Fun fact: the raptor cannibalising the baby was likely inspired by a scene in the original novel of Jurassic Park. Grant and the kids find a baby raptor, and bring it back to the visitor centre to prove the dinosaurs are breeding. When they're attacked by raptors, Grant throws the baby at the pack to distract them. The raptors pause, look at the baby for a few moments, then one of them kills and swallows the infant whole.
In my opinion. Him shooting Abby was not his fault. It was her fault for yelling at him when he was trying to aim at the raptor. It is hard to aim with a gun when an annoying girl is shouting at you by telling to shoot it Connor. lol
I like the idea that the primeval raptor is not some known species and is some undiscovered theropod, it might not be related to true dromaeosaurs and just convergently evolved sickle clause
Bit late to the party on this one but I’m glad to see this series come back! Sorry I missed the premiere but I’m looking forward to the rest of the series. Honestly this might be my single favourite episode of the whole show. I love the design of the raptors and the banter between the cast. The conversation between Cutter and Abby talking about Claudia is one of the best character moments too, and a personal favourite scene of mine.
I just brought the box set dvds of this show. I just started binge watching it again. I just done episode 4 of series 2. The one you just talk about today.
Something else I think is noteworthy about the Primeval raptors is that, with the exception of Episode 3.10, they're never shown to hunt in packs. Given that we now believe that deinonychus (the species that these raptors are most commonly likened to) was a solitary hunter, this means that the Primeval raptors were well ahead of their time in terms of depictions of behaviour.
Oh that is a really good point. But I will say even in 3x10, the juvenile Raptors aren’t really hunting in a pack they just all seem to be chasing all at once. (and they were also eating another Raptor).
If you couldn’t tell, I had a sore throat when recording this episode 😬😅
But great to see so many people turn up for the premier!

Conner's gun face when he shoots the male raptor is genius! Kinda makes him look like a mercenary or an Expendable.👌👍

I couldn’t help but laugh when he shot her and she went down like that but I did hope she was ok.
Maybe next time she will learn not to yell at someone who is trying to aim at a raptor with a gun. lol
Fun fact the rattling quills were also used for the raptors in ice age 3 Dawn of the dinosaurs, which came out about a few months after this episode.
This was amazing! Skateboarding Cutter at the end 😂😂😂
Glad you stayed till after the credits for our secret scene 😂
sadly missed the premier, but happy to see this series return!
I have really missed this series. I’m glad you were able to continue it.

Can't wait for episode 2! Time to fight those worms!

AYYY WE BACK
Great return! One of my favourite episodes of the entire series!
So, are you gonna do one breakdowns one-series-by-year?
I’ve been watching these on my lunch break. Awesome job! (I swear to god if you make a late joke)
What theme is that being used on Stephen going up the escalator in "Raptor Capture"?
You’ll have to ask @AncientRealms, he added it in…
Terminator 2 music
I've never seen this raptor 3D model before, is it coming from a DVD bonus, or perhaps from a Dr Who BTS?
Its from an Animator’s showreel (showcasing their work on Primeval (and other shows)).
fun fact my mother bought me a stuffed rabbit here at the mall
Are you going to do season 3 this year?
When is the next episode coming out
Weekly.
