Hiruzen, as a leader, was never my favorite Kage. Maybe I tend to be a bit rough on him? Nah. He sorta deserves the criticism. His failing to win a war that they were likely going to win? That was sorta disgraceful. So many shinobi lost, no gain. Even as a person, I sometimes wonder. His failure to protect Naruto? I mean, what am I supposed to say? He tried? Better luck next time? Bro sent a four year old to live by himself in an apartment and merely told people “Don’t talk about him” and assumed that would protect him? Was he incompetent? Stupid? Or just lazy and uncaring? I dunno. But I need to get off this train before I make an entire video about it. Wait… maybe that’s EXACTLY what I should do…

Hiruzen was never meant to be Hokage. He just simply wanted to sacrifice himself so that his comrades could escape. But Tobirama decided to make him the next Hokage.

@@TheDarkKnight634 I don't think that's a leadership trait at the end of the day. Otherwise your leaders would be dying every day.
The fact that Tobirama said he was not worth the sacrifice was because he was groomed to be the successor.
I mean, could you imagine the train wreck that would have ensued if Tobirama/Hiruzen died and someone like Danzo was allowed the reigns? Tobirama might have been racist against the Uchiha, but he never made overt moves to kill 'em all.
@@westenev Honestly, I don't think either of the two were the right choice for Hokage at the time. Sure they were both elite jonin, but neither were right for the job. I think Tobirama's distrust and rivalry with the Uchiha caused him to overlook a great candidate in Shisui's grandfather. It's said his genjutsu was better than kotoamatsukami and Shisui learned alot from his grandfather's example. A prime candidate for hokage.
Don't forget in this fanfic, the Akatsuki do not have access to Edo Tensei due to Orochimaru being dead which means that all the bad stuff wouldnt have happened in the first place

I'm sure the Akatsuki would find another alternative. But Edo Tensei was just busted.

To be fair, maybe Hiruzen did many good things as hokage in his younger days, until he grew old and started to have doubt about his capability to go on with his age and begin to give more authority to other people in the council.

And it was supposedly peaceful times so maybe he believed that the village will be safe for most (including Naruto). So he kinda get on the wait and see stance on most matters. As they said, he's a good shinobi but not a good leader.
Amagi sounds like George Bush criticizing Hiruzen for "ending a war Konoha could've won" . Konoha was the strangest village and biggest beneficiary of ending the war. However, *peace is it's own reward.*

1. Naruto would still be the kind boy that would become Hokage, because he's Hashirama's reincarnation. He wouldn't be a jerk, like you portrayed him as.
2. If Minato didn't die, Hiruzen would likely take over the academy to increase the quality of genin in the village, as he is the professor.
I find it interesting that orochimaru had to wait tell the third got old and had to use an OP jutsu (reanimation) just to kill him. And Even then, the third still took his arms, damn the third was strong.
He was honestly scared of the him so much that he had to use the other 2 hokages against him just to break his spirit. Once he snapped out of it earlier he could have sealed off Orochimaru and the kages.

Yeah wishful thinking here... he wouldn't ve able to break the contract because the genjustu used was Mangekyou genjustu. Had it been a regular sharingan, fugaku could've just broken it but it was same level so he would have to fight the nine tails with his susano'o like the what if said. He and shisui (if they would have let him go as well) would have been able to handle the 9 tails easily while minato breaks the contract and puts it back in Kushina.

If Minito and Kushina live, wouldn't Kakashi be stronger in the Land of Waves arc, having had comfort and support to stop the darkness from taking as big a hold on him and not having the loss of his sensei and wife weighing on him. Not only this, he probably wouldn't have spent years distracted failing genin and wouldn't have gone soft. I say this to point out that Kakashi reaching more of his potential quicker, with his teacher still alive, and not being rusty would have easily destroyed Zabuza, not water prison save needed.

Me: This is why I think that Danzō has *some* better redeeming qualities than Hiruzen. I mean, maybe his method of doing things is *debatable* at times. But, at least he knows what needs to be done and does it. Have y’all seen the Romeo & Juliet filler arc in Shippuden? Oops! I mean, The Kakashi & Yamato filler arc? Danzō took much better care of Yamato than, Lord Third of Naruto.

I can see Sasuke being like, I'm bored.
Crazy how we assume that itachi would still get his mangekyo and Sasuke would get his sharingan. I think that due to peace time, they wouldn't awaken them until much after (itachi during a mission where a friend dies or something and Sasuke in a similar circumstance). Itachi wouldn't have gotten sick due to Tsunade being paid to come in and heal the leader of the Uchiha clan's son and Danzo would have been killed a lot earlier and the root disbanded as his ego and ruthlessness would cause him to secretly try to kill the Uchiha. They would stop the attempt and then track it back to Danzo and I see Shisui and Itachi killing danzo. I think this is where Itachi and Sasuke awakens their respective sharingans due to the battle where many of their friends and family would die by the root members. I can see Minato sending Anbu as aid in the fight to wipe out danzo and his ideologies.
I do think that Danzo would wait until Fugaku would be out of the village to attack, forcing Itachi and Shisui to act and the two heads of the clan. Obviously if fugaku is there, he kills danzo easily. Obito contacts Danzo to try to go against the leaf but danzo kills obito with the help of the root members before going at the Uchiha thinking they still want to commit a coup. Danzo, ever the student of Tobirama, couldn't see pass the eyes of the Uchiha to realize that they only wanted to be respected and treated with the same prestige that the hyuuga and senju are. This battle takes place in the root hideout and obito's body is found causing pain to Kakashi who receives the other eye and has time to train with both eyes making Kakashi wayyyyy stronger than he was in the original timeline.
