Just from a different perspective - I arrived in Santiago 3 days ago and it was EXTREMELY busy (Ascension Day) and a huge shock to me after 6 weeks of contemplative walking. What with the already mixed feelings of arriving, the heat and the massive crowds followed by almost no sleep in the albergue due to the noise, for me the best thing was to leave so I jumped on the morning bus to Muxia. I felt disappointed that I didn't get my certificate (2 hours wait due to the pilgrim's office being overrun) but after seeing the sea and getting peace, sleep and fresh food I realise that I don't need a piece of paper to know that I achieved my goal which I can get on my next camino and that we all have different ways of dealing with the end of the walk.
All of these things are very beautiful, and really important, I completely agree. But... but... I hoped you might mention the really important thing you have to do when finishing your Camino... of course this important thing is to PLAN your NEXT Camino :D Great video, beautiful memories for me. I'll see it all again one day. Keep up the great work :)
Hahahah planing the next Camino! This process begins on the first day of every Camino, planing the next one! Thanks for feedback Robb, and see you one day on the path
I arrived in Santiago on 24th September after completing my first Camino from Lisbon. I totally agree with your description of the square and how it pulls you back each day you spend in Santiago. It’s a magical place! Already planning to do my second Camino, the Frances, in April/May next year. Loving your channel, which helped me plan before I started, and now gives me many happy memories.
Thanks Graham for sharing your story! This “feeling” that we get in the Obradoiro square is something which can be only understood once you walk the camino or if you a sensitive human being… but it’s there, every time you are coming back to Santiago! Let me know next year did you had the same “feeling”, maybe we will meet on the way as my Camino season also starts on those days ;) Buen camino
I love your videos! They have been so helpful with my preparation to walk my first Camino. My husband and I looking forward to being in Spain in September 2023. Wow that’s only 3 1/2 months away.
Dear Ricky, thanks for all the information. I hadn't any idea that what I should do when I finish. I knew that i need to go pilgrims office and that's all. I took my QR code one day before I finish my first camino tomorrow. Thanks a lot. 🙏
@@smithje36 primitivo is an amazing Camino, staying in Samblismo with Javier is a cool experience, as you can sleep in traditional OREO, worth checking that option ;) hugs
Another great video! Great use of all the GoPro features. I like the revealing shots and different angle. Looking forward to reach Santiago end of July. Well done Sir!!! 👏👏👏
Thanks a lot! Go pro has many great features like Timewrap which is so easy to use and gives a good vibe to the slow video. Hope you will feel the magic of Santiago soon :) hugs
Hi CT-CC terrific and thoughtful vlog again. The Pilgrim Museum is also worth a visit I will recommend. One of my favorite cafe bar and food is called La Flor not far from the Cathedral.
Thanks Mark! I strongly recomend the rooftop tour, other way to see Santiago. Maybe you'll share my view point- every time I come back to Santiago, it always feel special! Buen Camino
#buencamino
Ricky, i have done 3 things except the morning market & which gate opened during holy year as i have reached Santiago de Compostela on Jul 4 & Finisterre on Jul 9. Did i miss the gate? Would you please show me?
Great video; thanks for sharing! Question for you - I’m walking the northern route from Irun; so I still need to get two stamps per day for the last 100 km? I think I’ll run out of room in my credential if two stamps are really needed the final 100 km. Thank you for your help!
Hi Max! The north path is amazing!!!! Enjoy :) and don't worry about stamps, they are only to justify the distance, if you miss one or two its not a big deal. What they pay attention is where have you started.. many people only do the last 6 days that's why they need double stamps...
Yes … 2 stamps are required for the last 100 kms on all the routes. You might get away without them, but why chance it. See the official website to confirm

It was surreal coming into the city. I hear you.
How do you offer for that huge incense burner Butafemero ? 😊 to swing for you ?

Samantha! How are you? The “puerta santa” is in the back of the catedral, not far from the fountain…

The outside might be different.. but the vibe is still unique, see you on the Camino
Is there another way to get the certificate, without a QR code? I am walking in October and I don't have a mobile phone.
You can fill it out in the computer located in the pilgrims’ office

Have you attended Mass?
I went but I didn’t record botafumeiro as it is forbidden…
If you go to mass I santiago please don't bring the Eucharist (the bread) home with you
And recording Botafumeiro is also not permitted, as per the church.
Thanks!
