I just realized that I accidentally put McMaster Health Sci as a program that considers extracurriculars at 13:27 to 13:30. This is a mistake! McMaster health science does not ask for extracurriculars and I apologize for the mix up!
I just want to say, congratulations for getting accepted into the HARDEST PROGRAM IN CANADA!!! This is my dream program, and I know how difficult it is to get in. I love that you're willing to help other aspiring health sci students! Thank you so much!! Best of luck xx
I feel that you really have to be a great writer to get in. How effectively, creatively, and artistically you can put your ideas down really matters. Do you agree?
Hey! Congrats on your acceptance. I’m drafting my responses for the 2021 supplementary application right now and I’m just kind of confused on whether I should draft responses to all 5 of the questions. On the actual supplementary application, do you have the ability to choose between option A and option B for questions 1 and 2?
heyy! choose the option that you have more ideas to write on (or if you’re confident that you have brilliant ideas in store for one of the options) of course that comes after considering both options and determining how good of a response you are able to write..wishing you the best of luck!
I have the same marks as you, around a 96, this is rlly useful cause I have the marks, but I need to focus on the supplementary for this upcoming year. Thanks!
Thank you for making this video!! It was very helpful. I'm going into grade 11 next year(currently gr10) and I'm really stressed about how I can prepare for uni admissions. What do u think about admissions for uwestern health sci? I've been maintaining a 93-96 average throughout highschool and I'm pretty sure I can keep that until grade 11 and maybe grade 12. Also if u don't mind me asking but did u go to a prestigious or a well known high school? I'm curious to know if highschool rankings affect admission decisions. Mcmac health science is my dream uni, once again tysm for the informative video 💗💗
Hi there! Congrats on your academic achievements thus far! If you can maintain that mid-90 average, you are pretty much set for any program you're interested in. I went to a public Catholic school that, in my opinion, is not prestigious or well known whatsoever. We don't have IB or AP (anymore) and I would consider it just an average high school. I don't think highschool rankings affect admission decisions but I have noticed that a lot of mac health sci students are from the IB program lol. Thank you for your support and I hope this helped!
Do you know if post Covid Mac is now looking deeper into EC’s/volunteer etc given grade inflation these days? Also which hschool did you graduate/apply from? Thx!
If I have frequented the hight school and I decide to frequent for 1year the MELD programm (Diploma is an academic bridging program designed for international students whose primary language is not English and are looking to improve their communication skills in order to succeed in a McMaster University undergraduate program.)Which of the two diplomas will they look at to consider my gpa for admission?? ?
Hello, do you need to have 2 credits in physics? I’m currently in gr 11 in my first semester and I’ve done so bad, do I need to take physics again in gr 12? I know I shouldn’t back down just because of 1 subject but I can never do good no matter how hard I try in physics.
thanks for the info. But still, I’m confused that in your video, u told that McMaster health science does not consider extracurriculars. But in 13:30,it says they will consider some extracurriculars. I’m not sure which one is right😆😊
School's will consider extracurriculars if the program you're applying for is competitive. Some will have additional information sections where you can talk about extracurriculars but for the majority of programs, if your grades meet the requirements, you'll get in.
Jeanne Lin thanks for the info. But still, I’m confused that in your video, u told that McMaster health science does not consider extracurriculars. But in 13:30,it says they consider some extracurriculars. I’m not sure which one is right😆😊

Hello I wish you are still here to answer my question I am a new comer to Canada and I would like to study health science in McMaster university But first I have to go to adult school to get my credits But my classes are online And I will take my courses (Chemistry, Biology, Math, and English and two other subjects) online, therefore can I be eligible for applying if my GPA would be more than 90% ?????
Is there a way to prepare for the supp app? I see there is the 2021 supp app posted, but that's for class of '24 , right? Also, when do they release the supp app, just so I can get a feel of how long I am able to prepare the supp app.
Hi! so I am taking ENG4U in summer school will this affect my application for McMaster Health Science because I saw you commented on someone's post that it can lower your GPA in some programs in UFT and Waterloo. Also, do you think they would consider average 92 percent if the supplementary application is above 95 or does it only apply for averages above 93 percent?
Hi! McMaster accepts summer school credits without penalty so don't worry! Any average about 90 will get your supplementary application considered. Your supplementary application score combined with your GPA determines admission or not. In terms of percentiles, that likely varies every year and I don't have a definite answer:(. I hope this helps!
hi if you could answer my question that would be great! for the supp app i know they ask you for some to pick 1 out of the 2 questions. Did you prep to answer both questions just incase they select for you or are the questions you wanna answer totally up to you? i just dont want to be in a situation where they give me the other question and im not prepared to answer it at all bc im still confused on how the submissions of the supp app works >.
hi, so i had emailed someone that is in the health science administration and asked the same question! They had told me that you will have the option to pick between them.
👋 hello, I’m planning to take 2 musics which is U and M, advanced function, English, biology, chemistry, and calculus. I already have 96 for 12M music. I heard calculus is really hard. So my question is if my marks are over 96 except calculus which could be my top 6 courses, does it matter if I get 50 for calculus? I heard calculus is not recommended in health science and the students who did not have a credit for calculus needs to take in first year. So, is it okay if my calculus marks are low when if my other subjects are high enough?
As long as your top 6 average is 90 and above, you're all good! Nothing else other than the supp app matters. Also, Mac health sci only needs one high school math credit so they'll only consider the advanced functions mark. Calculus is also not a required course in the Health Sciences program and you don't need to take it first year.
The questions are released very early on during the school year which gives you lots of time to write it. You submit your answers sometime in February in which you'll receive further instruction on how to.
Jeanne Lin, hi thanks for replying to my question😁 I was wondering if u know whether or not you can get accepted into 2 programs at mac, or just one? (For example, health sci and life sci could I get into both programs?) thank you! 😊
If anyone can answer this, when they ask for an interpretation (eg: of a quote), would it be smart to do research on the person and address their prev work?
if you can relate the person’s past experiences with the quote and make it look as logical as possible, then sure why not? there is a plethora of ways you can approach such a question, and researching the person who quoted the quote is definitely a good one if you’re going to use it as supporting facts :)
Hi, I know you did this video a long time ago, but I sent you a DM on Instagram, and you didn't respond. My question is now that you are in Health Sci Mcmaster, is the program really hard and overwhelming, or is it easy in your first year?
I'm not applying to Mcmaster health sci, but I want to apply to other life sci programs from Toronto, Mcmaster, Western, etc., and maybe Queen's Health Sci. I get 90's in most of my courses but I went through a lot of life issues for my first quad, in which I took Physics and Biology. I got a high 70 in Physics (worst) and somewhere in the '80s for Biology. This quad master I have Advanced Functions and Philosophy which I know I can get 90's on since I'm doing better now. My remaining courses are English, Calculus and Vectors, Chemistry, and Media Arts. All of which I believe I can also get 90's on. Since they only calculate the top 6, do you think they would accept me if I had a low 80 in Bio but 90's in everything else? Thank you so much in advance, you truly are an inspiration! :)
Scholarship opportunities vary slightly per year and a great resource is www.scholarshipscanada.com where they list a lot of different scholarships. TD Bank also hosts a big scholarship contest every year but it's reallyyyyy competitive.
Hi! I was wondering if I had an advantage of getting in (mcmaster health sci or any other school)? I have 4 extra credits (34/30) and I am also taking all recommended g12 courses for some schools such as all 3 sciences, 2 maths, intro kinesiology. I know this sounds like a simple no but I just wanted to clarify haha, also congrats on getting into mcmaster!!
Not a dumb question at all! Grade 11 marks are shown on your OUAC and schools may accept you early (November/December) if they're really high. But ultimately, it's your grade 12 marks that matter in the end and schools won't accept someone if they have super high grade 11 marks but bad grade 12 marks.
I’m just wondering what is so good about McMaster health sci like do you have some sort of edge in med schools. Is it true you guys have it easier for marks, I think you can easily judge this as you were a top performer in high school. Is it easier to get in med school for you guys cause you get high GPAs? Please answer thank you ☺️

When you get into Mac Health Sci is when you know you made it!
Hey!! When writing the supplementary application do you get a choice between A and B? Or do they just give you one and you have to answer it?
Hi Jeanne! At 1:56 you mentioned a non-math/science/tech U course. Would kinesiology count in this category as a non-science course??
