Nice to see Meghan feeling like herself again and being able to get back to her life fully. Would love a tour of her van since it looks like it’s a bit different. Love that you support her like you do!
My biggest pet peve in the snow is when people try and crawl up snowy hills, you have to keep your momentum going (especially without 4wd). Great video! :)
@@RavensEyeOffroad Amen guys! First couple things I learned driving at 15 years old in an upper Michigan winter was to keep your momentum going up hills, and try to never make the tires "spin" (with no traction) under you.
Jason, being from Minnesota and spending alot of time in the Boundey Waters. I would like to thank you for mentioning no trace. You’ve mention it many of your videos. It means a great deal to me and i bet many others. Thank you Mike….
I always enjoy these videos. I've been watching since forever. Love the winter camps more than the summer but I just like the snow white scenery I guess. Daisy looks so tired, just a few short years ago she was bright eyed. I'm sure age and losing Wheeler has caught up with her. She's certainly seen more fun and wonderful areas than 99% of dogs who never go beyond the backyard. Looking forward to 2022.
Jason, I have followed you for several years. On a different account, but still. I love your older content and these educational types of videos. We can't ignore the elephant in the room. How is Daisy so dang cutely!!! 🙂❤❤❤ Still miss Wheeler, but Daisy makes up for it. ❤ Great video my friend.
Your videos motivate my family and I to get outdoors. We're hoping for a winter trip soon In preparation im wondering the following.... 1. Do you run your propane/diesel heater all night to sleep? 2. Do you use a sleeping bag or blankets? Kind? 3. Last but not least, is that a wool sweatshirt? Where'd you get it? Lol thing looks cozy as heck! Than you for the great videos and information you put out 🙏🏼
First off I want to say it’s so great seeing Meagan out snowboarding and living her life 😆🙌🏻 I’ve been thinking about the Holiday camp out all week. Wish so much I could be there. Maybe next year. I wonder if my Promaster would make it where you are in the video.
Thanks for sharing. Really enjoyed watching this video and seeing Daisy again. She looked so beautiful and relaxed there getting her morning cuddles. Keep up the great work!
Great video Jason, I just love the music choice and the relaxed feel to your videos. I can't believe the ski resort had a fire ban in winter with snow like how ridiculous is that. Anyway, stay safe and happy New Year!
Megan’s Van is awesome! Nice work. Looks like a home in many ways. I traveled over the pass the last few days and it was a good snow! Have a good New Year
Pro tip from a northern Canadian. When it’s snowing keep the defroster turned off, the hot windshield will melt snow on the glass by the time the melted snow/water gets to your wipers it’s turns into ice and freezes to your wiper blades, a keep your windshield cold so your wipers can clear SNOW.
Try Corn bread in the instant pot it would be a great addition to the chili on cold day. Thank you for all the content. You are one of the best video channels on out doors and camping and the van life and the cinematography you do is one of the best I watch and all your videos are so assume. Thank you and Happy New Year
You should consider tire chains too, a good set of V-bar chains will give you that traction you need in the deep stuff. Though I can't tell if you have the clearance for them. Also heated wiper blades would take care of the ice. Sadly here in upstate NY it doesn't want to snow. My grass is still green and it's warm enough to mow the lawn if I wanted to.
I’m currently sitting in the cab of my truck at the primal outdoors patreon campout, engine on with the heat going, because I didn’t bring enough propane for my space heater in the tent. So add that to the pro tips.. Always bring enough propane!
It is always interesting and pleasant to see your videos that are never boring ... I am pleased to see that your wife is fine and that together you keep company ... thanks for your videos keep it up .. Happy New Year from Italy
This is a good one Jason! Sure nice to see Meghan being able to do more and more of what she enjoys. Looking forward to a tour of her van. Looks like a really comfortable setup. Being able to stand up seems like a big plus.
Awesome video. I use an Instapot also. My EcoFlow Delta’s run the Instapot easily. I’m in sunny South Florida right now. In about 4 weeks I’m heading out west to Colorado, Utah, Arizona, Nevada, and California. Several weeks in Colorado. Have a Ford Transit that I converted and a 23 foot TT. Ice concerns me the most.
I really enjoyed this one. We’ve certainly done at least one epic winter camping adventure. Deep snow and cold temperatures have do their challenges. It’s cool to see Meghan’s van now that it is fully fitted out. Bonus points to her for using an actual kitchen knife to do food prep. I’m a get a Jackery, and use your link. I can think of so many ways to use it off-grid. Good Vibrations
Good advice about keeping your distance from vehicles in front of you driving in winter. Same for washer fluid that doesnt freeze. In the 80s when I was in the Air Force driving to Illinois in the middle of heavy winter, a semi passed me in the left lane which had patches of snow on it. I thought the semi was going to lose control as it began weaving and sliding. I just decide at that point Im getting off at the next town for the night. The semi turned into my lane cutting me off and as I am slowing down the snow covering the semis trailer, itself covered in diesel soot, landed on my windshield. As I braked and turned on the windshield wipers and windshield washer fluid, all of the snow smeared to my window with the soot and froze. Now I am driving blind until I rolled the window down and took the next off ramp and found a motel for the night. Sorry for being long winded, but your chances of misfortune increase squarely during the winter.
Huh? NEVER knew a ski resort parking lot was an option. Oh, the many times I drove out (with everyone else) for me to return the next day. Thanks for sharing.
Increasing restrictions in populous areas are a good thing to know about. (Ieo: outdoor fire). BUT (!!) ... aside from the info and good eating, the very best take-away for me was watching the gentleness of your golden retriever. What a sweet soul. Your dog is beautiful : )
Thanks for the videos. My biggest take-away was - dont build a fire in someone's parking lot! LOL Im a fan and subscriber to this channel, but I have to admit, this video reminded me of all those instagram pics of nice sunny exotic locals and how the #vanlife is so lovely. I guarantee you there is no fancy music playing (14:15), whilst youre looking over the cold snowy landscape. This video was a bit unrealistic unlike most of this channels videos - 5 to 10 mins of fire warmth and 20 - 30 mins of setup, cleanup and getting supplies out and putting them back, when it wouldve been just as easy and more productive to fire-up the diesel / propane heater and conserved energy and warmth inside the vehicles. Also, isnt in just common courtesy when on someone elses property (the resorts) to check ahead of time, whether firepits are allowed in the parking lots than just assume? That type of behavior probably contributed to them being more hesitant about allowing such activities. My family owns several ski resorts in Colorado, Montana, N and S Dakota, Minnesota and we had to restrict a lot of activities because of peoples assuming attitudes about what they thought was appropriate behavior in public and on someone elses property. Anyways, thanks again for the videos.
By chance are you camping and snowboarding on Mount Hood? I lived in central Oregon for 19 years. Truly a beautiful state that offers one exploration after another. Great to see the old home land
Thanks for the lovely video. Looking forward for some more good video 👌 from you. Take care live safe and sound. Have a wonderful new year and have a wonderful camping trips.
Great video Jason..you wouldn't get me on a snowboard anymore either haha! Must have gotten the ball joint figured out. Hope you guys stayed warm yesterday.. that was brutal! Keep 'em coming some of the best content on UA-cam. Thanks!
Love the channel, just one tip for you guys. Please warm-up the tortilla next time you eat tacos or burritos. Its a lot better and more delicious. Keep up the great content !! Happy new year and hope to see more great adventures.
I got me the new One Wheel GT on order due to ship late Feb....supposed to be just like snow boarding on dry land....never ridden one so we'll find out
Brrrr , that looked like fun. Great seeing the three of you out together. Mmmm, great food as well. I agree with others, strange about the fire rule as your surrounded with snow. I’m guessing it’s others that don’t understand Leave No Trace and left a mess they had to clean up one too many times. Thanks for staking us along and the words of wisdom. Great seeing Megan and her rig as well as Daisy. May you three and your families have a safe, amazing, adventurous and happy new year.
What a nice vidéo again. Thank you! Happy to se megan going snowboard and have fun. This winter we gona go to french alps again with my wife, son and dog in the van at 1800m altitude to snowkite. Webasto is our main hiter system, it works ok but drys the air so much, we have to keep drink a lot of water. Will experience firewood in snow with your tips, can't wait😀. Thank's again for your videos
Last winter we snow camped at Benson Snow Park just down the road from Hodoo parking lot. Mid week, no over night crowds during the day a few cross country skiers and snowshoes. Weekend I would expect more snowmobiles. Later in the winter we snow camped at Theilson Trail head near Diamond Lake. One again no crowds. We got 18 inches of snow the first night. ODOT plowed the snow park before we had to leave. I live near Tumalo Falls and each winter so many people get stuck just past our home. No shovel, no tire chains, no tow straps, no warm clothing. Winter camping is great fun and we love the lack of other people. People just need to remember the Boy Scouts moto "Be Prepared" The mountains do not care if you live or die.
There is a snow park about half a mile father in the forest primarily used for snowmobiling which I have found to be an awesome spot for overnight camping
I don't get to catch every video but is this the first time we've seen the inside of Megan's van in action? That high roof mod seem to have really paid off in usable space with the ability to stand up when you're cooking, etc. I think the work/kitchen area may make it look a little cramped due to all of the counter space.. But look at all that counter space!!!!! I love it!
Pretty Awesome video. You looked sober. Megan must keep an eye on you when she's around. How come you didn't go boarding? Daisy is a good girl. She's an awesome dog. Take care.

I’m glad to see Meghan happy and healthy again. 🙏🏽

Yea. I have had to pass people before so I wouldn’t get stuck. They typically get upset and honk the horn at me.
