Thank you for the walk through of the various parts of the boat in production, and to point out that CZone can save>100kg in wiring, which is wonderful if true. Also really enjoyed seeing all the carbon in the boat. One question: What grade stainless steel are you using and where are they sourced? In episode 261 of the youtube channel Sailing into Freedom (ua-cam.com/video/uFHo36znA68/v-deo.html), they did a walkthrough of the 2.5 year old HH55 Haifeng, and the stainless deck fitting were already rusted.
Hi Jack. Good question. The fasteners on the boats are SUS316 and Titanium. All metals are diagnosed and checked in Hudson’s laboratory in his baseball bat factory for chemical content when choosing a new product or supplier. Even the highest quality fasteners still need to be properly polished to prevent surface rust where they make regular contact with salt air/water.
