This girl should be getting more attention, i used to watch her pairing with Nita Strauss in the iron maidens, and for some reasons Nita got the spolight when i though it would have been Courtney's, she seems to me a better player, dont get me wrong Nita is hell of a player too, but Ms Cox is way more accurate and her abbilitie to mimic or cover guitar solos is beyond amazing. Like i said, she deserves more attention.
She deserves MAJOR recognition and Respect! She's soooo Badass! Not just B/C she's Hot, But as a True Artist. Her personality, Her depth in Metal & Rock. Just soooo damn Kickass! When My stuff finally breaks the surface, Would Love to have Ya on a stage or track Courtney! Be an Honor and Just Amazingly Badass! Gotta Love Her! 🤘🏻👽
I remember back in 1999/2000 when I discovered Soilwork - being blown away by their riffs and playing. Then I saw their music video for "As We Speak" a few years later and that's where I saw a Caparison guitar for the first time - have always thought they were such cool looking guitars ever since. A metal machine.
CC's got monster chops! Her riff choices clearly demonstrate her deep love for metal. Not a one, except maybe Painkiller, isn't a "Deep Cut". I could sit with her over beers and just talk metal for hours. She genuinely seems that cool!
Nita is a pretty accomplished player herself.. I believe Courtney is exactly where she wants to be. She enjoys being in tribute bands playing what she does. Nita was open to opportunity and took it. Both girls fucking rock.
I CAN REALLY RELATE TO THE SEQUENCE OF COMMENTS MADE IN THIS VIDEO that begins at the 2:19 time-counter mark. The best way to learn how to play riffs, chord-progressions, etc., in a song - , is to find "live"-recorded videos of the musician/band playing the particular song, and decipher what they are playing _FROM THOSE VIDEOS_ . Admittedly, there are _some_ excellent "how-to-play/tutorial" videos on UA-cam - , but all-too-often those are wrong on at-least a few points. As Nick stated in this interview, "Find a video of the musician that _actually PLAYED the song_ , not a video of someone who _thinks_ that he is playing it correctly". You may have to watch and _study_ those videos for numerous viewings, and even make extensive use of the slowed-down "Speed" control incorporated into the UA-cam play-box; but at-least then (if you are at-all accomplished at deciphering another person's playing) you will probably be more likely to ultimately conclude a thoroughly accurate version of the song. Finally, if you _do_ watch "how-to-play" videos of songs, I recommend that viewing _multiple_ tutorials of a given song can be especially helpful. Sometimes one uploader may present most of a song accurately, but miss some part - , and then some other uploader may make _other_ mistakes, but get correct that part that the first presenter got wrong.
Her left hand fingering is so efficient it's absurd, look at how little she moves her fingers to press the frets, only as much as she needs to, mastered her technique, damn!
She's the best I've seen in a long time,I watched Star breakers the band last night on utube they were brilliant I had never heard of any of them 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
People always forget she was in misstallica too and absolutely demolished every solo. I would argue she is probably one of the best guitarists of her generation. Good to see her getting more attention, been following her endeavors since UA-cam was newly acquired by Google in the late 2000s.
Hi Ms. Cox! You are a sensational and gifted artist! Is this a full-time job, passion or hobby? HOW MANY HOURS A DAY DO YOU PRACTICE? DO YOU READ TABS? NOTES? PLAY BY EAR? Thanks! Keep sharing your talents!
Mother's Getting Weaker is a really surprising pick, not because it's a bad riff (it's absolutely not) but because it's not a King track that most people would name-drop like Welcome Home or Abigail. Great player, good riff picks
Thank you for this. I was racking my brain trying to remember his superhero origin story. I never got into Grim Reaper and know pretty much zero about them but Nick seems like a genuinely cool cat and is a beast of a guitarist. I've run across a few lessons he did here on YT and he's the genuine article. Also, he confirmed for/to me that one of the oldest and most successful guitar teachers on YT has at least one glaring faux pas in pretty much every lesson he's published and that it's not just me and/or my ears. So yeah, strangely enough I'd consider myself a fan of Nick's even though I'm totally ignorant of Grim Reaper.
Guess I'm a little behind this is 5 years ago going to look for you now I love rock music I love your music and Nita Strauss and Lita Ford all rock women who play guitar ❤
Yes sir! I had no idea what a great player she is until lately. Nita gets the press and she is an unreal guitarist, for sure but Courtney is just as great, with her own style. She is indeed phenomenal and I wish I'd realized what I was missing before now. P.S. She is purty to.🤔
After you watch, give this video a thumbs up and subscribe! 😎🤘
Cool
I’m surprised that she has such good taste in music!

Yep i agree, 💯 percent yeah. She rarely miss tone or slip or whatever that is..
Jajaja nobody understand why nita s getting more attention? Its easy just beacuse nita is jew girl and courtney isnt thats the why
Leon ...Yeah, that’s it.
@@Leon-uh9gr Are you sure she is Jewish? I know she is related to the famous composer Johann Baptist Strauss who is known to be a Roman Catholic..
Nita got noticed by alice cooper thats why.
King Diamond, Pantera, Kreator, Priest & Maiden. Yep. Major props!
And Overkill...Dude what's going on!!??
And Metallica too... find it on Misstallica band

Cool riff!!! King Diamond, Andy LaRoque is amazing.

That Era of Soilwork was Awesome. My Friend has a Couple Caparasion Guitars. They Are Ace!!

What Pantera song is it?
she was already super cool but busting out the Overkill riff sealed her immortality!!!! oh and that's some killer tone she has too, yow!
As a shredder myself I can easily say the wrong Maiden is getting the attention! Cox all the way!!!!!
It doesn’t help that Iron Maiden have been writing their last four albums while mainlining Thorazine. What a snooze fest.
Great playing, clean tight, articulate. You're the Maiden that should be getting all the attention.
is this a dig at nita strauss?
Courtney is a much better guitar player

I remember Queen Diamond! Still watch those vids from time to time. The other guitarist, Gina Gleason, plays with Baroness.
Well done, SW. Just posted my interview with CC. Such a rad guitar player, and person!

She's got great vibrato too. Like really great.
Yep, a master
Courtney is underrated! You rock!
King Diamond, Dimebag Darrell and Kreator? Damn I'm in love.
Yes! Loved the King riffs! Hail Courtney!
God bless her! Why couldn’t I have a daughter like Courtney! 😉👏. Awesome
wow, pulling out that king diamond classic.
Love her history of what she grew up listening to. When she busted out a Kreator riff I knew she was the real deal lol. Rock on Courtney!
My mind is blown, she hit all the right bands. In my opinion. Bravo.

Courtney is amazing! Saw them in Austin! Amazing player!
Wow! She is amazing! Love those riffs!!!
I love her. Shocked she never made it huge somewhere. Great person.
What would you consider making it big as a rock solo guitar player in the 2020s? Genuinely curious.
She sounds great, as always. The last riff sort of reminds me of "Mean Streets" by Van Halen.
i thought the same thing
I love seeing a skilled guitar lady.
Ms. Cox can wail on that thing pretty good. Props to Sweetwater for the spotlight.
Have Nikki Stringfield next, please
What a fine taste of this lady. Quite interesting riffs!! She rocks
The Courtney Cox I really care about. Not the one that claim to be "Friendly".
You rock, Overkill!!
Her tone is incredible.
Back in the Village! Awesome.
Surprising 5 favorites.
Love the tone of that guitar

Dammit I wish she'd be more popular than her ex-co guitarist who's way over-hyped. Rock on Courtney. ps. thank you for playing the Kreator riff.
So many great thrash bands - ❤Kreator and Millie and Sami
She seems like a nice person, incredible talent.
Great tone!
Them is such a great album. Fantastic riffs, and amazing drumming by the best drummer in the world Mikkey Dee

The problem with this video is there wasn't more. Very interesting watching her go through all those riffs and bands.
