Rod leaving the Faces was inevitable. What I could never understand is why he didn't put out more songs like this or "Dirty Weekend." Just straight ahead, kick-ass rock n' roll. He didn't need those silly pop songs.
Reckon he thought he needed the money more than the music - he not done bad on that point. Phil Chen (born in Kingston Jamaica) one the best funk bassists of all time. He played on all of Rod's late-'70s and ealy-'80s hits and everyone of them were gold bass lines!
@@rexmaximilian9548 sad news today brought me here... you're exactly right about Phil
The bass absolutely *makes* this song!
They dont make music like this anymore❤ love Rod Stewart
Sadly so true. Complement a lady and you're a Sexiest bigot. What is wrong with telling someone they look good?
Foot loose and fancy free best album ever. I sing this to my dad before he passed when I was three.
He got to see Frampton before he passed and loved rod.
I would listen to this whole album on 8 track until it wore out..🌺
Billy Peek doing his best work as a Chuck Berry protege! ❤️🤗🎸
Absolutely sublimely written was introduced to this man..by my sister I was a spry young lad of 16 yrs old..she spun this on vinyl..and been hooked ever since!! 55 yrs old now & was fortunate to see him live in Winnipeg Canada..few yrs.back...i was floored!! One my most favorite song writers!! Enjoy people..turn it up!! Much love!
This was the childhood jam between us children and our father. He passed away september 2019 and i really miss those days with him. We just blasted this shit at max volume in his car everytime he picked us up to spend the weekend with him. This song will eternaly remember me of my dad and those easy childhood days. :)
Your song will never die....
A classic time
Great song. Making that flying V and Telecaster sounding wonderful. Rod with that raw voice that punched through especially with the Jeff Beck Group. Ain't Superticious was a bad ass song. Great riffs by the master Jeff Beck. English blues are outstanding!
Anyone know where they were? The rock climber in me could not but notice the nice looking limestone cliffs on the mountains
1977 ... good year. Good song. Good times. Put THIS on MTV!!! Not what's on there now!!
I agree 100% but I would just do away with all video. Make us "listen" to the music instead of watching, it worked before!
I was born on march.20.1977 lol,great tune
+Ashley Lynn You missed a lot of fun Ashley! Then again, the music of every generation has a way of giving "inspiration"!
77 was a good year...had my 1st kid. All 5 of them know a lot of these oldies...and listen to them a lot. My son is 2 years younger than you Ashley...to the date. lol
that was my dad lol sorry
I can't get enough of this "real" rock n roll! It takes you back when rock made you move into a groove! Happy holidays!
An all time classic, great guitar riffs and the unmistakable rasp of Rod Stewart, one of my most favourite tunes.
I was living in Louisiana when this came out, run a needle tru. it, still love this song! From the bottom of my heart thanks Rod Stewart!
totally one of the greatest rock songs of all time!
Those were the Days My Friend, and we thought they would never end !!! HMMMmmmmmmmmmmmmm!!!
Amen!
AMEN! love it:)
@@heatherwanamaker8000 I am a big fan to rod stewart
I’m 53 and this song is my party playlist 🎉🎉
This would make a helluva STRIPPER SONG, don't you think?!!
I'm sure it's been used by strippers many times.
Yes it would
Yep Tommy, a great stripper strut that's for sure!
@Fist Bump VERY COOL!!
@Fist Bump I love it !!
I met the Bassist Phil Chen in a club playing for my buddies Calypso / Soca band In the mid 90`s. He could play everything and talk about humble, the guy was all class.
Nothing beats a flying V guitar solo!
This was my sister’s album she bought. I fell in love with it 💕❤️💕❤️I was 8 years old when I listened to this🙏💕
We don't look for old songs, we look for the memories they carry❤❤
So true. The nostalgia takes us back to a simpler time in our lives when we were young and carefree. Every song in my collection has a special and unique memory
Some do. This is way before my time and I'm here. No memories for me here.
How can you not love Rod...
Wild ,wreckless, tough, and always in search of a good time .All the things modern rock ''n ''roll forgot about.
andrew flasco Right on the money, pal
Right
You nailed that. Bands today can't harness R&R with the blues. KICKASS SONG!!
I am 55 and have loved Rod since I was a kid, my daddy always played his albums. I still love him, and now my 3 boys know and like his music, 'cos they heard it all their lives. He is my favorite!

I'm an 80s chick I love all Rock and Roll At 16 years old I had crush on Rod Stewart and Eddie Van Halen. Love it.
yuck
I was in love with those 2 guys also!

Man, I just love playing this on guitar. The lyrics are a bit 'young boyish' but the band rocks. Playing this in a cover band when I was a younger man last century goes down in my memories as just pure, unadulterated, fun times.
Whoever wrote the lyrics certainly hadn't been reading Proust, but it's a fun tune.
@@geoffpoole483 I'm constantly yearning for "lost times" myself but must content myself with this aging body in the mind of a 'twenty something'.
Rod is such an amazing singer and has contributed to some of the best songs ever recorded

Now that's Rock n Roll !!

It's like, "Oh no, you did NOT just say that!" I had no idea...
I've had the biggest crush on this man since I was around 12. My first rock crush. I've seen him 6 times and he never disappointed.
Me the same around 11 years old. Never disappoints!
I agree with you 💯
What a great and fantastic song! Great and fantastic voice!! Remember it so well! Very talented, awesome and amazing Rod Stewart!💕❤️
Are you a fan of Rod Stewart?
Rod is a great frontman legend. All of his concerts were awesome never half ass.
One of the best rock song!!congrats Rod.
Damn I remember seeing this on TV WAY BACK WHEN! When Videos were not even videos. Maybe Night Tracks or something like that. I know it was before MTV! I always remember the guitarist doing Chuck Berrys Duck walk down the Railroad tracks. That is the one thing that always stuck with me about his video!
Me too...it unforgetable seeing the dust coming out
Honestly, the whole thing is just so well played, I agree. The moves and music are one. Rod's eye/camera contact is so good.

Guitarist was Billy Peek--he's really good. He played Johnny B. Goode ay Chuck Berry's funeral.
I tell you what I think of this man and his HOT LEGS self~He has been my idol singer ever sense the first song I ever heard him sing!!!! I still have the album he made when he was playing with his first group! If I were in a coma hearing ROD would make me jump out the bed all the while turning the bed over~My prayer is I get to just catch a real glance of him~I live in the sticks where I would have to drive 4-5 hours to see him in concert! I know I would just fall out to see him with my own two eyes~~~keep on rocking~~~

Thank You.
Still makes me smile. I'm still listening to the old songs just like I did back in day. I've always loved Rod Stewart's music.
Rod’s biggest break as a solo artist came when he recorded his album “Atlantic Crossing” in the United States instead of England in 1975, then “A Night on The Town” in 1976 and “Footloose and Fancy Free” in 1977.

I love the tired look on his face when the songs begins. One of the best easy rock songs by far and a great video to boot.
