Brushing teeth with the non-dominant hand is good but try doing it on one leg and switch the leg and the hand when you go from top to bottom. This really pushes yopu to focus and balance.

*I think your environment can play a great role in how much of a "kick" you get when you wake up.*
Edit your environment in a way that right after you wake up, your goals, priorities and ambitions are thrown right at you, through most of your senses. Without you having to put in much effort. Like having a motivating wallpaper or to-do list on the wall in front of your bed. An alarm with a fiercely motivating song/speech, etc.

    My Morning Routine:
6am: Wake, overview the day and have a morning coffee with MCT oil
    7am: Work out
8am: Shower, read, work on personal passion projects (art & game/app development)
    10am: Breakfast
    11am: Commute to university
Brilliant tip to brush your teeth with your non-dominant hand to increase brain function in the morning! Also, those breakfast foods are all spot on but I think it's important to note the benefits of fasting as well. I personally fast everyday from 6PM to 10AM everyday as a means to help deal with Ulcerative Colitis, I also find that it helps with cognitive functioning in the morning as well.I have the benefit of late starting classes this term which allows me to do so, but I think as long as your body is accustomed to fasting and you are getting enough calories it can work out to fast in the morning!

Drinking water without anything to slow gastric emptying means the water will simply run right through you. You'll have clear pee and think you're hydrated but in reality will have only leeched some salts out of your body. Drink a small amount to quench your morning thirst and save any large uptake for when you break your fast. Coffee and tea will work more effectively by themselves over water despite the diuretic effect because they stimulate digestion.
This is why, despite claims to the contrary, black tea and coffee are not good to drink during the fasting portion of intermittent fasting. They break your fast. They kick off the bodies digestion processes, get various hormones ans other stuff flowing. See Dr. Rhonda Patrick's videos with Dr. Panda.

  • @distinct_mind
    @distinct_mind 5 років тому +33

Love it except for the breakfast part. Breakfast is simply breaking your fast. There are numerous studies showing that Intermittent fasting improves the growth hormone, helps delay aging and improve our insulin levels..

    • @costascostas1760
      @costascostas1760 5 років тому +5

I agree, but what do you mean by intermittent fasting? If someone eats dinner at 8pm and then breakfast at 6, that's 10h of fasting already. No need to skip breakfast in my opinion. Better skip dinner instead if you really want to skip anything.
Some people feel sleepy if they eat a lot, so I guess it all depends on your body and what works for you.

I do wonder something (for a while, too)... How did you learn your self to draw in such an amazing way?
I mean, did you always enjoy painting, and then you found a way to do it via some software or have you found a way to teach yourself to do that at a grown age ?
I just would love to be able to put some of my conceptions into drawings, but I haven't found a way to do so for now...
    Thanks advanced,
    Enjoy your evening !

Other than a couple of problem areas, this was a very good video.
    Problems:
    1. Hydration is important. Take a sip or two of water first thing upon waking up. Do not believe the myth that we need 8 glasses of water a day. If you are not thirsty, you are hydrated.
    2. Breakfast is the worst meal of the day. Abandon it entirely. Instead, eat actual food (keto is the best), practice intermittent fasting, and do not snack between meals. Breakfast does precisely the opposite of what this video says.

Skipping breakfast, and having a first meal at lunch time, allows person to easily fast for up to 18 hours every day, which has been proven to be very healthy.

Fasting is the most efficient way to increase brain function, so breakfast is a bad tip, better would be to do intermittent fasting. For those not yet familiar with fasting google for BDNF+fasting and consider that our brains are the most important organ to get food, atleast historically. Once one adapted to fasting it becomes clear how much better the brain performs when not eating all the time.

time is the most valuable thing in life
create routines to save your time and shape your life
create perfect routines to not have to waste energy and time so I don’t have make so many decisions
Jumpstart brain to succeed => the first 60 minutes determine if you’re gonna be productive the whole day or lose another day
having a routine in the morning gives me the feeling of being in control
brush teeth, do normal things with non-dominant hand
brain improves through mental stimulation which adapts and rewires itself through growth of new neurons => support new connections in brain and create new ones => just like training a muscle
eat super brainfoods in the morning: blueberries, walnuts, avocados, eggs, green tea
don’t skip breakfast => it will cost you your activity for the day

Working to develop ambidexterity has negative side effects. We get the idea that have more neurons and paths is always and necessarily good but in the case of ambidexterity training cause issues with the ability to focus. It requires a lot of upkeep as well. Better to develop new neurons by learning new skills that are useful. Spend the time wasted brushing with your off hand to brush well with your dominant hand and get on with the day.

omg, people, please stop using OCD as an adjective to describe personality trait.
i love videos on this channel, but when i hear this misusage of the term (that stands for a disorder) it frustrates me as a person who HAS an obsessive compulsive disorder (not IS ocd). this stereotypical portrayal of ocd belittles what the disorder actually represents and what people with it have to go through. if you are organized, or you like cleanliness, that's not ocd - that just means you're organized and clean person.
