AK hand. When you're not sure if villain has a medium strength hand or a missed draw, I do a version of the "merge bet" going for thin valuebut also leaving the door open for missed draws to raise. Bet 25% pot and get looked up by worse hand or potentially raised by missed draws. The best of both worlds. Great session!
Funny how we both agree on the sizing but I would've planned on a fold to raises. I do see your merit though but I play 1-2 and 1-3 most folks don't raise much but the nuts at my stakes
The first guy is talking about a trap block bet, the second guy is talking about an actual block bet. Block bet= bet, fold to raise. Trap bet= bet to induce raise, call.
@@davidgraney3413 There aren't many games bigger than $1/3 in the ARK/La/Miss area where I mostly play, so very good players have little choice but to play the $1/3. I don't think low stakes games in the south are much like those in other areas. $1/3 plays more like a $2/5 with typical opens of $15-$25 and the good experienced players make it tougher than most low stakes.
In the A-10 hand where you went with YOUR gut and lost, I was watching HIS gut! His respiration rate increased significantly. In my experience, this is a "I'm really excited to have a monster" tell.
You're all over the place even explaining in this video. "This is Vegas on a Friday night so he can have anything" pay him off on a board where A10 became a bluff catcher at best. Immediately after u state, "Vegas games are notoriously nitty so if u add pressure they fold lol." You sir are the reason poker is alive and well. Ty for being you 😆
I think you made the right decision on the river in the AK hand. He is not calling a big river bet with anything that you can beat. He probably would hero fold KK or even AQ. On the other hand he may bet as a bluff. It does feel like you have the best hand after he checks on the turn unless he specifically has KdQd and hit the hidden nuts on the turn. Given your analysis the best way to maximize is to let him bluff on the river.
Hey Lexo. Great vlog per usual. I thought you had a good read on the situation with the AK but as I watched it play out I was thinking I would shove the river. He's never checking back the turn with a better hand than AK there, unless it's specifically KdQd. A shove from you will get called by an Ace or an extremely ambitious 2nd pair (like KK) a greater % of the time than you will run into a better hand. Personally don't think I could ever fold the river as played by villain.
GREAT Vlog! Coming from the Northeast, and playing in poker rooms in Connecticut and Massachusetts, I, too found that the Vegas game was very “nitty” in relation to what I was used to. Found myself having a really dial back raise frequency and size to get action.
I know you're not looking for poker tips, but I noticed on that loss with the trip nines that he looked at his watch after the check-raise. This is a huge confidence tell. I love when people wear watches at the table for this very reason.
That’s a tough spot though because with the way that hand played, even though it really seems like he has the best hand, there aren’t many combos he’s beating that are going to call. He’s probably more likely to lose if the guy calls. On the other hand, it’s more likely for the other guy to bluff after a check than to raise on a bluff. It’s hard to gauge the table from this blog because he wasn’t ever getting called OR raised on the river 😂
I think you played the ak kk hand great. On the river you could bet smallish but it's also nice to have good hands to check call. I'm curious what you would have done if opponent 4bet shoved preflop?
Question, i was playing 1/3 at the horseshoe a few days ago. I straddled on the button and they didnt make the blinds act first. The action started next to the blinds like a normal hand. The dealer said thats the way it is there i never seen that anywhere before.
Lex, on the AK hand- I would have bet small to try and get him to raise. I think he place you on a big A after the called flop raise. By doing so he would try and raise you off it as he tried on the flop. Great content been a subscriber for awhile now.
@dange7360 I don't see you adding any strategic comments. Just smart ass remarks, probably not smart enough to understand how things work. Must have sucked to not have mommy and daddy's love and attention.
On the AK hand, being OOP on the river I would have bet 1/3 pot.. Because the snap raise on the flop is usually indicative of non-nutted hands; let's say 80% of the time it's non-nutted. Then, when opponent checks back the turn, he likely wouldn't do that with AT, AJ, JJ, or 77 since there are so many draws out there - perhaps with KQ, but you have a blocker for that. If you bet 1/3 pot on the river, he might've even raised with the straight blocker, but you would've HAD to call with your straight blocker also. edit: you could've bet 1/4 on the river also, as a block bet. 1/3 pot is similar, but more hands in his range will call your 1/4.
AK hand: I check the river as well. Give him a chance to bluff off. Also it’s easier to pick off a single bet bluff then a jam over the top of a thin value bet bluff. What does he call with there that you beat other than AQ. Just my thoughts.
AK hand. This depends on the player for me but I would often lean towards a small sizing with plans of fold to a raise on the river. Make it 20-30% and fold to raises
I just got back to Florida from Vegas today. 10 year anniversary with the wife.we stayed at paris Friday night I was playing 13 at the Horseshoe. I was drunk when I showed up and plastered when I left at 5 a.m.. i didn't know the drink were free but when i found out, it was on. Free as in $5 dollar tips but it felt free after paying strip prices. I was tiping dealers even when i wasnt winning. I was fucked up.
Your AK v "KK" hand, I think what you did was fine if you can call off the stack. Deeper stacks might want to bluff and it would be a tough call. Leading out small would be my thinking to get weak hands to overcall.
When he doesn’t bet the turn after the flop raise you should have a strong feeling you have him beat! 😮 So I’d bet the river and if he tries to raise you it’s an ez bluff catch. 😅
I’d honestly check with a pair of A’s. The way the hand went, like you said he could’ve been on a pair of J’s and made Trips or AJ for two pair. And only slowed down because maybe he put you Trip on A’s. In short anything that Calls a big River bet Probly had you beat and Probly not worth it to find out in a already big pot. But what do I know
I think checking the river with AK is perfect, you’re the pro but I’ve played for a long time and I think it is very thin value the way the hand was played with all the raising each player is showing a lot of strength. If you bet the river and he goes all in you put yourself in a tough spot bc it’s either a bluff or he has you. It can go either way but as a pro what do you think is the best ev when betting for value now that you look back at it
The A♥️4♥️ hand. If you put her on any kind of draw (flush, straight, combo), you got the best hand. I personally would have called the river and let her bluff a brick. If you are willing to bet Ace high on the turn because you believe she is weak, then you should be willing to call off with Ace high on the river if you feel like she's bluffing there. There's nothing better than hero calling with Ace Hi.
I think the Ace Ling was the correct move with checking on the river you called the big raise on the flop and following thru Go chase the young wild things in Vegas have fun
AK hand. I try to limit myself to play suited the way you played your off suit but it was totally reasonable - AK out of position 3!+ sux. Lead was fine. The flop call was great but it’s an uncomfortable spot - snap raise is a little suspicious but in the moment it’s no fun. If villain fires a second barrel you prob have to lay it down but you nailed it - check back on the turn was light at the end of the tunnel. You could have maybe bet river because there’s no way he’s playing stop and go, and you might get a call from a rec player who levels himself into a call thinking you were attacking his weakness on the turn with a missed draw? But, honestly, you got great value from KK so nicely played.
I think a small lead there is perfect. You can get value from kk qq aq If you are expecting to check call almost any bet then it seems like a weak 300 lead could induce a raise to call/ get a crying call by kk qq aq. If he’s gonna check back his bluffs then you aren’t getting value there either.
Was there playing 1-3 right next to There. was looking into 10 20 room for familar faces for a sec. Felt weird and said i bettter get back to my game . diddnt do to well
Alright, now I’m curious, you said on the A10 os hand that you lost $700 and chalked it up to “usually playing bigger games”, but at the start of the video you said you were going to try to play bigger in Vegas and that was justified by playing a 10/20 game…. So, when you said you usually play bigger did you mean bigger than 5/10 yet smaller than 10/20? Or did you mean you usually play deeper in a 5/10?
I believe checking to induce a bluff in that AK hand is the right play. You're losing to AJ, A10, pocket jacks, pocket 10s, and will only get called by AQ. Well played imho
It became obvious that Lex was the drunk aggro maniac at his table blasting off chips 🤣
Euro Robots the besssssst line Thank You Lex.......
Agree. Lol

shhh don’t scare the fish off
Lmao with that goofy smile at the end after toasting your beer. Lolz
Great vlog! Nice plays! Beginning to think you are aggro maniac in this one.
Ending your session with shades on, walking backwards out of the casino (with a win!) is priceless.
Good win lex your game is getting better all the time keep up the good work lol

I look forward to meeting you one day!
*you explain the why and what very well! 👍

It was nice chatting with you, the fireball game was strong =)!
“I get my lame on the list.” 😂 A sign of things to come? Keep grinding Lex. Love your play and videos. ❤👍
Running good while drinking is awesome 😎 hehe congratulations lex. Looking forward to see more videos like this
I used to go to frostburg right near wvu and the parties were legendary. Keep running it up lex
I think a coffee would have been a better drink choice when you are at a favorable table.
GREAT Vlog! Coming from the Northeast, and playing in poker rooms in Connecticut and Massachusetts, I, too found that the Vegas game was very “nitty” in relation to what I was used to. Found myself having a really dial back raise frequency and size to get action.
Whiskey and IPA as a stimulant?! I'll take your word for it......
First!!!!! Lex I'm ur biggest fan!!! Give Rouge a kiss for me.
Congrats on the session 👏
Agrees with your disappointment in yourself. I cringed at that call.
I know you're not looking for poker tips, but I noticed on that loss with the trip nines that he looked at his watch after the check-raise. This is a huge confidence tell. I love when people wear watches at the table for this very reason.
Nice win. What kind of BR do you have for a game this big? Or are you taking shots ?
Best vlog to date !!!!
48k of u guys watch this video so far... just hit the like button !!! Lex is a good guy and these other vloggers put hours into making these videos
My favourite vlog, Lex. I would also bet about 25-33% with AK, so there is room for a bluff-raise or a call with a worser hand.

It's nice to see you have a few drinks and relax.
I like your AK play, it plays great as a bluffcatcher and you can always catch your villain value owning themself w worse A
Well played on the Ah 4h hand. I couldn't of done it.
I like the check call option for the AK hand. If you bet and get raised what are you beating?
Them free beverages hit and taste different indeed 😅😋 nice video mate cheers

If we count the number all-inns, I just wonder who was the drunk guy ;-)
Lex, on the AK hand- I would have bet small to try and get him to raise. I think he place you on a big A after the called flop raise. By doing so he would try and raise you off it as he tried on the flop. Great content been a subscriber for awhile now.

Calls a bet for 500 because 500 is just pocket change apparently. Lol. I wish it was for me as well.
When he auto raised big on flop I went to him having queens or kings…good play call lex! Good fold at 19:00
I feel like I got click-baited Lex!
Turns out the drunk aggro was you! 😁😎
That was an amazing over shove to a 400 pot bet on turn with the A6 of hearts on the fish! Then then j9 over shove. Who are you! You are a monster!
Why are you only doubling the straddle when you raise preflop?
Any chance you could explain your statement "depositing in your account" or if that is the same as a lock box for the chips?
I was going guess wrestling as a sport. Much respect. I wrestled one year in college.
AK hand: I check the river as well. Give him a chance to bluff off. Also it’s easier to pick off a single bet bluff then a jam over the top of a thin value bet bluff. What does he call with there that you beat other than AQ. Just my thoughts.
Tell us some Bouncer stories in a future vlog!
Nice win.
Nice job Lex 👏
Did you play at mountaineer or Pittsburgh rivers ?
AK hand. This depends on the player for me but I would often lean towards a small sizing with plans of fold to a raise on the river. Make it 20-30% and fold to raises
Hokies Hell Ya
A Q is refered to as the parking lot hand
P.S Andrew Neeme sent me here
11:42, which missed flushdraws exactly? Also keeping in mind he has raised massive pre.
Beast!! Alcohol to wake you up!! From a fellow Hokie, good on you!

Like a Lot the beer thing 🤣
Loved playing at Bellagio. Also love the match the stack 1/2 at MGM it's a great game. I always end my trip there cuz it's close to the airport
You used to wrestle in college? Do you currently do any martial arts? BJJ, Muay Thai or Judo?
Every situation is different. It's very rare a person will play any hand the same way because the people and chip stacks are rarely ever the same.
AT is an easy call riv. I suggest you start studying the game. If you fold AT you’re folding almost everything. You’re experiencing hindsight bias.
When he doesn’t bet the turn after the flop raise you should have a strong feeling you have him beat! 😮 So I’d bet the river and if he tries to raise you it’s an ez bluff catch. 😅
"Euro robots" LOL
Forgot how much I like Goose Island and Newcastle. Thanks Lex!
That was sick shove with the A4H I love that play
I love instead of coffee or a red bull to wake up you get whiskey and an ipa.
How are you able to film this?
How do you determine if you're going to play cash in vegas vs florida or even texas
I’d honestly check with a pair of A’s. The way the hand went, like you said he could’ve been on a pair of J’s and made Trips or AJ for two pair. LETS GO EEERRRS!!! What bar did you work at? 👐
When you see a bet of 420, usually it means they don’t have it. It’s a clown tell.
I think checking to induce was the right play as played. And if the guy actually had kk he's probably not calling much on the river
Cool video man always enjoy your content. Goose Island IPA is pretty damn good too btw 😁
I like that you threw down a few in honor of WV the greatest party school in the Country!
I think checking the river with AK is perfect, you’re the pro but I’ve played for a long time and I think it is very thin value the way the hand was played with all the raising each player is showing a lot of strength. Do you do any sports betting Lex?
For me with AK play, for sure I would have thin value bet 1/3. The range was cap with his XB turn.
It's you, you're drunk aggro maniac at the table. The first half of the vlog just barreling away.
On the AK hand, maybe bet on the turn for discovery. Nice hand!😎💰
Whiskey and beer to wake up (0.o)...naa got to go a Jeagerbomb man!!!

I think you’re correct to check the river, I think you can, and do some hand to Pat that would fold to any bet he would make
I like the check on the river there with AK.
Euro-Robots 🤣
AK: I dunno, if he over shoves river on your attempt at a value bet, that’s a decision I don’t want to have to make lol
Who were the French professional players?
Good session Lex!
Love the Goose Island IPA
I think the Ace Ling was the correct move with checking on the river you called the big raise on the flop and following thru

That’s gotta be poker bunny
Damm it seems u were having a good time fun video
Lex, I would have done exactly what you did on the River.
I would call with A, 10 too Lex. So you did good…
AK hand, he slowed down, so I woulda felt confident firing about $800 at the end there. Hoping he had a hand like kings
Thanks Lex
I think a small lead there is perfect. You can get value from kk qq aq
