There are children in elementary and middle school who are self proclaimed transgender and gay/lesbian. Its becoming very normalized especially in our youth and this will have a huge consequence on their mind when they grow up.

I met a woman who had a daughter that was around 10. She came home one day crying because she was confused about her gender and sexuality. Apparently the public school she was going to in Atlanta was pushing this crap on her. Thankfully the woman pulled her daughter from the school right away and got her counseling. Now she is homeschooling. That got my blood boiling.

I am friends with someone who is trans, and he brings up the "I knew as a child" thing all the time. I've always countered with that it's not about who knew as a child who made the choice to transition as an adult, it's about how many kids who say they are trans change their mind before they turn 18. That's why I don't support making any permanent changes to a child's body. Once you're an adult and you want to do something, go ahead, your body belongs to you. But children need protecting. They should become adults with their body intact.

Children shouldn't be forced to have permanent changes made to their bodies that they explicitly don't want, that's why preventing unwanted puberty is so important. I mean, it's healthier to just let kids have the right puberty, but at the very least stopping them from blocking the wrong puberty, causing permanent disfigurations of which only some can somewhat be addressed via expensive and otherwise unnecessary surgeries down the line, is just straight up abuse.

@@ephemeraldisle so at what age can they start going into tanning beds? Get a body full of tattoos and pierce every place they can? What age can a girl get breast implants? If all her friends have breasts but she doesn't yet, is it abusive to tell her no, that she has to wait until she's an adult to get them done?

@@LizRealGirlBeauty I don't understand your point or line of questioning, your stated stance was people should reach adulthood with their bodies intact, right? I get the sense this is somewhat an exhausting topic for her to speak about, even keeping it as much a fact based conversation as she could. Like walking on eggshells. It's not attacking people because of not agreeing or seeing their perspective. Of coarse it can be, but when one is sure to be respectful towards others in general, we need to be able to speak to one another. Especially about such nuanced topics.

Who ever disputed that gender dysphoria was real? The problem is the definition being turned on its head. Gender dyspohoria is not "being born in the wrong body" - it is the psychiatric/psychological disorder of believing that to be true. As one clinical psychologist observed in the UK, how is it that the entire premise has been inverted and instead of treating the underlying psychological disorder, you alter the body to accomodate it? Now, imagine you were to treat an anorexic the same way, by affirming their 'fatness' instead of prescribing the correct and possibly life-saving course of action, all for the sake of fearing offense. The degree to which individuals, and indeed society, are capable of deluding themselves never ceases to amaze.

I'm not sure if anyone wants to have a conversation about this (I hope you do) but I'm mtf trans and I didn't have "dysphoria" my whole life as explained in the video. The reason I transitioned was that it was essentially the only mental trick that allowed me to have any semblance of a life. I was in a complete pit. No motivation, no will to do anything. I was essentially letting myself slowly die because I just couldn't give a shit about my body. I know it's "wrong" biologically and that it is essentially a mental disorder that I want this but the simple fact is it turned my life around. I'm happy like I've never been before, I now have huge reserves of will power that I could only have dremt of before. I don't have the space here to go into why I have this disorder, but basically it comes down to the fact I was emotionally abused by parents and this is the pattern it created in me. I wish I was happy like this with my biological gender, I really do. This just works and I would rather deal with the health risks and stigma than be that useless sad blob of a person I was. Before anyone asks, yes I tried other things. I didn't want to be trans, I always thought they were stupid and hurting themselves due to a disorder as well so believe me, I tried a lot of shit before this. It's just..... the only thing that worked. If anyone actually reads this and wants to ask me anything I'd be happy to answer. Thanks for your time.

Thank you for sharing honestly about your reasons and feelings. I'd be lying if I said this whole trans "movement"? (For lack of a better word) hasn't had me wondering and hypothesizing what it is that people are feeling that is leading so many to such drastic measures. Well regardless, nobody deserves to feel such a way that they hate themselves like that and I truly wish the best for everyone and I try to treat everyone as I would like in return. But you did at least partially enforce my personal theory that much, not all of "alternative lifestyles" (as we used to say) are often part to do with people suffering abuse of a certain nature especially and before they reach maturity. I believe it probably confuses the forming mind to the nature of attraction and things. But I never ever hear any people much less professionals even suggest such connection. Tho it seems to be the elephant in the room often. Idk what would be the answer regardless. But I believe that it is completely unacceptable how many young people are being subjected to who knows what when they are too little to protect themselves or even know to. It takes a village to raise a child and we have lost this in reality and are failing our future generations more and more. Just my thoughts. Take care.

Kids are being indoctrinated and it's just wrong, absolutely wrong. If my son or daughter told me they wanted to be a girl or boy respectively, my response would be, if you still want this when you're 21 then fine, but whilst you're my responsibility it's not happening. I would pull them out of indoctrination classes in school, and they can say they hate me all they want. At the end of the day, when they become adults, they'll see I was doing the right thing.

Exactly. *Adults* who still feel gender dysphoria should be able to pursue transitions or whatever suits them. But children should not, because of the very real possibility (and, as she reports, 80% likelihood) that they'll grow out of it.
I, too, have heard anecdotal stories of people who transitioned too young, grew out of it, regretted it, and finally transition back (or try to afford to). That's a lot of trauma for them to go through.
