    These videos are getting better and better. For me the most interesting part is breaking down your postflop decisions. Talking about why you check/bet/etc. How the board texture influences it and interacts with your and your opponents ranges. Please more of this.

    1:57 how come you didn't isolate the limper when you had A4s OTB? To 3-4BBs for example.

    • @LexVeldhuisTV
      @LexVeldhuisTV  Рік тому +2

      Suited aces play well multiway. It's unlikely someone with Ace-good kicker is in there or they would have raised. SO no drawback to flopping an A and it's disguised. It gives you some board coverage as well. If you isolate every single Ax, then when you limp and it comes A hi you dont have top pairs. Huge problem. Also if you flop a flushdraw it will be the nut flushdraw mutliway, really valuable.

    Hi Lex, thanks for the video.
    The hand with nut flush, I am not sure the opponent played that bad, can you explain further? He managed to get some value from your lower flush. Only 2 cards would pay relatively decent the nut flush, that is a flush with K or Q. Since you didnt reraise the turn, the opponent can well think you may have a pretty weak flush or some sets, AT etc that would pay only in case of small bets...is my thinking correct?

    • @LexVeldhuisTV
      @LexVeldhuisTV  Рік тому +1

      That's not true really it's up to me to fine enough calls. But if you bet the nuts on the turn for 10% pot and on the river 25% pot. That means youll NEVER win a big pot. Cause you cant make a hand better than that. You need to get paid on the nuts.

    Poker has changed to much since solvers came in. Until the last 7-8 years ranges were never a thing. Now it is everything! Such a different way of looking at the game.

    • @LexVeldhuisTV
      @LexVeldhuisTV  Рік тому

      Yeah actually people started thinking in ranges about 12 years ago so it's been vital for a long time. It's what the Galfond-wave of online crushers realized

    • @jppagetoo
      @jppagetoo Рік тому

      @@LexVeldhuisTV I didn't hear about solvers and thus ranges until later. It may have arrived a few years earlier or some of the more high stakes players like yourself and Phil Galfond. It has certainly changed everything about how I approach the game these days.

    Lex, I play micro stakes and I four bet bluff (if they have the right 3b frequency i.e. >10%) and I triple barrel bluff. I know this is good in GTO land but would my winrate in micros go up if I decrease my triple barrel frequency or only four bet for value? Sharkscope stats: Count 615, average stake $3 and ROI = 73%. Near $1400 profit.
