    Thanks doc, ive been using this method lately and it works well. Im mostly eating low carb but also trying to eat enough calories everyday to lose one pound per week because I know if I eat too little calories my metabolism will crash. This is what I eventually learned when I used to do starve diets. Weight would come off quickly but i would eventually binge eat because I was extremely hungry and deprived of nutrition.

    This is really good information as we are programmed to eat via the clock from being children. By listening to our bodies and making a consideration about hunger, we can also adjust portion size as well as what we are eating (to keep carbohydrates low).
    Also the presentation in your videos is spot on, they are so engaging and they make me listen to every word. No crazy science but pitched absolutely perfectly for the listener. I have learnt so much from your videos in the past month.

      @@beckygillaspy Don't change a thing that you are doing.
      I need to get my metabolism going. At 70 years old my blood glucose has flat lined at 100 mg/dl after 3 months but my weight has also at a set point, 25kg above where I want it. I think maybe I need to lengthen my daily fast longer than 18 hrs ? Maybe alternate days, I will try. Thanks for your reply.

      Thanks Dr. Becky I watched that video and I have a question sorry, if I stoping eat 7.30pm and just eat the next day at 7.30 am that means I can eat again just 7.30pm that day or if I feel hungry around 3/4 pm I can eat? Thanks

    • @beckygillaspy
      @beckygillaspy  7 років тому +1

      Hi Edna, you'd have the entire day as your "eating window." So, you'd eat anytime between 7:30am and 7:30pm.

      I can't say anything for certain based on the limited information, but your body may be highly insulin resistant. It looks like you are just in ketosis, so if you're losing weight, then your body is burning fat.

    Dr Becky, I fast nearly everyday for 16 hours but I have two cups of coffee every morning with a little skimmed milk. Is this alright. I could change to tea if that is more acceptable. Thank you.

    • @beckygillaspy
      @beckygillaspy  7 років тому +2

      I've seen different opinions, but technically speaking, the addition of any caloric ingredient to your coffee breaks your fast.
