Something to consider for shoe racks...I did this for curing soaps as I needed shelves close together, and it works well. Buy 2 sets of metal shelves, assemble with all the shelves on one frame...will give you all the shoe shelving you will need, leaving inventory visible and accesdible.

I really like this idea! But, I want the thinner "shoe" sized shelves?

    • @tracyzoon5805
      @tracyzoon5805 3 роки тому +2

What carol seems to be saying is that you pick the spacing yourself when you assemble the shelf so you can assemble it so it has shoe size spacing on one shelf unit. Think 8 shelves on one unit instead of 4 shelves with bigger space on 2 shelf units.

There are also several online retailers like U-Line that allow you to buy the rods and shelves in whatever configuration you want so you can customize exactly what you need without needing to have extra parts from the pre-packaged boxes. I haven't done a price comparison to see if they're cheaper that way, but it's something to look into at least.

Nice to see that you're keeping it fresh and realizing you need to take a short minute for you so you can come back fresh and keep showing your passion for your two loves. Shoes.....looks like shelves that were bolted held. I would rethink the plastic bins for your shoes especially since you wash a lot of them. They need air to be bone dry and air to circulate or you'll be battling unwanted mold again inside the new bins.

Great video yet again, Josh and Haley. It''s refreshing to watch someone who is really honest and open ... there's a lot of, quite frankly, BS in the UA-cam world. I've worked for"the man may years, and I have also run my own business ... people who haven't had that experience don't realize that working for yourself means you have a boss, still (meaning)... you ... and that boss can be really tough, especially if the bank account is low and deadlines aren't being met. But in the end, it's Saul Goodman. Keep selling away ....

After watching your videos the last week I decided to start reselling again on eBay. I’m 10 months away from having a steady retirement income so I’m just going to do it for extra cash and the thrill of the hunt. I’m up in Pickens county, SC. You should visit the Pickens Flea Market one Wednesday if you haven’t already. It’s usually pretty good. I’m 61 and have been going there since I was about 12. Going in the morning as matter of fact. They only open on Wednesday. Maybe one day I’ll share with you how 20 years ago I was pulling in $30,000 a month on eBay. It’s a long but fascinating story.😁 Thanks for motivating me to get back at it.

Solution for the shoe scenario: Y'all leave the house, ask Mose to clean up a bit. Come back later - problem solved. On a serious note, I sell quite a bit of 👞 , just use tubs and label them in the listing with which tub. Sometimes a pain, but they never fall off the wall. 😀

Those small items like the power adapters can be a blessing when sales of other items are slow and like you said, they don't take long to process. My wife loves when I buy the random boxes of stuff from local auctions because you never know you will find. I bought a random box of cable and stuff last week for $5 and in it was a vintage pair of high end headphones that, if working, can bring in over $100.

Show how you clean up all those shoes for re-sale, with the different materials and such, ie; leather vs fabric. Thinking about starting to sell the shoes I find, but worried about ruining them trying to clean up for resale. Or is it as simple as just throwing them in a washer and dryer? For myself it's starting to drive me nuts and I've got a much smaller operation than this guy. All the problems going on continually on the ebay site not to mention in the pandemic world (pre covid 60% of my sales were to international markets, now its around 10%) that cause significant lost business. My accountants eyes popping out of her head while telling me every year at tax time "it astounds me how much ebay charges in fees"....these are some of my least favorite full time reseller things. Since the vast majority of your income is from UA-cam, aren't you more a part-time reseller? I heard a full-time reseller say there are resellers who also do UA-cam, and then there are UA-camrs who also resell. I see you as the latter. Would you still be reselling if it wasn't the subject of your You Tube channel? Could you support yourselves reselling if your UA-cam channel hadn't taken off as well as it has? I'm happy for you that you're UA-cam channel is doing so well, I just don't view you as a full-time reseller as a result.

Interesting. I just watched Hustle at Home Mom and she showed her 2019/2020 eBay sales and it was almost the same..80k for a year. She considers herself part time with two kids and one due any minute. She feels 45k yr is great for part time compared to a previous job. No mention of her UA-cam/Amazon sales.

I watch her too, and she is doing very well working part-time. She doesn't have near as many subscribers, so I imagine her UA-cam income is a lot less than Josh makes.

Yes and no. In the title of this video he refers to his "full-time EBay business". He doesn't have a full-time EBay business. He has said before that most of his income comes from UA-cam. In the comments here he said their EBay income is only 15%-20% of their total income. He has a great UA-cam channel. I watch it and enjoy it, but he is a UA-camr who resells on the side, not the other way around. Perhaps you're the same? I don't know as I don't watch your channel as much.

Best to go with metal shelving for the amount of weight your putting on those shelves with your shoes. Walmart had one with 6 tiers for $133.

No it wouldn't, not enough in house customer base and obscene shipping rates everywhere outside of the country. I'm in North America and I've never bought anything from Oz for that reason. The geographical distance is the killer. I have Oz customers but the shipping rates are obscene for what I sell, I'm amazed I even get customers from there.

Must be nice to walk into a Goodwill, Habitat for Humanity, Salvation Army, community thrift stores, and privately owned thrift stores and find good items good enough for resale. In NC most of the items these entities sell are near retail prices, busted, broke, missing parts or electric cords, filthy, and scratched beyond repair. Many sellers in these places have gotten on to using Ebay to value the items they have or are donated to them, so they have a full time person in the back that actually researches the value of donated items BEFORE they price it, leaving very little meat on the bone for resellers. Coupled with the free shipping debacle where customers won’t even look at your item unless they see free shipping has cut into seller’s profits. In another 3-5 years it won’t be worth reselling anymore, plus the competition is extreme compared to just 5 years ago. I do it as a part time for fun gig only, if you’re counting on it for full time financial support, it may be working now, but it’s a sinking ship IMHO. But this guy has it down pat! He may survive this and be one of the last men standing in the resell business.
Plus I never pay for boxes, plenty of free ones on Facebook Marketplace or behind Family Dollar, Dollar General, or Dollar Tree stores, not to mention asking the employee at your grocery store for boxes.

Watching this as an expat in Vietnam. There's no market for second hand here because everything new is so cheap from China. And the shoes are dead after a year so the second hand market is pretty much non existent.

If you saw a dollar lying on the street would you step over it…No! And if you said yes, and leave it for me to pick up Thank You! Some people must not have heard you say selling all of these things has allowed you and your wife to quit your jobs and work from home. Love you, keep up the great work!

I live on about $750 a month.. I am single, no kids, and live in an apartment with 2 people. If I had my own place I imagine my expenses would be around $1500 a month or less. So what that means for me right now is that I only need $750 profit from my reselling to keep going which isn't too bad. I have probably been into it for about 2 months now, starting from scratch, building inventory and such and I probably average around $20 profit a day with around 250 current listings. So that is pretty close to my sustainable rate. I hope I can continue doing it for a long time.

I myself am a Top Rated Ebay Seller but at the moment, I just sell to fund my sports card collection spending and or to have disposable income. I have so much retro video games from being a collector that I don't have time to list it all because I have a full time job. I moved on from that hobby but still have a ton of complete in box and loose NES, SNES, Genesis, TurboGrafx 16 and more to sell off little by little, including many rare and uncommon games. I also have many rare hip hop CDs from mostly the 90s to sell off as well. The good thing is, if I lose my job or quit, I could sell full time and be ok for awhile so that's good to know 😁
