Thank you for making this video.! It explained precasting very well. I’m currently looking for a job opportunity, and I wasn’t 100% familiar with the term precasting, and this definitely helped.
Meanwhile in eastern Europe, in the soviet times we push this tech over the moon, literally whole cities built by the same blueprints, all the same. It's quite comfortable in the inside. The concrete walls kinda conduct noise, but it's far better than wood frame buildings. The whole experience is depend on your neighbors.

If you have small children over you, you will hear them during the day running round, pushing chairs, throwing toys, and screaming, but at least the thicc wall dull it to a tolerable level. If your neighbors are culturally diverse, ... well, east Asians(Japan, Kora, Singapoor) are cool. Equally important, equally equal you are not allowed to say a bad word about of them or else people on the other way...
Not only that it's extremely energy saving and not requires maintenance at all. 2. Saves the space as well. Only 1% apartments in usa but holds 30-40% of people in the usa or Canada
The concrete Floor slabs should be used everywhere. seen to many contractors constantly getting into trouble with sagging floors. most times they get away with blaming someone else.
It also acts as an excellent fire break. The acoustic benefits are immeasurable. This is the key reason why more and more hotels are turning to precast concrete/concrete in construction.
I'd build a house using this method if someone in western Canada ever got around to the 21st century. Tank-less water heaters, heatpump water heaters and even geothermal loop heatpump systems along with ductless mini-split AC and solar panel energy seems to be prohibitively expensive to the point that no one does it.
That's great but could you also consider using clt (cross laminated timber) please? It's much more eco-friendly and since you are making such a radical change, why not shifting directly to timber
Thank you Tahsin for your comment, but the speed of precast concrete construction and a strong focus on safety is the key reason why precast in a winner. Not to mention the fire resistance credentials of concrete, most of our sites would be in tight urban spaces and close to residential buildings. Precast concrete is by far the quietest form of construction as well.
That's what I am looking for l am leaving in Africa I want to make this kind of business I need further information details examples time patched and warranty how strong is those house hope quickly reply
the whole point is about offsite construction and stop trying to do things yourself. Technologies are here. Simply order dont get in the way if you want perfect precisioned products. Precast is only one of many technologies.
Are those buildings tested for earthquakes? What about wind pressure? I see that many developers are adopting precast concrete & prefab techniques for buildings (higher than 6 stories) which is dropping construction cost & time, yet selling for same or higher value!
Harsh Gajjar thankfully there aren’t many disadvantages. Especially in light of the current pandemic when we having less people on site is essential. A gang of 10 men can take care of this entire installation.
@@FPMcCann1 ten men. That's being generous in uk. There would be one man slinging to men installing 1 engineer and two men grouting with the installers. So maybe 6. 7 if you include the crane operator.
You seem to have been given a very vague/generic response as opposed to actually answering your question. The disadvantages of any MMC are as follows: - Inflexibility of factories for fluctuating demand - Difficulty integrating MMC’s with traditional work - Lack of local materials - Lack of published codes and standards - Lack of cost data can lead to perceived or real additional costs - stigma due to post-war prefabricated housing
NISMO JOE as the product is manufactured locally, the cost of shipping would not be more expensive. Delivering the product as and when it’s required also caters for small construction sites that don’t have space for storage.
Cost of shipping is somewhat nullified as to casting in place. You are not trucking in 30-40 concrete trucks to pour a floor at a time plus the cost of the concrete pump, which gets expensive.
Come to England uk. Theres would be a job here. As there are many pre cast concrete projects all over. I have worked with pre- cast concrete for over 20 years. Mostly in London and Birmingham.

Apparently those soviet blocks are so strong, literally nothing tears them down even after so many centuries.

Amazing Vídeo. Can i work with yous i the Precast.i From Brazil .and i love precast buildung .i know patching and sandblasting panels
How do you connect this type of wall to the floor ? If the floor is hollow core slab
Do you know book about detailing of precast concrete elements?
How do you waterproof the final top floor ? can we accomplish that for rain and weather
After we have complete 2 or 3 levels, we usually install a waterproof membrane that allows trades to come in below and complete the fit out.

yes you can. first small brackets must be cast into the precast panel, which can subsequently support many types of stone veneer panels (1/2-1.5").

As a construction union president...I resent this blatant attempt at efficiency.
your right, union construction, no matter what trade is inefficiency and no better quality.
less work force AKA unemployment.
Yes the bricklayer and window fitter do not like it when they see the brick faced precast units roll up to site.
If we don't invent new technologies that require less workers we will be dominated by China and India
