@@davidg105 Hey, thanks, David - yeah, I'm a hobbyist knife maker; you can see more of my work on Facebook at my page "Lucky Knives" if you care to. Mike
I have to say, these are the most legit down to earth videos and are a relief, especially with people just pouring politics in my feeds. I'm certain I watched them all. And prioritize them when I see a new one pop up on my subscriptions feed.
Wow he is only asking $165 a night. I figured I'd be opening up a listing thats $500+ a night. Thats pricing on just a normal 2 bedroom airbnb in Los Angeles and I don't get anything close to what Will's listing offers.
I've never seen another UA-camr do as much with their subscribers as do Taku and Jocelyn. I'm sort of young and hate the life I have. So I feel I'm able to kind of live a different life via Outdoor Chef Life, so thanks for that.
Your videos have been on fire lately. You will reach 1M subs by next year. Keep up the hard work Taku and Jocelyn. Hope you guys are enjoying every minute of it. You guys deserve way more views and subs
Taku.. My name is actually Tak. We are both Japanese, but I'm a Nisei. I lived in an RV for years and you should buy a class-B RV with a proper kitchenette and trust me on this one... Your G/F will thank you endlessly for the bathroom. I still have my B-RV. I'll never get rid of it. I have so many memories of hanging out with my G/F making salads and English food on that kitchenette. (English food.. Yeesh!)
Nice connection with hospitality. That is what it is all about. Used to lived in narleans. We get our oysters in lagoons and they were the white n silver kind that attaches themselves to rocks like abalone. This video educated me about those types of dirt oysters. Add sand to baby oysters n make Pearl's in a few years.
Here’s the move when BBQing Oysters... when they open, pop the flat top off and put some sauce in the cupped side with the oyster. My favorite combo is thinly sliced peppers, Shoyu or Tamari, thinly sliced green onion and a dash of hot sauce. Then let the oyster Steep in the sauce for a bit and enjoy! 🔥 🦪
As a loyal fan from Spain, especially being from the Spanish region that paella is from. I can't belieeeeeve u called that a paella😂😂😂 no no no!! Hahaha but you got the socarrat!! amazing video like always tho
I was waiting for somebody to say something and I already knew Taku was waiting for somebody to say something too. But Taku can call it whatever he wants... out here in Las Vegas, we have places called sushi burrito, and mexican sushi made very differently with ceviche. As a sushi chef, I use to get super offended when they would call it sushi... but what can I do🤷♂️
Bro I live just down the road from this location! Come to my place next! And I’m realtor in the area so if you really want to look for spot, let me know!
I had been looking at property in your area during the housing crash when homes were affordable. There was a modular home place near Shelton off the freeway which goes to Olympia. The guy s name was Jack Fuller who informed me a lot about the area, where the best lots to get good water. I should of bought back then. I had seen a nice fixer uper for 65 K on Alderrish Road, I think that was the name. But I liked the area. I recall a indian gambling place on the freeway, which I never got to visit for lunch specials but did go to the other reservation next to Unnion for fish. There are stories of \Big Foot in that area.
Your cooking portion made me drool without realizing it until you reacted to an oyster and choked and I laughed causing me to croak too. It looks so good
been here since 6k subs, now its 410k im so proud of you taku! No videos missed, i like your journey! kinda reminds me of an anime,Food Wars!: Shokugeki no Soma, and you are Soma's father exploring the world and finding flavors. Love it on how you get some recipes out of the things that you have. Man, how i wish i can do it like you. And you are lucky with Jocelyn, she supports you with all, catch or no catch, she is still there laughing and smiling, Good luck to both of you! Thanks for giving and letting us experience the life we cannot do so much, stuck in an office, as a breadwinner gotta work harder. :D
Mate looooove this content! I can’t speak for all of Australia but for where I’m from - raw is the only way to eat oysters. Leaving the oyster juices in is also a must. Beautiful natural flavours are too good to rinse away.
Awesome video Taku! Every good catch and cook pairs beautifully with a nice brew 😎 love that detail of your videos. Can’t wait for the next one! Cheers!
Where on the Hood Canal is your friend? I have been to that area, in fact that is the place I wanted to retire to. There is a small town called Union which I liked. It was just a few minutes from an Indian Reservation where I use to buy my smoked salmon and fresh salmon fillets when I was living with friends in Shelton. There are a few oyster farms along the hood canal. one place has those giant piss clams known as geoducks.
Love that you’re up in my area enjoying the seafood in the PNW in WA. I’m along Hood Canal in Hoodsport/ Lake Cushman. If you’re still in the area, check out Taylor Shellfish and Hama Hama Oysters. Walter Decon winery is also near by Taylor Shellfish, which makes a good pairing (seafood and wine). Every year (minus COVID) Shelton, WA hosts Oysterfest, in October.
I can't believe I missed this vid!! My grandpa lives on hood canal and owns a strip of beach and every summer we pull up some crab. I wonder if I can try and farm some oysters!!
Loving the channel! Cooking freely! Will be doing this in my backyard. Family will be like why is he walking around starting fires everywhere, and cooking outside 😂
Thank you for always giving us the beautiful views, great food and lasting relationships you create. I travel through you lol Thanks for the awesome videos Taku. Much love from the Desert (Arizona).
next time u go... camp in seal rock campgrounds 5 min walk or less to the beach that is loaded with fresh oysters and butter clams. then head to the Dosewallips beach for steamer clams n gooyducks. that area has some good trout fishing n salmon fishing also and some great day hikes to waterfalls
Taku, I'm so glad you like the oyster knife I made for you. As always, great video, and I'm envious of the feast you made! Peace!
You made that knife for him? I'm impressed!

wondering when OCL were gonna join the exodus from California........
Buy land quick before the US$ crashes. Also interest rates still low.

The truffle is going a longgggg way
Right?!? I love that he used it in this video too.
I absolutely loathe truffle and feel personally offended every time I see it. Which is a lot. I watch a lot of food content lol.
WOW.. Oysters for weeks..!! thanks Will.!!!! Bust out the garlic and butter

I straight away just saved Will's listing in case I ever go to Washington. The view is amazing. Love your videos man!
I lol every time he says truffle butter in these past couple episodes 😂😂😂
I can’t imagine a life if I was allergic to shellfish
If I developed an allergy now I'd be devastated
Can you rank shellfish in like a tastiness order? I've only eaten mussels. What would rank one between mussels, oysters or clams?
@@erim6035 in my opinion oysters would definitely be number one. Then scallops, mussels and lastly clams.
@@lillikins123 thats about right
I couldn’t imagine! That would be so unfortunate
I feel like the trip to the PNW has taken this channel to the next level. Central California is great but the PNW is tough to beat

Finally you use proper Asian stove. Light portable, and powerful. People mess around with those Coleman joints just don’t know.

Tomatoes in a cast iron skillet... be still, my heart. qq qq qq
Yeah it's too bad it wreaks havoc on the seasoning, just like wine. Makes it complicated to cook certain dishes...
Same thoughts. T.T
COOKING with cast iron utensils? No anaemia for you! GOOD SHOW. What was the beer you were drinking?

Love what you are doing I think it’s really special and would love to see you on Netflix one day soon my friend!
