The Rock vs Triple H in an Iron Man match was a real 5 star match. Meltzer magoo should take notes

I wouldn't quite put Rock/HHH over Rock/Austin but it's pretty close when you view in terms of which one was bigger and the storytelling that would take place. Even though Rock/HHH interacted many more times I always felt their feuds were a bit crowded by all the other players (The McMahons, DX and their moving parts) that were involved though entertaining none the less.

Back When Wrestling Didn’t Need Canadian Destroys, Ten Superkicks, And Multiple Spots To Get Over. Personality And Storytelling Is Far Far More Important Than Flips and Kicks

Most of the ppl who glorify the Rock vs Austin feud are kids who started watching around the invasion angle. His feud with Triple H had so many more layers to it and it was not only a business feud, it was a personal one as well. The Rock lost most of his matches with Austin and only beat him clean at WM19, the feud with Hunter was way more even and we got to see them feud as faces and heels.

It's honestly close. Objectively speaking, Rock/Austin was the bigger rivalry. In terms of which was better? That can be a tossup depending on what you search for...

@@TheInsaniacGuy When I think of the Rock Austin feud I mostly remember it being one sided. Austin won damn near every match they had and Rock only beat him clean once. It was way more of an competitive feud with Triple H, you never knew who would come out the winner whenever they fought but anytime it was Austin vs Rock I almost knew he wouldn’t put Rock over.

@@jabroni_z2686 While yes, Austin had Rock's number for most of their feud, it was the storytelling and promo work that built up to their matches that helped solidify the legacy of that rivalry. For the matches themselves, yeah, I'd say Rock/Trips > Rock/Austin, but when counting everything...it's close.

How is The Rock/Triple H fued more even? Triple H never put the Rock over clean. Not once

@@jamiedrury9656 umm yes he did. The Rock won his first IC title off Triple H clean in 97 and he beat him in a triple threat match in the UK with Brock Leasner just to name a few.

It actually makes me sad when i go back and watch these shows coz u realise how superior they are to todays crap. perfect example to why big characters and storylines are more important than the stupid meltzer match quality crap

The problem with the Rock/Triple H rivalry is that Triple H never put the Rock over. Triple H would never let the Rock pin him clean. In 2000 the Rock should have won the title at wrestlemania and held it until he dropped it to Angle at No mercy but that didn't happen because of Triple H's politics.
Wrestlemania - The Rock should have walked out champion but Triple H refused.
Backlash - The Rock could only beat Triple H with help from Austin.
Insurrection - Shane O'mac was added to the title match in a triple threat so Triple H didn't have to take the pin.
Judgment day - Triple H was never going to put Rock over 1 on 1. Triple H won the belt only to lose it at the next pvp.
King of the Ring - The Rock wins the title in a 6 man tag pinning Vince to win the belt.
Summerslam - The Rock defended the title in a triple threat with Triple H & Angle. Angle took the pin.
Sure Rock/Triple H had great promos together but how can it be called a great rivalry when 1 guy refused to do business with the guy who was at the top of the company. To this day i don't think The Rock has had a clean victory over Triple H.

In 2000 when the Rock was the biggest star in the company and by extension the whole wrestling world, you're telling me Triple H had more backstage political power than the Rock? I'm sorry but that is the biggest load of bullshit. So what if Austin needed to show up at Backlash? Was the army of help Triple H got not enough to show Rock was better? What did you want him to pull a Cena and overcome the whole McMahon/Helmsley Regime by himself? Was the fact Triple H only won at Judgment Day because of the DQ due to Undertaker not enough to show Rock was better? Rock made the comeback at the end and only lost to HEAVY interference from 6 people. Wasn't Triple H the guy that ate the pinfall at Summerslam later in the year? Do you even remember how protected Rock was in 2000?

I was there! It was a great show even though the Taker surprise was kind of ruined because the smoking area was out by the loading docks and the guys were parking back there and I saw him walking around back there. With that said it was shocking seeing Taker humanized as an 11 year old but it still was a great moment to look back on. It reminds you of great times for wrestling when you couldn't wait to tune in the next night.

I absolutely 100% on The Rock vs HHH rivalry. I think it's the 3rd best rivalry of the Attitude Era. Behind, Austin vs Vince and The Undertaker vs Kane

Simba came from the fact that the crowd would always chant “Shane’s a Pussy” at Shane. Shane turned the chant around on the crowd by saying he was quick, like a cat. After that Jerry Lawler started calling him Simba.

This show was around the time Taker really started to be missed especially after WM so when he came back it really hit at the right time. Before this they actually gave us glimpses of Biker Taker near the time he was written off tv but to see it full fledged was a moment even though I could've done without the all denim attire he had for the early parts of it.

I’m totally confused. During his WM 12 review, he says the Iron man match was the best Ironman in history and now he’s saying it was kind of boring and F*** WM 12! 🤷🏾‍♂️
