That's Kenji "Jino" Hino! He's a well known bass player in Japan. This video is highlighting the release of his signature jazz bass (exclusive only to Japan though).
Here is a rough translation into English for everyone! Hello. It’s Jino here. My signature model, the Jino jazz bass is now available (has been released). This is until now the first time at fender they have done a 3 pickup configuration like this, with bass, front, middle and rear pickups. The controls are front pickup volume, rear pickup volume, the third knob is for the middle pickup. Perhaps if you want to just to hear the middle pickup, the humbucker only, you can pull this knob. Now I’ll use all three at the same time, have a listen. Now rear and front. And now, middle as well. That’s what the middle pickup can do. Also, this bass includes a preamp. If there’s people that want an old school sound, you can turn off the preamp by pulling on the front knob. If you pull it, the bass will become passive. This bass has an ash body, rosewood with block inlays, 3 pickups, the fender high mass bridge and a matching headstock in seafoam green. This is the Fender Jino jazz bass. Thanks for checking it out!
Don't understand Japanese, but damn his excitement of getting his own signature bass really translates and cheered up my day too. Congrats man! I'll be sure to check your music
Just a non-Japanese speaking dropping some comment here. This a very beautiful bass! It's a monster version of Stu Hamm's bass, and sounded cool too! I bet it will also sound awesome on metal and rock music too. Lucky for you, Jino-san!
I dated a Japanese girl once & my bass instructor is an American man living in Japan as a session bassist. They have both told me that Japanese folks are very intrigued when it comes to everything nice haha it’s all about the looks & being flashy. I love the Japanese culture so much!
Japan has the best, innovative Fender stuff. American market is so conservative. “Classic” doesn’t have to mean stale. I haven’t said “Wow” to any American posts like the instruments posted in the Japanese market.
ua-cam.com/video/Ru7Tfiy0ULw/v-deo.html For those who don’t understand what I’m saying here’s a great guy who said more than what I can say about Fender Jino Jazz Bass:and it’s all in English! I’ll make one in English in the future video! I dunno why they didn’t ask me to make one in english ,I speak better English than Japanese since I lived in NYC for 30yrs!!

does anyone know what his artist/band name is?
Thank you
Thank you thank you thank you 😊😊!!
I'm an American and want one of these so badly now. That pickup configuration is genius for fans of Jazz basses and Stingrays.
His passion just translated 95% of everything he just said! Loved it! Need it!
Ah yes, Japanese Fender videos. I didn’t understand anything but the instrument is dope and the guys playing is just amazing.
This is a dude who experiences absolute joy in playing the bass! Bravo!

Yes I agree

This guy looks dapper as hell.
His bass just made him look even more dapper xDD
The best Bass I've ever had is a "Jazz Special" made in Japan in 1986. Thanks Fender Japan! 👍👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Amazing bass, love the color
It really is beautiful
I don't know who this guy is, but he radiates happiness as he plays. Kinda like Flea's Japanese long lost brother. And yeah, that bass is gorgeous.
