- Handel's Zadok the Priest (Tongan Satoki) performed by the Royal Maopa Choir at His Majesty King George Tupou V Coronation in the Kingdom of Tonga, 1st Aug 2008.
Like the palangi broadcaster said, '"this choir will certainly not feel out of place amongst the best of them in the world"
Where can i watch this ceremony
Such singing, with confiction and power! You would make mr. Handel proud!
At first, I didn't understand the choir. Then I realized that they were singing it in Tongan. Nice!
BRAVO!!!!!
My nine year old daughter plays the trumpet at her school band and she plays this video every day. She just loves the trumpet in this one (and the whole choir of course!) . Must be very good for a nine year old to like it. Well Done!
Thank you TV for shooting this video coz this is the day that I will never forget singing on the Coronation Day, the last coronation on the Tupou 4 my grandma sang there and now ME and the next will be my daughter hhhh I can't believe that I'm on that video.
I used to play a little for The Royal Maopa in 1979 and Kolomotu'a choir the same time , I played the cornet and soplano
That what I was thinking about those brass players are amazing. Bravo!!!
I've seen the the Tabernacle Choir and this choir every note is just as good
I was watching the coronation of current Queen Elizabeth (of England), this coronation of King George V is an exact replica of it.
Everytime I watch this clip, I have tears in my eyes for no reason...Man, If I could feel the spirit of the song by just watching this, imagine if I were at the church...I'll probably sobbed the whole time...lol
The news media in NZ claimed this choir matched.if not outdone, any world class elite choir ...exceptional.
Most powerful rendition of Zadok the Priest on YT--stunning, breathtaking, majestic! Bravo!
This song always remind me of my beloved father Sione malekamu Manu

Actually, I believe Handel's Zadok The Priest is also the standard coronation music for England also, although who knows when we'll ever get to hear it LOL :)

Does anyone happen to know what the "Title" of this song is?......in english. England's West Minister Abby has nothing on this choir!! They should ask this choir to sing at the next Coronation for Englands monarchy.lol
Zadok the priest (Coronation Anthem) by Handel.
The Tongan Monarchy is one tawdry copy of the British Monarchy.
