    Sweeet! Video quality is awesome, really shows the incredible scenery. I re-watched Chasing October, your truck goes through the snow like a tank compared to last year, pretty cool-getting stuck will be tougher🙂. Tires throw a good rooster tail with that new snow! Looking forward to the next- Have a good one!!

    Got an f150 similar to yours. I just flip up the rear seats and have made it an awesome place to camp. Haven't seen anybody else do this.

    Love this! You are doing the very thing I have plans to be able to do with my 2015 F-150 (mostly stock). Keep up the good work!
    How much do you think the weight in back helped you out especially the changes you've made recently?

      Thank you, and I'm glad you enjoyed it!
      I think having some heft in the back helps a lot. So far it's been a night and day difference compared to how the truck handled last year.

    So whats your setup on the truck? I'vre been wanting to go out in the snow but just dont want to get too far up and get stuck with no other vehicle with us... Other wise great video than kyou

      Bilstien leveling kit and some BFG Ko2 tires. Set of skid plates to help the belly slide too. It was good snow conditions coupled with good tires. 👌

    Fun video! Is there snow on that road yet for this year?
    What do you carry in terms of self rescue for your truck? Most of my snow driving happens on i90 over snoqualmie pass. Ive never had issues in my previous truck, but i never took it up service roads like this. Ive recently picked up a 2018 f150 with the 2.7 eco and thinking about what i should carry. Ive got traction boards, but i feel like thats maybe just a starting point. I carry a shovel in the winter and will start carrying chains this winter. Ive also got KO2s and this will be my first time running them. I had a lot of success with the Wrangler Ultraterrains from Discounttire the past 4 years. I used to carry weight in the back during the winter, but when i got the ultraterrains i found i didnt need it for my trips over Snoqualmie. Hoping thats the same story with the KO2.

      @simpleinstinct  Рік тому +1

      Yes there is snow on that road right now, however part of the road is closed due to damage from the Bolt Creek Fire.
      I carry traction boards, recovery straps, shackles, a high lift jack, a regular jack, shovel, axe, chainsaw, and maybe a few other things.
      I haven't had any issues with my BFGs and I commute over stevens pass every week.

    What leaf springs did you put on your Truck I have to replace mine getting a bounce in the rear end when I hit bumps.

    Personally I would’ve aired down. Because number some steep drop offs and I’d want all the traction I could get

    • @simpleinstinct
      @simpleinstinct  Рік тому +1

      When I'm by myself, I like to keep aired up until the going gets tough. Gives me an extra recovery option to to go back the way I came. Especially if the snow gets too deep going up in elevation.

    Hey Man! Just found your channel looking for tire reviews. I have a 2019 F150 with the Dynapro AT2s and they were such a big disappointment! This is my first truck and last winter I felt so uneasy with the truck lol... My previous vehicles I owned were modified (tuned, lowered suspension) and for the winter I always put on winter tires. A lot of times I found myself going around SUVS/Trucks with AWD/4WD in my lowered GTI with winter tires.
    Anywho, I am so close to buying to new and deciding on the K02s. How are you liking them? I live in Illinois, out by country roads. So our roads are not always plowed/treated first.
    Awesome videos by the way!

    • @simpleinstinct
      @simpleinstinct  2 роки тому

      I used to have a MK5 GTI. They rock in light snow!
      As for tires for your truck, I really like the BFG Ko2, I have heard great things about the Falken Wildpeak AT3 tires too. Just beware that mud tires are horrible in the snow. All terrain tires do pretty good.
      Obviously a dedicated snow or studed tire will do the best in snow. For an all around tire though, the BFG is hard to beat.

    Hi do you use snow wheels or chains For the snow

    • @simpleinstinct
      @simpleinstinct  2 роки тому +1

      I recently purchased a set of chains. I am not using dedicated snow tires.
      These BFG Ko2's I'm using have the snow flake label. Indicating the rubber stays soft at lower temperatures. Which helps a little.

    • @simpleinstinct
      @simpleinstinct  2 роки тому

      The Ko2 is a really good all terrain. It's very popular. I have friends that also like the Goodyear Wrangler Duratrac tires. I have seen those work well for them. Same with the Falken Wildpeak At2s. Between those 3 tires, I don't think you can go wrong.
