It's JR for me, he is the voice of wrestling. But for people who worked infront of the camera, rather than as an announcer, Heyman or Cornette, take your pick.

I missed King every Monday during that run, didn’t realize the greatness of Paul until years later because of how much he pissed me off. Job well done sir.
Yes that's a great point. was the same for me and Jerry lawler as a wrestler. Despised him as a kid, but looking back he was a fantastic heel and was simply being exceptional at his job
I loved King but him and JR had become too buddy buddy and the friction between Heyman and JR was a real breath of fresh air. I was glad to see King back but disappointed it meant the end of Heyman. I can't believe he hasn't been back on commentary since.
“We don’t go for the lowest common denominator” regarding a comment made during a segment where he was making a woman take off her clothes and crawl around like a dog….yah, that sounds like Vince.
In the 90's and early 2000's there were three; Paul Heyman, Eric Bischoff, and Vince McMahon. Now, there is only one still in the business; Paul Heyman. The War was a marathon not a sprint, congratulations.
While it's true that he has not run a promotion, he has been behind many of the moments, storylines and pushes that are still propelling the industry forward.
He was brilliant on Commentary with JR back in 2001. Wish they had more than only a few months together. He’s wasted not doing colour commentary today if he could still be that good, because he’s not bringing anything to the table as the “Wise Man” in 2025.
Wow, just hearing Heyman explain how many responsibilities he had as "Brock's advocate" paled in comparison with those of Jim Ross made me realize not only the scope of JR's workload but my own blinders to the man who had to fill his shoes: Michael Cole. Before watching this video, Cole wasn't on my Mt. Rushmore because I didn't see him in the same league as Ross, Solie, Gorilla and The Brain, Ventura, Henning, Schiavone, Tenay, etc. But Cole belongs there because he like Ross has to sell and put over a 3 hour product - a product much more complicated, multifaceted, and nuanced than it was in the 70s and 80s. When it comes to capturing an audience's attention and keeping it, Solie and Gorilla only had competition from news, cartoons, game shows, and a Commodore or Atari 2600. For an hour at most. Between streaming, gaming consoles, computers, live sports, Ross and Cole have it worse because it's a 3 hour product in an era much more technologically advanced, and the competition is tight. Tons of alternatives. So many things are competing for our time and dime. No pressure, fellas! 😝
It's the entertainment business, you need to be able to do more than just the mechanics. You don't put every top level football player on your Mt. Rushmore.
I started watching wrestling in 2007. I’m 26 years old and it was Jerry lawler and JR, I grew up with that for awhile and it stuck with me to where they gave you that feeling where it’s like yup I’m watching Raw, if that makes any sense? Commentary now is nowhere near what it used to be. Corey Graves is trash as far as I’m concerned, there’s a good reason he was pushed down to NXT. But in my opinion, Michael Cole and Pat are the last pair that feel authentic and have that passion
Is Paul Heyman the greatest talker ever in pro wrestling? Let us know in the comments below!

Nah. Jim Cornette is. In my opinion anyway.
Tough to say since Heenan, Dusty, Jake Roberts and a few others are better talkers than Heyman.
Paul has such admiration for Jim. I remember those two sounding off at wrestlemania 17 together and it was a work of art.
I missed King every Monday during that run, didn’t realize the greatness of Paul until years later because of how much he pissed me off. Job well done sir.
So true. Most underrated comment 💯

i wish i could talk as half as good as paul heyman
I'd take 10% as good.
JR and King were by far the best announcer duo of all time
“We don’t go for the lowest common denominator” regarding a comment made during a segment where he was making a woman take off her clothes and crawl around like a dog….yah, that sounds like Vince.
It doesn't make any sense. If they were PG you could understand it but the comment was far less shocking than what was being shown on screen.
@@clivet3252 If I recall correctly, that particular segment was pre-PG Era (or very damn close). So, you might be on to something.
Well, he did say "We don't go to the lowest common denominator IN THAT DEGREE" 😅😅😅
Paul and JR were truly the dangerous alliance
I’ll always love Heyman and JR as the commentary team. Truly my fave of all time
This guy doesn’t shut up. But my god when him and Jim did commentary in 2001 it was amazing. Best team of all time on the mic.
It's crazy that it was so short lived.
"Jim Cornette will replace you tomorrow pal!"
Paul proceeds to corpse live on air. I wanna say it was survivor series.

He's 10 years younger than Bischoff and 20 years younger than Vince. And he hasn't run a promotion for 25 years.
While it's true that he has not run a promotion, he has been behind many of the moments, storylines and pushes that are still propelling the industry forward.
Oh DAMM. That last line just made the entire video...
Is there a UA-cam link for the full video of this???
Heyman could be sitting outside on the coldest place on Earth and still be sweating.
Jim Ross and Jerry Lawler were Monsoon and Ventura all over again but turned up to 10.
Never heard that quote because whenever a recap or something about the segment with Trish comes i turn off or skip.

That 2001 run was amazing. Him and Jim both made you believe it was real.
Heyman, Regal and Jericho would all be great on commentary but we have the most terrible commentary now.

This was taped on 2016!?
Jim Ross shocked by haymenn.lol with all he’s seen and heard with the boss . I wouldn’t piss on him if he was on fire. Smh
Sorry, Bobby Heenan is Jim Ross 's huckleberry.
Shocked Heyman did not mention Joey Styles. Styles’s is a great talker 👍🏿
Who?
Who’s Herman? 😂
I put him right behind Jim Ross. No doubt about it.
Not really tho he just kinda screams

Graves is okay. He's bland but he's not terrible. Cole and Pat are horrible.
