I started cutting up old clothing when I was a teenager. I taught myself and figured out (by making mistakes) all the tricks on how to easily alter clothes. I used to use a machine, but now I do hand sewing and lots of things with just scissors.
T-shirts are my favourite because they are easy to cut up and don’t fray when they are cut. This means you can make all sorts of designs by just cutting them, and don't have to worry about sewing hems or finishing seams. Just cut and go!
Most tutorials take less than five minutes and you can learn how to experiment with your own ideas and designs. I just give you the basic techniques.

This week hopefully I'm going to buy second hand pants for a trial run,
I have noticed that, how my toes goes into the hand stitching on Hemmings, do you suggest doing multiple of little stitches
Great idea and great question! You could definitely do more stitches closer together and that should solve it
