I've definitely got an interest in the whole French house sale (trying to decide where we might go post-retirement) and the choices are crazy in quantity. Hearing how and why people go from point A to B absolutely helps.

France or Italy... both are breathtaking in their own unique ways. If you're considering exploring Italy, I highly recommend visiting the regions of Umbria and Marche. They offer a charm similar to Tuscany, but without the steep prices. In my opinion, the central part of Italy truly embodies the essence of the (best) qualities we often associate with this country. Northern Italy may not always feel the most welcoming, but geographically it boasts equally stunning regions like Trentino-Alto Adige and the beautiful lake areas of Lombardy. My two cents :)
