I think it will be cool if you add Siri there, it could be like when you just wake say " Siri what do I have to do today?" And Siri shows you and speak it while you are changing clothes or that you are changing and then Siri says "Hey David you are running late for work, do you want ask for a Uber?", or you can just be chill in your bedroom and says "Siri I want to hear some song of Maroon 5" and she just play it through the mirror. This could be a really, really good idea of you implemented right, so good luck!

Lol great mirror project, just have one suggestion, get rid of the touch screen, sounds good to have a touch interacted mirror, but this will left finger smudges all the time, consider using ultrasonic sensors to turn on the mirror automatically and use either hand gestures to swipe to presented apps, don't click and open, of want to have text input consider voice recognition, this well be a much better product. My guess is that it's not. The sensors around the perimeter of the frame measure where your finger is and apply the proper input. You can buy these frames for things like TVs to make them "touch screen".

Release the code? All he used is the opensource Magic Mirror 2 modules with little custom tweaking, a Raspberry Pi3 which is a mini computer and a screen behind a mirror sheet.
If you were able to remove the auto-hide feature, open the photo app, and turn on slideshow mode, this would double as a digital picture frame as well. I hope you could include this in your marketing strategy.
I would not spend that much time in front of the miror to make all those options worthwile. Having motion detection (you don't want finger prints on the mirrow unless it has a special oleophobic coating) which would trigger display of time / calendar / weather forecast would be awesome (anything that would only need a glimpse)!

I don't know. Im trying to figure it out too. Ifra red frame can help with the touch screen part. Rasberry pi for a micro computer. Get a case for the rasberry pi too. Magic mirror for the app to use with the rasberry pi. They have modules that allow for face recognition and all sorts of interesting things. A Two way mirror for the glass. Acrylic for a smaller budget but, acrylic tends to bend. Thats what I have so far.
Even though the idea looks really cool, I don't think I could live up with the smudges in the mirror all the time. I think that controlling all the functionality of the mirror with your phone would be a better idea.
