Congrats on your long voyage to Miami. Now the real fun begins. ;) You got this! Don't be afraid of 20-25 knot winds. Your boat can handle even more. Just keep the sails low, and stay focused on the task at hand. the more you experience, the more confidence you will have in your boat and your selves. And thanks for taking me along!
Excited to see your crossing video, and I’ve said it before, your videos are very unique in how close to real time they are released. Very cool! Good luck!
Great video! Filled with great information. You can definitely tell you have done your homework on the crossing to the Bahamas. And by the way, it’s getting tougher to get your song out of my head. Great job!
Great vid - thanks! I think your next vid is the one we've all been waiting for! Keeping fingers crossed for you guys that you have a great crossing. Can't wait to see you in clear blue waters. Cheers!
Hello from Traverse City Michigan. Really appreciate all the info on your adventure, you are sharing things not many do to give a better idea of what it would be like to do the Bahama trip safely. Looking to be just an occasional cruiser for now and thinking of experimenting with my free 1973 23' Grampian I just picked up this summer. Wishing you both the best and enjoyable seas.
So good seeing you kids having fun living out your dream... You kids are totally blessed and it looks good on you both... As for your crossing it will all workout in God's time... Love you kids and praying for you... Be blessed... BBE..
Very nice video, thank you for sharing the monthly cost. it is not as inexpensive as most people think, I think you both are doing great and enjoy the episodes. being a boater for 40 plus years I know at times things can be expensive. But boats are so much fun so relaxing just being on a boat. While I am a day boater not someone that cursers I look forward to a time in the near future go cruising for a few weeks or a month or two at a time. Safe sailing and look forward to following your adventure.
Just love watching your videos, so jealous and so exciting Bahamas🍹 I dont miss an episode, I started watching since you left as I seen your story In our local news here in CHATHAM. Good luck on your crossing😊
Enjoying all your videos. A little jealous wish I was headed out there to but I don’t have a boat yet. Keep the videos coming. You guys be safe and enjoy....
You sailed Lake Erie your crossing will be a piece of cake, I looked hard at all your provisions and did not see any Crown what the hell....lol have a good trip!
50 deg. is very cold down here in Florida aint it? At least it don't last long and its warm now. Looking forward to the crossing video, thanks for sharing!
Hey thanks for the cool videos. My wife and I have been dreaming of living out our years on a boat, only recently ( the last year) have we been giving it serious thought to the point we trying decide what type & size of boat is right for us. But your channel, Wich I just recently found really inspires us and answers many questions we have. Thank you & safe travels.
I’m sure you guys have heard this but I’ll say it again.....everyone that made the trip over to the Bahamas as said “wish we had brought more beer” whatever you guys have on board, quadrupled it and just maybe you won’t be saying what everyone else is saying. Cheers!
You guys had me at Taco Bell......now when I go there I will toast you with a Burrito!!!!!!! Did you find the Bronco spray? It may be at Walmart in the US.
in that live chat this morning (greetings from thailand....again) i mentioned something about a video on YT called "beyond the west horizon." it is about an older british couple sailing the world from 1959-62. no motor, no generator, zero electric so no fridge or instruments or anything....just using their sextant to figure out where they were. i'm pretty sure you would find it interesting if not fascinating. it's about 90 minutes but i hope you get to see it. you asked for the link so here it is. i hope you like it. i did and i'm not even a sailor. ua-cam.com/video/g_RHHIV4u1k/v-deo.html will the stretch from florida to the bahamas be your longest passage to date? excited for you both. thanks for having me along. the live chat thing was fun btw.....glad i caught the end of it.
Hey thanks for joining and thanks for the link. We will check it out it sounds amazing. I’m inspired but people that do this with no engine in particular. It sort of means nothing can stop us if we can pull that off. Yes this was sort of our longest. We did do new York to Delaware at 120 miles over two days but always in sight of land. This 50 miles to the Bahamas seems more
@@LadyKSailing don't mention it. i sure hope you enjoy it. no wind vane either i forgot to say, although they managed to steer with their sails at times. good luck with the passage. at least one canuck in thailand will be cheering you on, :)
One thing you aren't revealing, the most important finance detail for anyone dreaming to do this. How do you afford the monthly cost? You said you only had $1800 in your bank account when you started this adventure
Hi. Yes we had 1800 before we moved out of the expensive house and started selling everything. Two cars motorcycle riding mower etc. We left with about 35k
@@LadyKSailing Thanks for the reply. That gives me an idea of where to start financially. Could I request a video on your long term plans and thoughts on financial stability long term?
@@riverfenix182 If I remember correctly, they already did a video on that... You should go watch from the beginning, it's really interesting. Don't forget to not skip the ads to help them out with $$$ ;)
My wife used to smoke, that why I know it can be very expensive. Some people chain smoke, I have no idea how much the 2 of you smoke, that’s why I was curious of how much of your monthly budget goes into cigarettes. I understand that this is a personal question, but I am planing a budget without smokes. Thanks.
look mr and mrs rich over here, able to buy hillshire farms instead of generic walmart brand like the rest of us!! (j\k I dont really care. love your videos!)

I’m so excited for you two. I can’t wait to see the crossing video. Have a safe passage.

Love your videos!! Very informative and entertaining. Watching while on vacation in Sauble Beach, Ontario.

Welcome to the journey. I (Tim) love Grampians. Heavy well made boats. Tough as nails. Great boat.

Great informative video, I like your planning to avoid wind induced swell! yeah it cost a lot to plan for several months of traveling!

Am very much looking forward to your crossing, you’re right not many good trip vids, thanks for talking cash, makes it real
Exciting. This is exactly the crossing we want to do. Can you share if you anchored in dinner key or took a mooring ball or marina dock?
Yes. You can anchor in dinner key but it was full up. Not much space there. Water gets shallow all around anchorage. We took a ball for $25/day
Great crossing briefing. now if it all goes to plan...
Best wishes for a safe passage to Bimini.

Your eyes are so blue in that first scene they don’t even look real. Very cool.
When are going back?
Leaving Bahamas is heart b

Just curious, how much do you both spend on cigarettes in a month? Just wanted to take that amount out of my estimated costs.
Hey. Honestly same as on land. We tend to smoke more when we have long days of motoring down the icw. We get bored and that doesn’t help.
@@LadyKSailing maybe you should get some big oars?

Too much. Cant afford it
