Aurora said in an interview "It means a lot to me and it's written about giving too much. It's Mother Earth writing to humankind about wanting to thrive again." Aurora also said that sometimes hs just writes without knowing what it means for a while. I think that the songs just pour out of her, and she makes songs like painters make art, often without always a clear purpose. Thanks for your reaction!

Fun fact: the orchestra Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra she performs with here is one of the oldest orchestras in the world, they date back to 1765 which means they are 11 years older than the USA

She is a lyrical genius, so very special. I am pretty sure I read this is earth crying out in pain from all of the damage we have and continue to do. She speaks as if the earth is a living breathing entity, therefore, both parts of me are perhaps her body and soul. Enjoyed your reaction to my favorite (multi talented, wonderful human being) artist.

Both parts of me. Body and Soul. The physical planet, but also the spiritual part of living here. Nice reaction!

Absolutely love this performance. When she looks into the camera in the end is so very powerful and shakes me to my core. Your interpretation is pretty spot on and its wonderful how she always forces you to think and challenge your thoughts in everything she does. Her magical mystical words always provoke and her voice soothes the soul.

    👍😍❤️
She was actually mother earth herself🌍
Aurora said the song is her favorite track on the album, adding:
"It means a lot to me and it's written about giving too much. It's Mother Earth writing to humankind about wanting to thrive again. Sometimes I don't understand what a song means for a while. It sounds pretentious and stupid but it does happen. I just write and write all the time. I have songs already for my fifth album."👍😅❤️

These lyrics are profound. I had the pleasure of her company for a short time last year. Three things struck me. She is an observer, she saw things that I never looked at and found beauty in a building I had seen hundreds of times but never looked at. She is a listener, she paid attention to what I said where most of us (guilty!) listen only to speak. Third, her general knowledge is wide, I suspect a great intelligence there. She is a treasure.

Aurora has the most nurturing singing voice I've ever heard so far!
Lyrically as you said this one is a weird one e even for her. And yes, she makes me feel things when she moves 😂😂😂
That Yoodle sound is definitely one of my favorite types of vocals she does

    5:11 haha.....nailed it.
You have good deductive insight because, at least in interviews, that's precisely what Aurora has said this song is about. It's basically a song written from the perspective of the planet itself....about humanity.

"i can't find anything to save our kind." is maybe not from 'mother' natures perspective but from the perspective of a dying biosphere. the both parts are maybe body and soul. there is science and studies about planetary scale intelligence, consciousness and such. our biosphere isn't the most possible developed one and we kill it before it has a chance to flourish.
this song is maybe the most beautiful song she wrote.

    • @avedic
      @avedic Рік тому +1

Good insights. And I agree with you about the song....
It's definitely her most underrated and overlooked imo.

  • @avedic

I'm normally not super into lyrics, but this part has always cut right to my core somehow....
_"Come, my wonders, after dawn restores. Waiting for the world to turn once more. Listening to the deep magnetic sound."_
Other sources cite it as "Calm, I wander, after dawn restores." And I honestly love both lol. For me, it's how I feel after a long period of depression, when one random morning, I wake very early, maybe 5am, to this unexpected feeling of inspired hopeful peace and happiness and connection to everything that makes up reality. It's a rare feeling....I can't plan for it or engineer it. But boy is it meaningful when it happens. And for me...those lyrics speak to that feeling.

  • @waitindelaney

I think it's not either/or but rather and/both. It's a relationship alright -- between nature and humans. It's a conversation between mother Earth and Humanity. She's advocating for both. She is the arbiter.

    I think it's about......
A man who is fishing, having a conversation with a 🪱 worm......
    The worm is like......
Dude. I don't mind being used as bait for your amusement...to kill fish. But I can't swim. .....and the fisherman doesn't care if Mr worm drowns. It's all about mans( fisherman) and his selfish needs.

Hands down her most underrated song....imo.
It's a bit nuts to me she's only performed it live once....which is this very one with the orchestra.
The time signature is a bit difficult...the groove isn't as explicit, so maybe that's why they just forgo it live? idk
Also....that LOOK she gives the camera at 3:36(on your video) is just.....wow. o`_ o`

Maybe you should rethink reacting to someone as inclusive and loving as Aurora with an add for that hateful right wing hack behind you. He stands against everything she stands for.
