Currently, there are no plans to roll out the HarmonyOS Next system to other regions globally. For containerized apps, ensuring correct operation requires synchronization with the system time.
For now it is US english only. You can set a region however which should give you different date formats. Also 24clock and be set up in the tine settings

And the focus on one market alone first together with the uniquness of the chinese market and the market position of Huawei in China has a large chance for success there. And if it succeeds there the possibility to take over a global market share with this new OS is way higher than what Microsoft with Windows Phone ever had.
Like Nintendo OS, Harmony OS is also a closed, microkernel operating system, built with tools and software that were developed by people who created unix and dos operating systems. Decoupling and closing software will not be successful in the long run, we know that from Microsoft and others. However, at the beginning you mentioned something like “banned”, Huawei has not been banned from using android or arm chips. Android is open source, which means anyone can fork, learn how it works and modify. Huawei only banned from selling their communications products in the US, they cannot be banned from using open source tools and hardware, which they have been freely using for developing their Next smartphones.

The top layers have to be open so that developers make apps for it. Apple also uses their own closed operating system. Huawei isn’t banned from using linux, they wish to decouple because of deep nationalistic political reasons forced on them from the top.

I am an australian, currently living in china. Ive played about with the Mate 70 pro plus and the RS, but i cant buy one and take it back to australia, because the government will block it from running on the network, even thought it has the required bands. Bummer. I may just buy it anyway, for the cameras alone, and it will still do everything when connected to my home LAN, just not make phone calls. I can just buy a 100 dollar cheap phone for calls. I'm waiting to see the first full reviews of the Mate 70 Pro phone, focusing on the cameras. Comparing it to other phones. I'm really pissed off with the communist governement of australia. China govt does a far better job that benefits its citizens.
I really would want to try out the Mate 70 Pro or better even Pro Plus model. Just the cost for importing is a bit high. If you are willing to donate me some I am pretty sure I can get it. As for politics and governments. They all do some shitty decisions sometimes.
I think they might work on a tighter integration and license options for Google Play Services. There are documents showing this already. For now though you are safe as long as Android 12 will be supported by Google and other third parties
Android is a replica of symbian os but keep better from to time. All those icons are same , as eg ios UA-cam logo and Android UA-cam logo same the difference is platform which you are using.

Apple have no opensource its closed os. Android is, thats why you can have android app not ios apps.
