I love looking at this in hindsight. All the older deck techs in this channel are so fun to watch. Having players talk about and discuss decks which I see as staples, and from which archetypes have been made is hilarious. The dude below me mentioned Nightveil Spectre and Nykthos. I'd definitely say the Nightveil is a must, being an evasive 2/3 with an awesome utility feature, AMD giving 3 devotion. Nykthos is slightly less amazing, and only works when you're winning. When you're winning, you get out Bident, Thassa and etc getting you some card draw. If that is happening, you can use your crap tonne of devotion to spam creatures. If you're at that point, however, you don't NEED another way to win: you already are! A single Nykthos might be useful, but I wouldn't stretch it past 3.
The more of these i watch the more i wonder why i'm not just trying to run a straight up control deck. Something similiar to a suspension deck with deep sea kraken, but use shipbreaker kraken instead.
means sort of like bluffing your opponent into thinking you arent as good as you really are, or in the case of MTG holding back playing certain cards to make them think you dont have anything good to play
I agree. I don't forsee this deck doing well after this tournament, after all the refinement and counter refinement of the hivemind have had its way with it.
WTF why the hell is he not running shrine to nyx and nightveil specters? shrine to nyx lets you cheat cards into play and can also be used for mana to make creatures unblockable with Thassa's ability! I actually won a game by doing that! My opponent even complimented me on that by saying that was a good play! Nightveil spectors are awesome for stealing your opponents permanents! Oh you revealed a scry land? I ll take that! Now I can cast spells of other colors! I only run on Jace, architect of thought and I have memory adept in my sideboard!
I love the name of the deck and the history behind it! Great stuff.
Very interesting, this will defiantly help me make my MoW deck even better.
Praise Thassa!

haha I made this deck(one very similar to it) right after Theros was released for under 100 bucks. :) A good investment I'd say
Does someone counted the total cards? To lazy to do it ;)
This sure is a weird deck. Gainsay can actually make some work in sideboards now.
What does "sandbagging," mean?

Aha "Sea you back on the floor"
Thassa prices pre Pro Tour 7 euro, after Pro Tour 20 euro. Fml.

at first I thought this was modern...
Sweet deck. People laughed at me when I told them that u devotion was the real deal. Who's laughing now?
and anyone without counterspells or a formidable aggro is completely fucked.
