on your arms raise after hearing a jet engine noise. Techno kicks often use a secondary layer of low-pass filtered sound smeared by reverb and other effects to give an after-effect type noise, like an ugly echo that again makes it sound like the speaker is rattling and breaking apart due to the excessive bass frequencies which in reality are not there, it's just artificially perceived loudness. TL:DR; Because that's the way the producer wanted it to sound
@@Zephyr-mistbut the amounts of lows on that song def won't be going through this, I mean look how tiny that surround is compared to the size of the cone!
canada studio way back bout 40- 50 years ago handmade some big ones . they were fixtures and had sand filled bins. I dont think the five foot diameter though. im puttin some of these in my rollerskate rink and the cab and ports are gonna be long through the rediron. but ud only put enough amp power to hear correct and not destroy the building
Thats probably a Display Model. After a Certain Size of Membrane - the Circular Membrane Warps. Itll still work but the dB Levels wont be anything near as loud as a regular Woofer.
the emotion of class A, on a long journey it often happens that I hear music in the car or in clubs, when I come home, I hear my system and it excites me, I think yes this is the music!
