- An easy to follow video tutorial on how to replace the cabin air filter in a 2013 - 2019 Cadillac XTS.
Cabin air filters help enhance the air quality inside your vehicle, creating a healthier, more comfortable environment for you and your passengers. A properly functioning cabin air filter can stop up to 90% of dust, pollen, and spore particles from entering the air in your Cadillac XTS passenger compartment.
WHEN SHOULD YOU CHANGE THE CABIN AIR FILTER ON YOUR CADILLAC XTS?
It is recommended that you replace your cabin air filter every 10,000 - 15,000 miles or once a year.
However, you may want to replace or change the cabin air filter in your XTS more often if:
-You or a frequent passenger suffers from allergies
-You or a frequent passenger has other respiratory problems
-You drive your Cadillac XTS on dirt roads or in a excessively dusty location
-You drive your Cadillac XTS in a heavily polluted location
This video tutorial will show you the cabin filter location as well as how to remove, replace or change the cabin air filter on the following Cadillac XTS Models:
2013 Cadillac XTS ( Luxury, Premium, Platinum, V-Sport )
2014 Cadillac XTS ( Luxury, Premium, Platinum, V-Sport )
2015 Cadillac XTS ( Luxury, Premium, Platinum, V-Sport )
2016 Cadillac XTS ( Luxury, Premium, Platinum, V-Sport )
2017 Cadillac XTS ( Luxury, Premium, Platinum, V-Sport )
2018 Cadillac XTS ( Luxury, Premium, Platinum, V-Sport )
2019 Cadillac XTS ( Luxury, Premium, Platinum, V-Sport )
Thanks for the video. It helped. Small note: the T25 is not needed and is not required to be removed. This is for the dvd player to attach to the unit which will be removed totally anyway.
Good Tip!
Thank you, much easier than guessing. I appreciate it very much.
You're Welcome! Glad it helped
T-25 screw does NOT need to be removed
Excellent video. Mine has the CD changer and agree the T-25 torx does not have to be removed.
Also, the airflow out of my vents tripled once I replaced my filter. If you haven't changed yours in a while, don't hesitate! Your A/C cooling and heater performance will have a significant improvement.
Excellent video, I was able to follow it each step of the way! Only one comment, the T25 bit was too large for the last screw, I used a T15 and it worked great. Thanks again for sharing your expertise!
You're Welcome!
Easy peazy.... Outstanding and simple directions... Wanted to charge me $203 for a 15 minutes job...
How do I do it w the cd player in place?
My 2013 xts takes a t15 torkx
So glad I found this before going to the dealer! My air blows very cold but faint though! So hoping this is the problem cuz I'm definitely about to turn into a pretty girl mechanic 😒😕🥴🤷🏾♀️🤣😂
So by changing that filter did the air blow cold
Your instructions made this very easy! Thanks!
That pull out piece is very tight, I felt like I was going to break it
Well done my friend ...CUDOS for a simple and easy to follow video.
Thanks!
Your videos are EXTREMELY helpful and easy to follow. Thank you.
Thanks! Glad they helped
Great video... thank you for easy to follow instructions. Helped big time with the tab on the right side of filter holder!
You're welcome! Glad it helped
Excellent video with perfect explainations! Thanks for saving me a trip to the dealer!
You're Welcome! Glad it helped!
Well, I wanted to make the effort and come back to thank you for your video. I'm someone who can't do anything mechanical. I downloaded this video to my desktop and watched it several times and then decided to try my lock on my 2019 XTS. Your instructions are perfect. I was a bit hesitant with the pressure I had to use to pull the section out, but it worked. I'll do this myself in the future instead of paying someone. Thanks so much.
You are very welcome! Glad it helped
Will this be a reason why my ac wasn’t throwing cold air?
A dirty cabin air filter can restrict air flow overall but it generally does not effect the temperature of the air - I think you may have other issues
Thank you, I didn't want to pay $80 at the dealership
You're Welcome!

Thank you for the video. Does the t25 torque screw need to be removed..? From the video, it does not seem to be holding the felt insert into place like the philips head screws are..?
I had always removed it but there a few other comments on this video from people that state they actually did NOT have to remove it
