- This is the song song Love Lives On from the movie Harry & The Hendersons. The version on the official soundtrack for the movie has a saxophone dubbed in it. This is the movie version and does not. It has been fully remastered. All the other versions on UA-cam are of poor sound quality. Enjoy!

As a kid this was one of my favorite movies. Nearly forty years later and I still love it. Rest In Eternal Peace Mr. Cocker.
My father and I would watch this movie all the time, and this song reminds of those peaceful moments, especially when he was at his darkest points. I miss you Dad.
This reminds me so much of my son who after battling serious illness for 7 years, passed away a year ago last November. This was not only one of our favorite movies, the song relates to the relationship we tried hard to keep going.. God, I miss him

I was raised on Harry and the Hendersons, and this is such a great song. Sadly, just heard that Joe Cocker had passed away.
This beautiful song goes well with E.T.

I was going through my mothers stuff after her funeral and found the vhs to Harry and the Hendersons watched it again and cried over this song and how it relates to me missing her. So sad I cannot keep the song with me.
Sorry for your loss my mum is coming up to 5 years I've been lost without my mum and still am to this day they say time is a healer but it's not I stay strong for my kids who adored there nana but Its really hard sometimes but this song remembers me of her and will always do lovely song.
Lovely song always get emotional when I hear it on here think if all the people I have lost mum dad ex wife it really is the most beautiful song for that

Childhood memories
This is undoubtedly the best version of the song. We have lost so many great people this year. To me this for them all.

Just watch this film after many years of watching this as a child . Now I have children . My daughter said she’ll pass this on to her children . Made me cry . This is nothing to do with being a monster it’s about how beautiful our hearts are to eachother sometimes humans are monsters and ugly but break down that ugliness and our hearts are as beautiful . "Love Lives On" as a fabulous song by Joe Cocker. It should have been released on a single. I haven't found the song on any of Joe's CD's.
This version was never released as a single, I only recently found out that a 45 was released domestically in the United States but not easy to find. I found one last copy in Italy in 1988 while visiting family. That is the single version.
Same here. Tried to find it too. I guess it would be up to whoever is controlling his estate now or the record company who have distribution rights?
You can’t even find it on any streaming services either.
You’d think a song from a 35 year old movie would be easy to publish.

Lovely song from harry and hendersons
This version needs a Record Store Day release. I would put this on the A side and the standard single version on the B side. The original motion picture soundtrack version is good too but the 45 in the States was not easily found. I only have a copy of the single because I was in Italy visiting family in 1988 and that Record Store had one copy left from when it was released there.
This song helped me learn music I would play it on the flute setting on my old Yamaha keyboard.

fun fact this song was written by bruce broughton who composed the music for the film harry and the hendersons so its no surprise the beginning of love lives on sounds like the harry and the hendersons main titles
It was co-written by Barry Mann and Bruce Broughton (the music), and the lyrics by Cynthia Weil and Will Jennings. Mann and Weil are a prolific songwriting team that wrote a ton of hits that you’ve heard from the 60s and 70s and obviously beyond... Mann/Weil had a studio office in the same building as Carole King!
By the way this song was released on a 45 RPM record on MCA. The MCA album version and i just got it this month.

The Intrada cd should have had Your Feets Too Big from the MCA album (first track, side two) and the MCA album version of this song too as a bonus track.
