1991 was such a great year. Not only just for OLTL, or soaps. But everything about it, especially my own personal life. Anything that can tie me to this era in life, im going to hold onto because its the same way I like to remember it. And there really hasnt been too many outstanding stellar years in my life. Some or at least a few. Thank you for posting.
It is so much fun to watch1991 episodes. I stopped watching in 1990 so I never know about many of these characters and storylines. I especially love the introduction of Sheila, Troy, Rika and Kerry. I wonder if the writers were trying to make Rika and Kerry OLTL's version of All My Children's Angie & Jessie....Angie was a good girl and Jessie a bad boy and they went on to have a long lasting relationship on the show. I look forward to seeing how it all unfolds.👀😃
It's interesting watching the scene with Bo & Gabrielle knowing years later in 2002 they would start a relationship... while Asa, Nicki Smith and crazy Alex try to break them up.
That rare scene really warms my Bo and Gabrielle loving heart. It’s so ironic that Gabrielle said she would try to be a better person for Max…a good wife that Max deserved; and she became just that for Bo! Bo told her here that people have to earn his trust and he would give them the benefit of the doubt and he did exactly that with Gabrielle more than a decade later. Her life was in shambles after Asa divorced her and kicked her out in 2002, Bo took Gabby in at first to get back at Asa for faking his death. Bo’s support and patience during this time helped Gabby turned her life around and they fell in love while she was on her way to redemption. Their love was beautiful. Bo was the first man who genuinely loved her and believed in her potential to be a decent woman (she was really sweet when she was first introduced in the show but started fighting for herself when she got screwed over repeatedly). He was so gentle, loving, and forgiving towards her. With a love like that she didn’t spiral and went back to doing being a snake in the grass again. I know most fans wanted to see Gabrielle creating chaos in Llanview and being unhinged lol but I actually loved how she mellowed out and matured when she was with Bo. Max was her first love and Bo was the love of her life.
@@ruddM I stopped watching after Gabby was killed, it broke my heart because she was my favorite character. The writing was really bad by 2003 and I only watched because I was invested in the Gabby and Bo pairing. I remember being so shocked at the spoilers that a beloved character was getting killed off, smh you just don’t kill an iconic character like Gabby. her son just died 3 months before she was strangled to death, that’s too much even for a soap. I get that the new PTB wanted to focus on other families/characters and needed to phase out the Holden/Medina fam but Gabrielle deserved a dignified exit and not the bs ending that she got. I often wonder what could have been with GabBo 😢 I don’t even want to get into how Al morphed into McBain. The new executive producer and writers at that time were hell bent on reuniting Bo and Nora and gave us that dumb paternity storyline and made Gabrielle incredibly insecure and acting silly. I only recently found out that the Bo and Nora reunion didn’t even happen until 6-7 years later and that Bo got back with Lindsay after Gabrielle. Make that make sense. They killed Gabrielle, who was perfect for Bo, just to have him paired with Lindsay again. WTF? No wonder this show jumped the shark.
This church choir stuff every few minutes is silly & a little annoying. I’m not sure what the writer was thinking when adding this as it has nothing to do with any of the storyline.
I like how sweet Asa is with Tina here. Mark that on the calendar 🗓

It's so fun re-watching these episodes. This era of OLTL was very good. I vaguely remember Alex Olanov escaping from a mental hospital. When was that?
This era was amazing indeed.

@@Namaste1030 I also liked it when she matured & mellowed. Its a shame it was all cut short with her murder in at the beginning of 2004

1st time they ever showed the exterior of Buchanan Palace. Damn,it was big. Wonder if they used a place in Long Island for location.
I love a showdown with Carlo.
Rika's got lungs. 😍
