I've been thinking of picking up Skip Beat but I'm still on the fence. Villainess goodness! I also love the Villainess troop, it may seem like the same thing over an over but each author has their own take on it. I loved the Nana anime but I don't think I could go through it again. Ooo Moon Flower Kingdom looks beautiful, have you read it yet? Is it good? Heaven Official's Blessing is so good. Yay for Yona, it's my fave! I'm behind a few volumes, I plan to reread at the end of the year once all the volumes for this year. Great haul!
Skip beat is just a very great comfort read! It has all the elements of a shojo I love but also action that keeps it entertaining! Nana anime is just heartbreaking esp the ending! It always makes me sad too haha but I wanted to relive it in manga format and see if it’s much more different than the anime! Haven’t read the moonflower kingdom yet but hoping I’ll have time to read it on my bank holiday weekend!

I used to think i want it to finish but now i feel I don’t want. Specially because there are fewer chapters release because of mangaka health. I really want to have physical copies of skip beat but the cost is too much with the number of volumes for me to commit now, maybe someday🥺
Yeah with such a long running series I can imagine there are so many things happening! I know people do complain about the slow burn romance 😅 but I’m excited to continue the series and see what happens further to the anime! I hope you’ll be able to collect them one day! I know the omnibus versions a abit cheaper!

It is complete in every aspect Novel audio drama drama donghua and manhua (which concluded in China in either October or November of last year the manhua artist has a twitter account where they post uncensored scenes from specific chapters which are all at the end of the manhua). In the glossary they don’t give all the descriptions for some terms and it says refer to the novel. The glossary is only two pages and there are ten or fifteen pages of information in the novel for pronunciation of names letters for words for people just starting out in Chinese Danmei etc. there are forty pages worth of information in the novel including a glossary as well (included in the forty pages last about 10-15 pages of the novel).

I bought the first six volumes of skip beat because someone was selling them cheap as a bundle and now I’m like….do I have to get all of them now OOPS 😂 I kind of love how melodramatic kdrama is so I like that mahua is more like that. I had only really watched live action movies with a Chinese imperial setting but apothecary diaries and MDZS has me wanting to get more into it lately because they are both so good and the outfits are so pretty. I have been reading BL for a long time so I am desensitised to dorito chin at this point 😂

The super slow burn is the main reason I never picked up Skip Beat….a bit of it makes a story more interesting, sure…but not when it’s too dragged out (and Skip Beat is already way over that). 🫠🥰
Yeah I hear a lot of people say that! I find that skip beat for me is more of a coming of age story rather than the romance being the main plot personally
