Reminds me of my childhood. I grew up in Kinari Bazaar and used to travel via parathe wali gali every day to go home from Katra Sahansahi. Yes, I tried Jalebi Wakah and Natraj in those days. I am talking about late 50s to 60s.
Wo daur, wo time toh alag raha hoga sir. Kuch btaiye us zamane ki purani Delhi ke bare mei, purana Chandni Chowk, wo galiyaan, ghante wala halwai, Chaina Ram Sindhi Halwai, Novelty and Moti Cinema, etc. etc. Would love to hear from you about the Chandni Chowk, Fatehpuri, Kharibaoli of that era.
@@chetandhingra9480 In those days, there were trees on both sides of chandni chowk. In addition to Kanwar Sen halwai whihc is still there, there was another namkeen shop on the other side. In addition to Ghante Wala on main chandni chowk, there was another right next to gandhi maidaan. There is arking lot and metro now but in those days we used to Ramlila there. There used to be a parade duirng Ramlila time in the evening and hundreds of people used to gather on both sides of Ch Ch to view the parade. I saw some great movies like Naya Daur, Bhai Bhai, and Dil Ek Mandir in Majestik. I saw movies like Sangam at Moti. There used to be Police Station (Kotwali) right next to Gurdwara. I used to walk to Kucha Natwaan every day to go to Ramjas #3 from grade 5 to 11. There was huge shop of Dr Mathur right across from Katra Sahasai.

I am sure it must had been a great time. Both, Delhi and its people were different of that time as we see it today. Less populated, less polluted, more single story houses, no builder/flats culture and, more love and harmony among each other. I have heard a lot about it from my elders and it always fascinates me to know about the good old times.
I am sure you must have heard our first PM --- Mr Nehru from Red Fort and also Shastri ji, Indira ji. And I read somewhere that premieres of some Bollywood movies of that era were held there at Majestic and Moti cinema theatres. Some of the finest actors of our industry of that time like Rajendra Kumar, Dharmendra, Raj Kapoor sahab were also part of many premieres there. What a time it was, both for the people of that area and Delhi!
You did your schooling from Ramjas No. 3. I believe you must have heard about Ram Roop Vidya Mandir school too, situated at Shakti Nagar (North Delhi). It was ranked among the top-notch schools of Delhi of that time.

@@chetandhingra9480i was the student of Ram Roop Vidhya Mandir Kamla Nagar later on shifted to Shakti Nagar across railway crossing no 2 in 1961.
In Kamla Nagar it's opposite to Prem Nagar, ground floor was Sardar di Hatti,
Later on the SBI Bank branch operate from the school premises.
I have seen the 1963 Dil ek Mandir at Majestic Cinema hall.
Amba cinema hall at "Subzi Mandi Ghanta Ghar" started in 1963 with film Gehra Daag of Rajinder Kumar and Mala Sinha.
At that time our school shifted to New premises at Shakti Nagar .

चांदनी चौक से नई सड़क में जाएं, किताबों व कपड़ों का बाजार है। नई सड़क में अंदर माली बाड़ा साड़ियों व लंहगों का थोक बाजार है,माली बाड़ा में छोटी सी कचौड़ी,आलू की सब्जी की दुकान है।
अगर नहीं खाई तो कुछ नहीं खाया।
परांठे वाली गली से होकर भी जा सकते हैं

India's tastiest roasted chicken at golden gravy restaurant in old delhi delhi-6 main road bara hindu rao in tyre market.
